I am very much a beginner, but I believe there is an error in Row 6 of the written instructions for this Two Color Brioche tutorial. I think the repeat section should read *Sl1p, YO, BRP. For my learning style, I need to follow written instructions, and it seems like Row 6 just doesn't make sense as written.
Hello, for row 2, when you slide your work to the other end, I wish you would say where the working yarn should be, you cannot tell from the picture either. I am a beginner brioche knitter and these things would be helpful for me to know. Thank you.
I loved this tutorial! First, your voice is so comfort inducing. I felt calm, relaxed and so ready to learn. Second, your pace was just right for following along. I know myself well enough to know that I will have to view this a few times, at very least, before I fully grasp the brioche stitch. I also know I would LOVE a brioche in the round tutorial from you. 💕☮️🧶
@@bhookedknitting I hope I get a chance to jump into giving it a go. I'm currently in the middle of a few projects and I had decided to try to finish them up before I start anything new. But, you know how it is when something new gets your mojo revved up. Lol! Any way, I will be returning soon, hopefully. 💕☮️🧶
Excellent tutorial, thank you so much! Great advice to start with a swatch, and then to learn to read your stitches rather than rely on the pattern - this makes it so much easier to understand intuitively :)
Excellent tutorial-your explanation was clear, your pace was perfect. Much better than other tutorials I (unfortunately) found before I found yours. Your tips/cues were very helpful in learning to read your work and make sense of what you are doing. Thank you!
Hi there! This is so helpful. I just wanted to point out a small error in your written pattern for row 6. You have it written as SL1p BRP as repeat stitches, but I think you mean SL1p YO BRP as the repeat stitches.
I’m REEEAAALLLLY enjoying your production & teaching style. And for someone who usually clicks off videos with persistent background music…the fact that you keep the volume low while you are speaking makes it pleasant. Thank you ♥️♥️♥️
I’m so happy to read this!! This honestly makes my day 😄 It’s such a challenge to make a tutorial enjoyable to watch, and I put so much time and effort into every little detail. 💙
This is amazing, I finally cracked it. I was way too cocky earlier and went in with this tutorial without trying the single colour brioche... and kept getting stuck and unravelling the whole thing 😅 After the single colour brioche, this made a lot more sense. Thank you!
Thank you so much for your tutorial, It has helped me to understand brioche knitting, I was so scared of this stitch even though I liked it, I was sure I would make a terrible mess.
Thanks for creating this separate channel. I crochet and just took my first in person lesson. I’m learning to knit continental and it’s so complicated. Let the learning begin with you. 😊
Yes!! I tried to knit continental when I first learned because that's what I heard would be easier for crocheters, but it felt so awkward and clumsy for me (still does!) When I committed to "flick knitting", it was SO much easier. You may give that a try and see how it goes!
2 colour in the round please! I've tried and failed several times. It's the beginning/end of round where I get in a mess. Thanks for your clear, calm videos.
Oh I’m so excited to see the brioche stitch on your channel! Been wanting to learn this…so beautiful. Think I’ll go back and start with your single color first! 😅
Yes! The single color brioche video still lives on the main channel for now, but it's the best place to start to get the muscle memory for this one. Have fun!!
I found that if you Knit your stitch by grabbing from the row below and purl as usual, that’s the easiest way to achieve the brioche pattern. I knit combination continental so maybe that’s why is so easy.

For my learning style, I need to follow written instructions, and it seems like Row 6 just doesn't make sense as written.
I believe there is a mistake in the written instructions. Row 6 should have a YO after the Slip and before the BRP. Should read Row 6: With CC, K, YO, *Slip, YO, BRP. Rep from * to last st…. Correct me if I am wrong ,but it doesn’t seem to work AS written.
I think it’s kind of a knit knit pearl pearl thing. Knit first, then pearl pearl, knit knit, and so on and so forth. But you turn between each knit and pearl, so knit pearl, turn, pearl knit, turn and repeat. Sorry if I’m not explaining this correctly I’m bad at explaining things 😅
I think I’m really getting it but it would really help me if you would state the stitches for each row at least a second time through rather than just saying “repeat”. I am jotting down the directions then must switch my eyes to the screen to follow what you do next. I’ve had such a difficult time with brioche and was about to give up. At 82, my short term-memory isn’t so good.
I have the instructions written up on my website if you want to follow along that way. Here’s the link: bhookedcrochet.com/2022/06/03/two-color-brioche-knit-stitch/
@ , that is helpful. But my confusion comes with distinguishing between a yarn to the front or wrap around YO. The video states that difference but not the written, as far as I can tell. I’m not yet at the point where I recognize which to do, so I end up with extra loops on the needle sometimes.
While so much of this us helpful, please try to repeat the stitches. For your 10 stich swatch, you only say the first stitches. It makes it hard to follow. I am rewinding several times, and just not getting into the rhythm... because I have to constantly rewind for the stitches for each row. I'd rather hear your voice than the music.

You're right, this really is the last video you'll need to watch on this stitch. Very very clear. Thank you!!!!
This video is awesome! Thank you! You repeat just the right amount, your tips are super helpful, and your commentary is perfect.

Thank you so much for making this stitch so easy to understand! I’ve been wanting to try this stitch for a while now and I’m going to practice!
This is the absolute best tutorial, they tips / cues at the end were sooo helpful.
Excellent tutorial, I have watched so many but this is the best!
First video that actually made it all click, thank you!!

Is it possible to knit brioche in the round? 🤔🤔

nicely explained

What if I don't want the grey to be on edges? I am trying to find a video where i my selvedge is just one color and and mix match with with CC color😭.
How much yarn do i need?
A good video

Yeah, great info but I can’t figure out which rows should be knit or purled.
Great instructions but the music is irritating.
