- In this video i share the process of removing and installing headlamps & fog lamp bulbs on my 2016 F250 Lariat FX4 4x4 pickup truck. I upgraded to Sylvania Silverstar Ultra. I also try out 3 different turn signal running marker bulbs as well. Zevo LED & standard incandescent.

Thank you for the video, it was a life saver, apparently i never had to replace any bulbs in my 2011 since owning in 2014. I went ahead and changed all 3 bulbs on each side since i had it apart.

On gas engines, you can get to the passenger bulb easily, there is nothing in the way. On the driver's side just take out about 5 screws in the fender well and reach upp and turn the bulb. It's a hell of a lot quicker and easlier

I bought the same silver star bulbs and did the test with a light meter before and after and Did Not notice any difference whatsoever what a waste of time and money. contacting sylvania to let them show me in real testing that there bulb is brighter as stated ..thanks for your time and making the video
I did notice a difference over stock bulbs. The light is whiter and brighter on the road and it lights up objects further out nicely. The light meter is only measuring lumens...what it does not account for is the color of the light which matter just as much as output lumens. Thanks for watching!

Great video and comparison. Thank you. I purchased some 4000k led foglights and would like to take some of the yellow out of my headlamps so they match better. It looks like these are a great place to start.

Air box pops out pretty easily to get to bulbs on back side driver side headlamp without removing Grill
What about the other side?

John, when you remove the headlamp, how do you keep the adjustement of it? Is it adjusted on a subplate that remains on the truck when you remove the headlamp? You have courage to go through those plastic clips and undo them. I would be afraid to break them! Thanks for sharing!
Headlamp adjustments are made on the receiving end of the headlamp housing. Once you snap it into the carrier. The carrier has adjustment screw at the top. Yes those clips are not easy to reach. I had to be very careful! Thanks for watching!
You can remove the battery on driver side in battery panel in you have access to the light less work to replace it

I have a 2011 f250 with a grille guard and winch and aftermarket lights mounted all together on the guard. Is it possible to do it from behind if push comes to shove? I really don't want to tear the front end of my rig but if that's the ONLY way then it is what it is😡. Anyway great video buddy and VERY informative, take care bud.

Which bulbs in the Amazon links did you not use, in the video the one of the amber lights did not work out for you and you decided on incandescent for the headlight?

Lasfit makes some good options. They have one that has multiple LEDs in a top, angle back and angle forward array which can fill the reflector better. Not tried them on this truck yet but we have some on order. We have a 2016 F350 DRW.
I also ordered the switchback white park/Amber flash which is a cylinder type.
Thought about doing led’s but it was illegal to use led’s on public roadways unless they’ve changed that.

I bought the silver star Ultra h13 and didn't notice any difference compared side by side when installed on my truck so I am still using my factory bulbs .i measured the light output 55 watts /12 volts and see no difference. Thanks for the comments
Looks the same. Been down this road. The original Silverstars from early 2000s were brighter and whiter. But the new ones are just like stock. Not worth the premium price.

Not so...noticed a brighter and whiter light for sure. LEDs are not really designed for this factory housing. The reflector is set at a certain focal distance for halogen bulb's transverse filament. You will get a ton of stray light and blind oncoming vehicles when not using the intend bulb for the housings optical design. Thanks for watching!

They aren't the worse ones I've dealt with. I was disappointed beat back in 2011 when these came out....I thought Ford had cut the cord using those shitty dual filiment hi/lo bulbs. These looked like they had a separate high and low beam housing. Nope, they decided to add a gynormous turn signal. Such a waste.
I was waiting on the aftermarket to do a separate high and low beam kit and use the same housing
what a joke this is..dude is starving for attention..remove the air box on drivers side and the bulbs are right there..on the passenger side just reach over the fender..no need for all this wrenching...
