Not sure how much you now about him but he was famous for a lot more than Laredo. A champion weight lifter in the Air Force and a 31-1 record as an amateur boxer. During the Korean War he had both a CIA and NSA clearance, flew secret missions over Russia and intended to go into govt service. Pretty interesting bios on Wikipedia and IMDb pages.
this show ends the almost the same way another episode ended. The only difference was that in the other episode Joe and Chad were arguing about a secret assignment. Reese overhears and sneaks away and tells the captain he wants to volunteer for the secret assignment,and after some jibber jabber between the two the captain tells him ok, but you better put your old boots on to clean out the stables.
I wish I could find the episode where an Englishman is commenting on Reese's voice, to which Reese replies, "Nooow QUIT makin' FUUN o' tha waaaaay Iiiii tawwwk!!" That's the only scene I remember from those days, but I recall it clearly. Good ol' Reese! 8-) (Always thought it was spelled "Reece", till I saw that "Reese" is the only spelling I can find on the internet.)
2:00 I like how Jack Kelly bars the door... at the bottom of the glass pane! And who would waste perfectly sawn lumber boards to build a backyard fence. It's probably there to hide Beaver Cleaver's neighborhood on the other side.
William Smith was a good actor. In Laredo, he was movie star handsome. Later, he became one of the scariest heavies of all time, and he no longer seemed like a leading man.
Neville Brand was cool as Reese but I believe his best performace was as Duke in Stalag 17. Real war hero of WWII. Reese should have spanked that Missy for doing what she did. This is the second time a Neville Brand character mentioned/threatened to give a spanking. The first was in the episode, "Lament for a dead Indian" in the show Naked City. He was a cool actor.
That was basically his real voice--Neville Brand played a lot of bad guys in his long career, his meanest role in my estimation was the part of a heavy in D.O.A., an excellent film noir starring Edmond O'Brien
Loved Laredo ! Loved all those 60's western shows.Even some 50's. todays entertainment is dead in the water.

My Dad liked this show because of Neville Brand. As a WW2 bomber pilot he was always partial to actors that fought in the war.
