I know little about American awards but while admirable that would be unlikely to be the second most highly decorated soldier of WW2, even assuming you mean American soldier.

Bruce Dern was raised with white gloves and silver spoon, had every opportunity for Ivy League education. Wound up frightening his mother with horrific bad guy movie roles. Wound up to be a well respected actor.
