For most San Diegans who are born and raised here the most obnoxious thing about the city are the transplants. Primarily the transplants who come here and then whine about why San Diego can't be more like Portland, NYC, Boston, Chicago, Denver etc. I can't understand why people move to San Diego when they miss the layout of their home cities so much, much less expect the city to adapt to them rather then they adapt to the city.

After 68 years in San Diego County, I really wouldn't want to live anywhere else. I wouldn't live in the downtown area, but there are a lot of nice neighborhoods and towns in the county. The weather, the beach, mountains and desert are incredibly beautiful. You can literally, and I know what literally means, you can literally surf in the morning and snowboard in the afternoon.

@@realtorjamielennon Yeah it has it all... including the extreme pollution and sewage coming off of the Tijuana River. It's been going on for so long and is bad enough at this point that I think we should shut the border to Mexico completely until they can figure out how the hell to process their sewage. What's worse is your tax dollars have gone toward trying to fix this problem to no avail... And as a taxpayer you basically just paid the cartels to do nothing as The Mexican government is corrupt as hell. Can't fix stupid.
Get with the times San Diego! Would you tolerate your neighbors shitting over the fence into your yard?... How about those neighbors doing that for over 60 years? Have you pulled your head out of your ass yet?
Mind you, I'm just citing the pollution coming from Mexico and not drugs and crime. Mexico is one of the worst neighbors you can have.

What's not to like; there's something for every buddy, unless you like to root for a sports team. Hiking, biking, water sports, over 70 public golf courses, you don't have to make alternative plans due to the rain. Not much bowling and there are the homeless. Of course you could try to help a homeless person. This is not a police state (city) they leave you alone. Smoke pot if you want to and go to a nude beach, who cares. And talk about beautiful women (or men). Easy in n out airport; it really is small for such a big city. Also, you can walk a circle around the downtown area in an hour; try that in LA. I think this video his about please stay away, so I can have heaven on earth to myself.

After living the majority of my 43 years in San Diego, I left and moved to Phoenix. I LOVE San Diego, and it will always be my home. But, the state politics of high taxes, homeless, and high cost of living are all created by the mismanagement of the 1 party liberal majority of California, and San Diego has fallen victim as well. It's a shame. I got a job that makes more money, way less taxes, and a lower cost of living. I'm a 90-minute flight or 5-hour drive to visit, and I appreciate my visit and then leave. Plus selling my house in San Diego goes a long way in Phoenix (desert pool oasis 😊)

I'm a Vet, my landlord is a Vet, deaf and can make lots of noise but for 10 years its been fine. No quakes, relatively safe zip code. Been able to save enough money to invest to eventually move out of state and buy. Worse thing is getting jury duty notices like I give a F. Second worse thing is I have to drive 12 miles to get to Sprouts, Whole Foods, beaches.

San Diego used to be cool to live in. It was Relatively inexpensive, but somewhere in the early 2000’s LA and OC posers, and probably posers from other places, moved in and the cost of housing skyrocketed. SD used to have very little traffic, and now it’s severe bumper to bumper traffic from about 330 until 7. The 805 especially is a hell scape. Plus, the weather really was spectacular with year- round mild sunshine, with the exception of June-Gloom and maybe a bit of May-Gray. Yes, climate change is real , and evident in San Diego. Nowadays it gets a lot colder in the winter and hotter during the summer. You never ever needed AC , with the exception of EL Cajon and inland areas. Ironically, people move to SD because it is beautiful, but it was much nicer before all those annoying people moved in. Typical.

Lived San Dog from 1982 thru 2022. I know pretty much Gaslamp, Little Italy, Pacific and Mission Beach and North Park area like back of hand. Sincerely your comments correct on downfalls of San Diego Great Job. Except after forty years living all over the homeless issue is the deal breaker it has exploded in numbers and the individuals on the streets. During COVID Gas lamp allowed to be over run Little Italy protected by SDPD, fine by me also lived close on Beach St,. The truth is vast majority of the homeless are drug addicts and severe alcoholics Dangerous. Mentally ill small minority need help. The hard truth is that the huge criminal element among the homeless need to be incarcerated. I moved to Mexico after four decades not wanting to ever leave. God Bless The Finest City is under assault by liberal woke policies. Upsets my heart.

I completely agree with you. I’m located in Little Italy and am thankful that there are things in place to help deter a lot of the homeless population. It’s not perfect, but it’s much better than other parts of the downtown area. This is the overall jump in the cost of housing has been the two biggest contributors to people leaving.

Hope you’re thriving down in Mexico. I know quite a few people who moved down there to buy a place on the beach.

@@realtorjamielennon Yep loving it more every day cost of living 100 ft from beach 600 USD per month. Tijuania dangerous south its safe for Gringo's in Baja. Believe safer than lots of parts of San Diego especially Gaslamp.

"Liberal woke policies?" You don't even know what that means. Conservative cities all over the country have the same issues. If you think West Virginia is a paradise move there instead.

In 1985, people complained about all the drugs in San Diego, and they have the same complaint today. San Diego will never be a good neighborhood. San Diego has gone to the doggies.

San diego sucks. I know I was born and raised here, it sucks. Its super expensive. There is no parking anywhere. The beaches suck and are full of sand, the dolphins are terrifying and the sharks are hungry. The locals hate everyone as well as themselves. Airplanes deafen communities in the flight path and the animals in the zoo are planning a hostile takeover. Balboa park sucks, and Ive had better mexican food at taco bell, I mean sombreros doesnt even have a doritos taco or mexican pizza. yeah san diego sucks, move to LA instead, they actually have a football team.

I lived in San Diego for bout 6 months and despised everything and everyone there the people there are the worst humanity has to offer , when the big one comes hopefully this place will slide into the ocean along with everyone there , keeping my fingers crossed!!

I think your hatred is misdirected. San Diego is far better than San Francisco and LA. San Diego has no major fault lines, so your dream of it falling into the ocean will never happen. But! LA and San Francisco can! So let's watch those cities disappear into the pacific ocean!

Pretty hateful comment. Never does hatred cease by hating in return. U basically are hating on every single person living here and crossing your fingers that we all die. That sums up your comment. Try being kind. Reword your animosity toward Californians. I respect people’s opinion but you are calling us a hateful community ,then u reply that u wish us all fall into the ocean ? Sounds like hypocrisy.
