It is what it is. They are putting decent rifles in peoples hands that couldn't really drop alot of coin for a higher end AR. I salute what they are doing completely.
All I do is buy the blemishes from psa I never notice a difference at all plus they will get banged up with use anyways as long as it functions reliably that’s all that matters to me.
Plus all blemishes are cosmetic and you can always rattle can paint the rifle which I have done a desert camo job since I live out in the desert and it looks great
@@efm2169 Did you see the scope part of the video? Certainly more than cosmetic with deep pits and gouges in the rifling. Still shot well but I’d be concerned long term. So blems are more than external cosmetics..at least in this case.
I thought the furnishing on GI models of AR-15s and m16s were made by Mattel plastics that's where the competitor product called zitel comes from another company but it's the same thing
Josiah McCollum is the owner of PSA in his philosophy is quite a bit different than the average businessman he's more interested in getting these into the hands of people than making a huge profit and that shows by offering blemished stuff for people who are much lower income than the average can afford to build themselves an AR-15 in other words he wants to get as much freedom out there as possible
Yeah I couldn't tell a blemish from an unblemished palmetto state armory I bought a blemished 10.5 upper and a bolt carrier and both were said bluishing on the package but I couldn't find anything that would indicate blemished so they must have really nitpicked to find something
The Poverty Palm Tree rifle.......when you consider "the ban for your buck" and the companies mission to make affordable rifles for Everyone. I think everyone needs one.....just to support them! And YES I have one....no complaints, no regrets.
I wish I had a otoscope so I could do that to my barrel cuz I'd like to see what my barrel looks like I've actually put a light in it and looked just by the naked eye but you can really can't tell anything like that unless there's major faults in the rifling
It seems like that's the only difference is knowing graving of the logo or the team marks mine doesn't have a logo or a t mark on it so that could be the blemish of it it was skipped to have it later go back and re-lazer eched the logo cuz mine doesn't have any of those on it but otherwise it looks pretty flawless be coloring is even all the way through the receiver the barrel is even colored so we're all the little accessories on it I can't tell the difference other than no logo
Top one us the blem assuming you got the bottom one first and removed the zip tie. Blem is just PSA'S word for clearance. It's a geat strategy because it convinces you to pay more if you have the money. While clearance them sound desperate to move the product.
Most manufacturers would send a blemish item to recycling instead of selling it to the public at a lower price so they don't undercut their normal line of products he doesn't care about that
I think it did not pass Josiah mccollum's inspection and that's why they get blemished and he's sort of a perfectionist he believes in getting things right the first time but he also knows those there's nothing mechanically wrong with this bullish ones so he might as well just count them sell them to lower income people or people who just want to save money
@@Hazzbro1964 ahh that makes more sense then. I’ve personally never had issues with a blem but I’ve never bore scoped or inspected one so closely either. I imagine you can find something wrong with them all if you look hard enough
Content of this video is excellent. Thanks for the deep explanation of a blemish vs a non blemished barrel.
It is what it is.

Really great review!!! Thank you and have a blessed day.
Great video and info glad I found your channel on GSC last night.
Thanks for the kind comments and enjoyed the live stream last night!
It's amazing the cameras microphone is actually picking up the reset of the trigger I can hear the reset every time the shot goes off
Go pro with the camera mod mic. It’s not too bad.

Can’t argue with the results!

Now from what I heard PSA gets all their barrels from FN of South Carolina
Your blemished upper has a freedom barrel its a PSA barrel. Just putting different plem parts together to make it what it is.
Great review ! Thank you

On the non-blemished rifle are you using a GI 20 or one of those p Mags?
Magpul pmags 20 rnds
I think due to liability issues the only type of blemish upper they can sell is one that's only cosmetically blemished not functionally blemished

Thier freedom barrel is the budget barrel the two upper are not identical sku. Freedom barrel is usually stated in the product description.

Agreed, and for those who won’t put 2000 rnds through one it probably wont matter. Tks for the comments
The Blem costs more money?
Yeah, thought that was odd also except the “give” you more things I think
