You would think that they would make it easy to take an oven door on/off but it is just not so. I found the Thermador manual online, hoping that it would help but it was useless. Then.....I found your video. I saw the tool you used to pull up the hinge and then it all made sense. Went back at it and in minutes, the hinges just clicked in exactly the way they were supposed to. Thank you for taking the time to make this video; you clearly have helped many, many people!
After 45 minutes, then watching your vid, it's fixed. Thanks. I used a heavy solid tablespoon prying up on the lower latch, then locking the safety latch as you demonstrated. TY
One of the hinges of our oven door came off a week or so ago and we have spent several frustrating days struggling to open and close it while cooking - convinced that if we got a repairman out to fix it (which we figured was probably pretty simple) it would cost a lot of money. Today we found this video and my husband had it latched on and working in literally just a few minutes. What a relief.
I tried and tried and knew it had to be something odd that I couldn’t figure out. I gave up for a few days after several hours and scrapes. I watched videos but nothing helped. My hinges look like yours so I tapped on this and it was exactly the problem. I fixed it in minutes and felt so accomplished! Thank you so much!!!
I'm glad I was able to find this but one thing that you don't mention and took me a minute to figure out was that I needed to pull back the locking latch back to keep hinge from snapping down after pulling it up with pliers to keep it from going back down and smashing my fingers, once hinge is inside you can push the latch up to lock in the hinge in place.

The manual didn't show how the henge was supposed to be sticking out with the little clip holding it in place. As soon as we saw how you did that, we did it and it worked perfectly. You where such a lifesaver I removed my door to clean it and when it was time to put it back I just couldn’t figure it out I tried for hours until I got tired and left it a side for a couple of weeks but I knew it was time to try again so after almost an hour of trying with no luck I started looking through several videos to help me and yours was the most helpful that’s how I was able to put it back I feel great! I am so sorry for doubting you, the hinge didn't open all the way for me because I was too weak and exhausted after fighting with the oven for oven two hours in the middle of the night, I had to beg for my brother's help one last time because I saw one of the comments talking about not being able to open the hinge all way, guess what, I wasn't doing it right the first 50 times. what worked for me, is that my brother pulled with all his force, it was enough to lift the door up with the pliers only, I pinned the door down with my full arm and shoulder like they pin criminals in the movies, then when it reached up enough I quickly lowered the thingi backwards, then repeated it the second time for the other side. you saved me from my mother's wrath, I am indebted to you.

Note 4 Frigidaire owners, the little locking table which can also function as a kickstand to keep the hinge popped out does not function as a kickstand on my oven. In other words there was no way to keep the hinge popped out in an open position. I found that jamming a quarter inch nut driver between the hinge and the door would keep the hinge popped out. This little trick worked well and once the hinges were on the nut drivers just fell right out. Anything of a similar size and shape you could Jam in there without obstructing the door in the frame should work

The year is 2021. After watching cleaning videos on TikTok, I stupidly decide to take off my oven’s door…what could go wrong? Well, everything! Both hinges snapped, one trapping my glove and pinching my hand. I finish cleaning it off and Iattempt putting it back on, and for the life of me, that little sucker was not latching! I did not understand why so naturally I dive into TH-cam looking for how to videos and none of them have my oven’s type of hinge. At this point I have already almost severed a finger trying different things. My life is ruined and I’m contemplating just buying a new stove, until I stumble upon this godsend video, I shall name my second born child after you (maybe). After many tries, I realized I was just exhausted and had no strength left in me so I took a break (was not about to wake my husband up and ask for help…momma raised no fool) After an hour or so or reflecting on my life and the decisions that led me to this mess I went back and, with all the strength I had left, pulled those suckers in place. I’m glad to report that I am now enjoying a cold beer in this cold winter, don’t care. Thank you! You, ma’am, are a hero.

do pliers help getting this hinges open? I'm having this same issue, but can't seem to just pull the hinges all the way back enough to put down that latch... one side seems easier to pull the hinges down, but still feel like this may need two people or maybe im just that weak?
