      I use castle in all my planes, used them in helis for many years but went to Hobbywing for the full telemetry and integration. And Hobbywing has a better BEC but castle still works great! Got a few 160s laying around so decided to put one in this thing. Thank you! I’m glad you enjoy the video!

    Big Thanks Jeff, i finished my RS7 few days ago and was watching your vids and seen the mainshaft collar. I never noticed in the manual about the 2 flat spots for the 2 grub screws. I was like, Hey im sure i didnt see thst. So i just went and checked. No i didnt. So ive now corrected it thanks to your vid 😊

    Thank you very much for this very nice build video ! ... however .. i've got confused about the mainshaft "alignment" with the collar and the main/tail gear. my maingear has an axial play of like 1mm if i pull the mainshaft up as much as possible. and this is exactly the point: when fixing the mainshaft collar (the red one)... do you have to pull the mainshaft up as much as possible (so the tailgear is touching the upper bearing) and than fix the collar ? but if you do so ... the tailgear seems to ride a little bit higher than the belt. on the other hand ... if you push the mainshaft all the way down as much as possible (while having the jesus bolt installed) .... then fixing the collar at that position makes no sense ... because then .. the whole mainshaft can move up and down (in flight) for like 1mm ... i hope you get my point ... my feeling is, that you have to pull the mainshaft up as much as possible .. and then fix the collar ... this way ... the mainshaft cannot move up and down anymore .... but the maingear will have an axial play of about 1mm ... i think this is okay for the type of gearing .... however ... can you please clarify on that ???

    • @westhobbiesrc8051
      @westhobbiesrc8051  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you for watching! I’m g,ad the video series was helpful! So make sure you have the third bearing block (the one under the main gear) in the right way. If it’s upside down you will have up/down play of the main shaft. You have about 1mm of up/down play on the collar to adjust. You don’t want to pull hard on the head to pull the shaft up you just want to tighten that collar down so there is no play. The main tail pulley can be a little high. But, check that lower bearing block first.

    • @mha5636
      @mha5636 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@westhobbiesrc8051 OMG .... thank you so much for putting me into that direction ... indeed i had my third bearing block upside down ... what a shame ;-) i have build my last helicopter 9 years ago ... but still .. i should have realized that it's not a good idea to have that lowest bearing without support to the downside (not sitting on that shoulder) ... i reversed it ... and now i almost have no play at the main/tail gears at all ... now it makes sense to "just" tighten that collar down "as is" ...thank you so much !

    Would like to see how you ran the wires - the manual does make a vague suggestion to wire run - suppose you can do that run on either side - based on ESC model

    • @westhobbiesrc8051
      @westhobbiesrc8051  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      In part 3 I’ll be wiring it up and showing how I do it (not sure how I’m going to do it yet but I’ll figure it out lol) I see the suggested wiring layout in the manual but the biggest issue is the width of the FBL Mount so getting super clean wiring might be tricky.

    Looks to be a well made tank. Lots of littke extra thingsadding weight when not needed. Btw whats the rtf weight. Im guessing close to 13 pounds. I was going to get it after a 3 year hiatus from helis. However after your viddo on the sab piuma im getting the piuma. 700 sab heli thats light strong and tears holes in the sky.

    Jeff, excellent build series as always! I have mine all built just need an ESC and FBL.. what ESC do you recommend? This is my first 700. I have the Xnova Lightning 4525 530. Is the HW 130a big enough? I am by no means a Ben Storick or anyone (ultimate goal lol), but I can do some sport/3D moves (tic tocks, flips, hurricane, funnel etc). I like a high head speed, I’m probbly going to run around 1,900-2,100 when I’m ripping it around. Or should I play it safe and just get the 260a? Was trying not to break the bank with the ESC, but it’s worth saving for if it will keep the Heli from crashing! Lol I’m from good ol Pittsburgh PA so it gets pretty hot and humid here in the summer. Thank you!

      Thank you! I hope these videos helped you! So the Hobbywing 130HV will work, I was going to put a Hobbywing 130HV on this one. It will peak over 200 amps but if you want bullet proof and as you grow and progress then get the Hobbywing 260. That’s the ESC I’ll get for mine soon. Definitely worth just saving and spending the money one time then buying a Hobbywing 130HV now then spending more money to get the 260 later.

Thanks again, I’m looking forward to not only flying the RS7 but seeing yours finished and the flight!
