  • Well! It’s was not the maiden flight video I wanted for the GAUI NX7. Unfortunately crashes happen and they are always the worst when you can’t do nothing about it. Lost RX pack voltage in flight and just watched it crash. It will be rebuilt and flying soon!

    Great move arresting the chicken dance so quickly and so effectively. I learned a lot by watching that. It sucks that you had a crash, but it happens to all of us (like you yourself said in the video). Thanks for sharing your RC adventures, I very much enjoy watching these videos. And I also typically learn a lot from them. Best regards from Brasilia, Brazil.

      Thank you, I am glad you learn a lot from the videos and they are helpful! I always post everything regardless if it’s good or bad. I’m not wanting to hide things or fake it. Everyone crashes no matter how good of a pilot you are! Failures happen pilot error happens. Any time a nitro does the chicken dance/runaway do you have to act quickly because if it sits there at full throttle with no load it will blow up sooner or later.

    I know the pain lol. I have a Trex 500 that has a gremlin I been chasing for years. Flew it 5 times since I built it and its servo glitched 3 times out of 5 and slams itself into the ground. I've replaced everything I thought it could possibly be and fixed it once again on November 19th after it slammed the ground. After many many packs ran through it while strapped down to a steel beam to see if i could recreate the issue I thought it was fixed. Monday I took it to work and hovered it up out back. Clicked it in idle up 2 and 10 seconds later elevator servo glitched and smacked hard. First time was tail servo and last crash was left side aileron servo. I stuck it in a corner and quickly remembered while all of my other helicopters are nitro. When it's my fault it's not so bad but when it's something stupid you can't control it hurts lol

      @@nigelthompson874 I mainly use backup in the event of total power loss, so I don't personally need telemetry for the backup bug, I'm happy enough to have some degree of control for an autorotation at the last moment. There's a nice device called XBuzzer XGuard Sonic, that thing outputs 100dB and you definitely gonna hear it when backup power has taken over.

    Dude! That was gnarly!
    What kind of engine is that? It just kept running like zombie machine, looked like it was some type of lawn machine. I'm sorry but I was laughing my ass off when that happened!
    So I'm assuming you didn't properly break in the engine? Or did you lean it out too much?
    I've had loss of engine power and even complete stalls on my airplanes back in the day. It was so annoying. One reason why I love electric now. Only negative is less run time.
    But loss of engine power or even dead stick on a heli is a whole another game from airplanes!

      @westhobbiesrc8051  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      OS 105, RX battery died (brand new pack) so lost all RX power so the engine was at its last command. Witch was 85% throttle, so it will run till there is no more fuel. Engine outs or dead stick are easy on a heli. Just auto rotate. Same with a plane. I fly a lot of nitro planes and had plenty of dead sticks, never crashed or stalled one from it when multi engine planes! I own a lot of multi engine nitro planes. I love them!

    Some suggest power backup but you would need telemetry or once again an onboard alarm (strobe maybe) to indicate switch over. Electric easy, the motor suits down on low 🤓power

      Battery back up is a great thing to have. In 28 years this is the first time I’ve ever had that happen in thousands of helis. Telemetry is setup on the model but one cell went completely dead so as soon as the alarm went off I lost all power.

      Well just to report back, maiden flights were great, the 470 was so stable in the air but the 230 had a fair bit of tail wag, wether that was due to battery being too tight I don't know. Also on the 470 I have soft start on the align esc but sometimes it would spin up like it was on airplane mode and then would start normally after flicking switches and resetting the throttle back to 0.
