  • This is my conversation with Vito Lo Re. It took place on 11/20/22 from his home in Italy.
    Born in Milan, he studied composition with Silvia Bianchera and Bruno Bettinelli,
    classical guitar with Rocco Peruggini, choral music and choir conducting with Franco
    Monego, graduating from the “G. Verdi” Conservatory of Music in Milan. He studied
    Orchestral Conducting with Massimiliano Caldi, Erwin Acel, Dejan Pavlov, Bruno Rigacci,
    Armando Krieger and Aldo Sisillo. He is also a graduate in Political Science.
    He made his debut as an opera conductor in 1997 and since then he has
    conducted more than 30 operas and several operettas in Italy, Austria, Canada, Czech
    Republic, Switzerland, Romania, Kazakhstan, Ucraina, Albania, Macedonia and Bulgaria.
    After having composed several music for almost twenty theatre shows, music for
    documentaries and prime time TV shows he composed several soundtracks: between
    them :“La ragazza nella nebbia” (The girl in the fog) starring Toni Servillo and Jean
    Reno and “L'uomo del labirinto” (Into the labyrinth) starring Toni Servillo and Dustin
    Hoffman. Both movies have been distributed worlwide.
    He is also a pop and rock arranger and orchestrator
