Hellboy: Web of Wyrd is the Comics Canon Rogue-Like from Hell | gamescom 2023

IGN's Max Scoville sat down with Hellboy creator Mike Mignola and Art Director Patrick Martin to talk about Hellboy's new game, Hellboy: Web of Wyrd.
Patrick and Mike talk to Max about multiple elements of the new game. They discuss the game's heavy emphasis on melee combat that still includes shooting. More than that, they also dug deep into the game's rogue-like elements, like Hellboy's different upgradable abilities and what players could expect to customize from run to run.

Mignola is one of my favorite artists and storytellers and reminds me, in the same vein, of Paul Thomas Anderson because you’ve got these guys who are tremendously talented top-of-their fields craftsmen and then in conversation they come across as the most normal of dudes.

Canon in regards to what? As long as it's IN the Hellboy universe, it can take place whenever; and you can plop this story wherever, as long as it's not at the end, or at the VERY beginning.

Roguelikes are the easiest type of game to create for Indie studios. And yeah sure, they're not for everyone, but when they're done well, they're done REALLY well. Hades is INCREDIBLE. So is Dead Cells.
