Using Zombie horde game mechanics for the Tyranids is genuinely a stroke of genius .
It will be interesting to see if they apply to this to other alien enemies, after all Orks are pretty much everywhere in 40k and Titus has a history with Chaos. So the green tide or swarms of warp demons could be as amazing as the footage we've seen of the Tyranids so far.
Maybe, a DLC or something.
@@userMishaZietsev Man that's a really sad attitude. The first game had Orks as the primary enemies and then Chaos appeared later. There's no reason to chop up and paywall everything.
Its not genius its the only gameplay that works, it would be genius if they had found another way to make it work. This is like a total conversion of Darktide....or Vermitide or Mordheim or any other Musou/Horde Survival game.
one problem though tyranids see EVERYTHING as food even chaos demons so they don't collaborate with anyone, they eat entire planets!

The potential Warhammer has when they get the AAA treatment is enormous, but far too rare.
Granted at least some of that is down to how infamously difficult to work with Games Workshop has traditionally been.
This. Exactly this. Okay, gimme your "dream" 40k AAA game. For me it's a dead heat between a survival horror where you play as a guardsman in training on Catachan or some kind of open world RPG where you play as a junior inquisitor investigating a chaos cult that leads to a full on chaos invasion.
@@dave1102swapping between the different Kreig regiments, Imperial Assassin, and Astartes groups during the Siege of Vraks. How that hasn't become a game yet blows me away. Imagine getting to play as a kreig armor regiment once Chaos reveals themselves amongst the trenches and you and the remaining tanks drive full speed across the no-man's land towards the several chaos titans and knights as you try to buy the retreating regiments just a few more moments yet knowing full well this is your last charge.
Vraks is filled with stuff like that. Even the insane no-man's land bayonet charges would be amazing

The sea of gnawing teeth and grasping claws slowly climbing over the Imperial position while a few stray lasgun shots flickered out of the darkness perfectly captured the hopelesness of facing down a Tyranid invasion. This game looks amazing.

One of my favorite things about this is the armor of contempt. Expressing your outright hatred for xenos through tearing them to pieces literally protects you.
It's funny because that's what was happening in BOLTGUN too, which is a loose sequel to Space Marine

All it's missing is the choice to join the co-op campaign with Chapter compliant loadouts (Bolters and the like, equivalent to what the host (Titus) has) or come in as a separate Chapter in the Deathwatch (Cosmetically to tell player apart from bot when they join, but with the option to help out the host with some heavier hitting weapons found in the game)! Either way, this looks massively awesome
A Deathwatch game would be interesting.

@@yamata2001 A proper one, yes. Not like the mobile one (Which did look nice, but turn based combat's very saturated as is). For now, I'm just hoping they have Deathwatch cosmetic options in multiplayer since that would be very lore friendly for what's going down. Get the ball rolling for a future idea down the line.

Rumours has it that there will be deathwatch in the game & this time the chaos faction that invade as well is none other than Tzeentch..
The first game had fantastic multiplayer as well, hope this one does too.
Praying Exterminatus mode gets added to this one, spent way more time playing that than singleplayer or pvp

Saber Interactive was probably the most qualified to make this sequel. Props to them for developing one of the most promising games this year.
This is looking great! Also glad to see that guardsmen and brother marines seems to actually do damage and kill enemies on their own. In first game it felt like they barelly did anything other than just walk beside you and pull some aggro sometime if you are lucky.
The other Space marines could have been other people since the game is co-op

The “exploding poison bugs” are actually spore mines, a genus of tyranid that flies at its enemies as fast as possible, blowing up into a spore cloud of living flesh eating microorganisms…spooky stuff…there are also some termigaunts in the background, which are just hormegaunts with guns instead of pincers
Hope Guilliman appears towards the end and imagine genestealers show up in a Hivecity.
Hope we get a mention of leandros getting cucked or disciplined by the rest of the chapter, for selling out our boy to the Inquisition.

In a era where Star Wars has become about as interesting as watching paint dry, it's cool seeing other Sci-Fi universes start stepping up when it comes to general media.

This has to be easily the best representation of the Tyranid swarm in action that I've ever seen. They've nailed it down perfectly, super hyped to play this!
Just needs a horde mode with character customization like the first game and we have a goat 40k game in the making
Could you imagine if they had a defend the fortress style horde mode where you and 9 other players (your 10 man squad) have to hold the walls and make fighting retreats to the inner keep
hopefully there will be multiplayer again but regardless, a raid mode where you and three friends could customize your own SM would be really cool.

This and Rogue Trader are the most hyped i've been for 40k games since Dawn of War
The biggest question though: Are you invulnerable during Exectutions??? The first games executions had you being vulnerable and often times on high difficulties you just get killed during the animation....

my lord it looks stunning, most games don't really benefit from bigger and better graphics but 40k definitely will as it allows the apocalyptic scale of carnage to be shown
Hopefully, we will unexpectedly see new enemies (like the Necrons), like we did in SM1 with the chaos.

Proper “Gears” third person shooter and melee.
The Gears of War comparison is very appropriate, since the creators of Gears have gone on record to state that WH40k's Space Marines were a big inspiration for the Cogs. It all comes full circle in the end. (Don't quote me on the creators being inspired by 40k since I'm having difficulty finding a direct source, but there are quite a few comparisons that make it unlikely to be a coincidence. Main example: Chainsaw Bayonet -> Chainsword.

If its using general nid tactics then yes you will mostly fight weaker nids and warriors at the start with stronger versions coming along as needed.
The spore mines do seem like they could use a bit more work.
For how hard they seem to make you flinch, being able to dispatch them before they reach you is important, but they appear quite small and hard to spot amidst the hordes.
Also, they seem to detonate immediately upon reaching you, rather then after a short-but-clear animation/sound (like the squigs in the original game) which offered a way to dodge/avoid their damage, even if only in part.
Chaos has also been teased to be an enemy in this game
Never played any of the War Hammer series, but this one definitely got my attention. Definitely Gears of War vibes.
Co-Op is a blessing in this game
My guess is that it won't just be Tyranids which will be tiresome. Since Guilliman indomitus crusade is aimed at a variety of threats hopefully we will be facing many types of foes including demons and chaos marines
The last trailer for the game had what looks like a portal in it, which tells us a second enemy, likely Chaos, will be at play.

the execution= healing mechanic was introduced in the first game. which abviously the reviewer hasn't played since he never mentions it and instead he has to reference doom but even worse he didnt even bother researching a bit the first game otherwise he would have known. anyway game looks promising, the first one was really a gem

Hmmm those exploding bugs are called Spore Mines, nasty since there's 3 varients, those look like Frag Spore Mines. The explosion and poison covered shrapnel makes them a especially nasty foe in numbers
