In my stash I found some black mohair/wool yarn spun through with glitzy multi-coloured nubs. I’ve had this the 1980’s. It’s price was marked at 95p (UK) per 50g ball. 8 balls didn’t go far and was a bit of a nightmare to work with! However, I’ve ended up with a wrap measuring 12” x 78” (two patterns deep x fifteen wide). Not quite what I was hoping for but it’s pretty and useable! Think I’ve also got some red DK with a sparkly thread running through, so might try that next, although it was originally earmarked for a Christmas sweater!
Long chains like that make me a bit nervous, but perhaps the centre being square makes a difference. I will definitively try when I get my yarn. I got a notification fot this 10 minutes ago, but others have commented 16 hours before! 😂
That pattern is the same one my husbands sister made us an afghan for our wedding (30 years ago). Awesome. Never seen it anywhere before & always wondered.
This is a beautiful wrap. A wrap in the color used in the tutorial reminds me of a Sun medallion. It would definitely work as a spring or summer shawl/wrap. Great pattern for any season. Thank you for sharing.💜⭐
