How to Crochet Easy Lacy Scarf, Shawl, Wrap, Bumbo Moonlight Yarn, Crochet Video Tutorial

  • In this video tutorial I show how to make a beautiful lace scarf or shawl. I made this shawl with fine yarn and a large size hook. The specific yarn that I used is Bambo Moonglight, color Parti. About 750 yards of yarn are needed to make a scarf about 60 inches long and 17 inches wide.
    I worked with a big size hook to achieve a lacy, airy texture.
    Hook size I (5.5 mm)
    The written pattern for this scarf is available

    I love crochet. I have really improved over the summer and my mind is filled with things I want to make. I am currently working up a scarf for myself using hdc. This stitch will diffinately go into my to try list. I want to make a scarf for my cousin that just started college at Ouachita Baptist. I want to make it in her school colors. I wanted to make one for me to see how it goes and it's so easy. It's a nice big project but not so time consuming as say an afgan. So glad I kept practicing. I love having a hobby again.

    Hi Olga :-). This is not a criticism, but a request / suggestion. When you are using a light colored yarn could you possibly use darker background? It could be a piece of dark cardboard, a pillowcase, heat or something like that. It would make it much easier for me to see what you're doing and possibly for many others as well. I really do like a lot of your patterns! :-) keep putting out the good videos.

    Good morning, Olga!
    I finished, as far as I could, this wrap and ran out of yarn at 60"s. I want it to be 70" long. Searched for nearly a year for Patons Silk Bamboo in Orchid but it is discontinued and i couldnt find any color that would match. I settled on a silver dk silk, cashmere, cotton blend. Texture looks really close to Patons.
    I want to do several rows on each end in the wrap patter and then add a lacy border a ross each short end. Is there a substantial lace border or edging you would suggest? The open work of your pattern is like little blocks or rectangles. I want one that will compliment your wrap. Hoped you would have a suggestion or two. My silver yarn arrives today. Yay!
    Love your work so much.

    • @OlgaPoltava
      @OlgaPoltava  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Kim! It's kind of hard for me to recommend something without seeing your actual piece. I think if I were to extend each side or make a border, I would go with something simple and something that resembles the main stitch. Possibly even the good old granny stitch - three double crochets, two chains.

    • @kimquinn7728
      @kimquinn7728 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@OlgaPoltava Thank you. My piece is the same wrap that is in this video. I guess I will attatch the silver on each end and just continue the wrap in the same pattern you show. Thank you for replying. Much appreciated. 🥰
