  • Component cables use the red and white audio connectors, but they divide the video into three components: one for luma (brightness) and two for colour information. This is known as YPbPrComponent video is a video signal that has been split into two or more component channels. ... Like composite, component-video cables do not carry audio and are often paired with audio cables. component video. Component and composite audio-visual connection cables both transmit video via an analogue signal.
What's the difference between AV and component?
Best Answer: Component video is analogue video. It is high-quality analogue, because it carries red green and blue colour components separately to the display, whereas "Composite" video [another type of Apple adaptor] combines these together for the least good video connection.

My tv has an optical cable instead of the 3.5mm jack audio out. My speaker is logitech z333, can i use red and white cable for audio output to use the speaker for the tv?

I think what can help you is a convert......optical cable to 3.5mm female. and then use Analog Stereo L/ R to connect to your logitech.

It depends the name of the DVD PLAYER and the name name of the TV
The best TVs and DVD players is LG and Samsung
Fore start use only the yellow video wire which is one wire and conect to your TV and press the AV button on your TV remote and go to the DVD player settings and put your DVD player on Automatic ore PAL ;if that does not work than disconnect the yellow video wire.
After you have disconnect the yellow video wire ; connect then the 3 Y Cpb Cpr ; Y Pb Pr which is red ; blue and green video wirers of the DVD player to the Tv and press the AV button on the TV Remote control DVD logo will display
Go to DVD player. settings and select Automatic ; But your TV must be on AV ; if you do not put you TV on AV the screen will not show the DVD logo
First of all press the AV button on your TV remote controler and it will show the DVD logo
If there is HDMI in puts on your TV and DVD player ; select the HDMI connections and select HDMI 1ore 2 ore 3 on the TV and it will display the DVD logo
The HDMI cable is a bigger wire then other DVD wires

At the back of old dvd players video is as follow
1 Y pb pr- red ; blue and green video ot put
1 Y C pb C pr - red ; blue and green video out put
      2 Yellow video out put
The yellow video out put works alone and it is one wire and goes with audio red and white.
The Y C pb C pr is 3 video wires and go along with audio red and white
Do not conect the yellow and the Y C pb C pr together
You can only conect the 1 Yellow video wire and disconnec the 3 video wires Y C pb C pr but keep the audio red and white connected
Go to your dvd player settings and choose analog
Ore you can disconnect the 1 yellow video wire and use the 3 Y C pb C pr video wires
If your TV and DVD witch is called a BLUE RAY DVD player have HDMI inputs ; use the HDMI in puts ; and go to your HDMI DVD Blue Ray player settings choose 1080p fore HIGH Definition whitch shows far clearer pictures and better sound than old video players and tv. On your TV choose HDMI 1 ore 2 ore 3 and disconnect all other wires ; that means you only going to use one wire from your HDM DVD Blue Ray player to your TV ; and get your self Blue Ray DVD movies
