The war between Israel and Iran is driven by cynical politics, not their national interest

  • Not too many decades ago, Israel and Iran cooperated to build the missiles they’re now firing at each other. The disintegration of their relationship shows what happens when demagoguery overtakes rational policy-making. But it also teaches us that the crisis in the Middle East is neither fated nor permanent.

Superbly dispassionate analysis - we need more of the Bismarcks and less of the cynical exploitation of fears and religious fanaticism

    Hey Praveen,
Great video. Just one feedback on the audio, the volume is really low, a bit louder audio would be great.

Praveens clips are well researched and very well scripted. But his delivery has a long way to go before it can catch up with his scripting skills.
To top it these clips are always hamstrung by poor tech, bad lighting, poor video and audio quality.
Thats a shame as these is one of the best columns content wise on The Print

It is absolutely FOOLISH to talk about geo-politics of ANY country without considering its RELIGIOUS Ideology, especially a Muslim country.
In this one, Mr. Swami, you fail by focusing on "politics" sidelining the ideology.

I'd ask you if India is any better today. Religious/ideological fanaticism and fascism run hand in hand. Even the US and Britain are not free from such bigotry. Fundamentalism is the problem. The brands, though different, are all the bane of humanity.

yes I agree with you, one side has been trying to kill the other for 1400 years.
Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:
The last hour would not come unless the Muslims will fight against the Jews and the Muslims would kill them until the Jews would hide themselves behind a stone or a tree and a stone or a tree would say: Muslim, or the servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me; come and kill him; but the tree Gharqad would not say, for it is the tree of the Jews.

Praveen u are an excellent journalist but would love if u leave the presentation to someone else …i mean its very monotonous and i had to keep rewinding to understand…also it doesnt help u reading from a script..might as well had put subtitles instead..sorry about the harsh but honest feedback

The discussion of war in the 21st century is a waste without knowing the development of rockets and missiles for military purposes. Showing some Computer animations of missile launching and their numbers is like a fairy tale. Moreover, a person may be an expert in this missile technology but some are classified documents. Iran has exposed their weakness in the field. This report will give some idea as to why Iranian missiles failed? Previously, most longer-range ballistic missiles' accuracy was so poor that they were effectively political rather than military weapons. Because they could only strike within a few hundred (or thousand) metres of where they were aimed, they were mainly useless against specific targets. So Ballistic missiles are not suitable where accuracy is required.
