How does Fender’s Tone Master Pro sound? Tell us in the comments what you think and how you’d use one in your rig! Don’t forget to stop by Sweetwater for a detailed look at the Fender Tone Master Pro 👉 sweetwater.sjv.io/Fender_Tone_Master_Pro
I agree with you on that, and it would have drawn alot of people away from Helix, Fractal and Quad market, Fender is late to the game , anyway I never buy a first generation in gear especially a modeler, I wait to see what needs to be improved
I just bought one. I don’t think its overpriced when you look at all the features available. Its not cheap, but I’ve put a lot of gear out of commission with this, pedals, amps, interfaces, power supplies, cables etc…Might not use all the features, but they’re there. So much flexibility and adjustability.
I've owned a lot of great amps and still have a couple. I haven't seen a modeler that I would buy until this one. I knew the day would come when someone would nail it. I think Fender's done just that. Looks like fun and not a chore to work through. A new level has been set! Reminds me of when digital cameras got so good there was no turning back. I think we're rounding that corner now in the amp world.
Mitch and Don: you guys do a great job as a duo of presenters-this demo is no exception. It looks like a phenomenal piece of kit. I like all the little touches, too. Definitely want to try this thing out in real time now. Thanks, gentlemen.
Sweetwater typically nails it with their demos, but this one was so much fun to watch. Speaking of which, watching the excitement and enthusiasm from Don and Mitch - it's like being a young guitarist all over again diving into the geekery and weeds, fiddling with knobs and just listening for hours at a time. Great video...!
Fender did a great job with this unit… the price of $1700 is very high, but on par with other high end modelers like the quad core… I would have been a home run if they were able to hit a lower price point imo
It’s got a better interface than the Quad Cortex, but no amp, pedal capture at that price is too much. Also, I hope the modeling and FR speaker are much better than the Mustang GTX because the sound quality on that is not great.
Its smart for Fender to start at this price point, especially offering 8 cores of processing power. They can get this product out there, and im sure they are already developing a smaller unit with 4 or 6 cores that will fall into a price point to compete with the Helix LT, etc. This thing looks and sounds fantastic. Excited to try one.
It is interesting that this is the "Pro" model (it is certainly packed with features, e.g. 5:16 got my attention)... If they are following the Apple computer vibe (where Pro is reserved for the high-end), there could be a "Home Enthusiast" model just as you predict...
Nice! THe more competition in the modeling world, the better for the modeler user. I’m especially interested in the Fender amps in the model, in use with Strats and Tele’s.
It's the same exact price as the Quad Cortex just announced. Definitely agree with others here if it was a few hundred less I'd buy it over the QC. Always great demos Mitch and Don!!
Everyone is harping on the price and I just don’t understand it lol. The Helix, Quad Cortex are literally the same exact price most places lol And… this is newer, fender models in it sound way better than anyone else’s, it’s cosmetically pleasing to the eye, and easier to use… what’s not to like?
I was just telling a friend, Fender, Vox and Marshall should do their own 'Helix'. I'd buy the Vox one because they need to enter this realm too.I liked their old Tonelabs. Thank you
I watched the video, and I'm sold. Unfortunately, I wasn't impressed with the built in looper as it sounded in the video. The first loop sounded good, but the volume of the other overdubs kept getting harder and harder to hear in the mix.
Priced to compete with other products which is nice and seams feature rich. I'd like to see the expression pedal included since the Line 6 Helix has it built in for the exact same price, so I think that's a bit of a let down and would sway a lot of potential buyers. Aside from that, the sounds sound great and the ease of use seems top notch. I do love the jewel light.
This is the Fender version of the TC Helicon Voicelive 3 Extreme. Whatever happened to TCHelicon? They were way ahead of the game as their version came out 10 years ago.
Fender has created the best interface for multi effects no question. Knob/pedal control is very nice. I’m interested but only if it’s a smaller format and no more than $999
This is the only modeling Amp with the Kemper that has seemingly preset switching. 1.400 would be a fair price for this unit. The only worry I have is how long Fender would support a unit like this. Kemper is still receiving big updates after 12 years
This unit would be a great match for my Fender American Vintage II 1961 Stratocaster. But I have to be honest with myself, I'm not looking for a wide array of sounds. I'm happy with a good smooth distortion and a few clean rhythm sounds which my current setup gives me in spades. But Fender certainly nailed it with the Tone Master Pro.
Impressive unit, but I wish it had a wah pedal like some other units, like the Headrush and the Helix. Also, I feel the switches are a little too close together. If you have big feet that would be a problem. Is there a pitch wham feature where I can tune the guitar down to say like Eb tuning? They need to add more amp models. I don't know if they have all the Fender amp models. Fender makes the most beautiful clean sounds. Amp models are like closet space, you can never have enough. This is by far the best demo video. Great job Mitch and company! Great sounding unit. $1,700 a bit step. I could buy a Fractal or the Headrush Prime for that price. Just my two cents.
The user interface on this new Fender unit is the best I have seen from all the different "big modelers". It is very intuitive and easy to use. So much nicer than a Fractal unit. ( For the price, it should include a matching expression pedal tho. )
I'll say that you should get an expression pedal built in on the side. I've got the "Fender Mustang Floor" & even though it's several years old, the technology built into it is like the very prehistoric version of the Tone Master. My Mustang Floor has an expression pedal built in. The TM Pro is light years ahead but since I don't tour anymore, I'm keeping my Fender Floor
@@gearmeister I would like a removable expression pedal that maybe "docks" to the side of the unit. That would be cool, in case you want to move it around on stage.
Better sound > better price > better features. This seems to be (arguably) in the better features camp, which is less easy to get excited for. But switches that are knobs is pretty forward thinking and more than a little cool.
@nc1969 Those are "greater than" symbols I was using to express my opinion of the best selling point for a new modeler. Better sound is the best selling point, followed by better price. Last was better features, which I was trying to say is what they seem to be offering with the Tone Master Pro. I've watched a handful of videos for it and I didn't think it sounded better than other modelers I've heard.
Fender obviously studied the competition, and then asked themselves, "How can we do all of that, but better?". Don't know if I'll be letting go of my Helix anytime soon, but this is the only other premium modelling unit that's piqued my interest at all.
One thing that perhaps most of your viewers didn't realize is that this device makes a lot more sense for us musicians from the third world, where a fender tube amplifier is very expensive, so for me it makes a lot of sense to sell my old pedals and buy One of these, I'll have all the Fender quality at my feet for a fraction of the price. Note, did this pedal copy the old G System?
Fender did an amazing job with this modeler i feel it it would be amazing modeler i think for me this modeler it would be in top ten of the best modeler digital 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🌞🌞🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Does a long Speaker Cable affect sound like a instrument cable does? Ive always wondered. Instrument cables usually have to be under 15' before any signal change.
So do you use your feet to engage the switches ? Means bending over to change settings ? Or on a table and change the switches with your hands eliminating the feet ? That’s the part I don’t get. Can someone please tell me what the go is
My unit produces hissing/grounded noise when plugged with auxillary cable. The same when it is connected to the mixer or amp. Do you think this is normal or a factory defect? My headrush doesnt have issue like this.
This may actually be easy enough to operate that may use it. I generally don't have a lot of patience to figure this stuff out. I woild much rather plug in and play.
Even though its packed full features with tons of adjustments it still sounds like all other Modlers out there(at least as they sound on TH-cam). I took a trip to the Sweetwater store a few months and was playing with all the modlers they had setup for demo and idk but I just can’t seem to get excited about any of the tones I heard. There is just this synthetic-ness to them that just puts me off.
In my mind a digital solutions will never substitute a real amp with his power ,sweetspots and living tone. But as an additional tool, for jamming home, specially you living in a flat where you dosent need power and trouble with your neighbours, that will be great thing to have a workstation like this. 😊

Can you run three effect blocks in parallel?
I'm having trouble determining if this unit can be used with regular guitar amps...anyone? I see studio monitors, but passive, or active?
Is "song mode" the equivalent of snapshot mode from the helix?
Does it good for bass too or only for guitars?
I want to know that, too
Fender owns the brands Sunn and SWR, I believe. It seems inevitable that those would eventually get added.
You can play bass through it as well. We'll also have bass models added at a later date.
