Why RIFTS is Really BAD in MultiVersus

- So I decided to try full RIFT in MultiVersus! I hate it. What is MultiVersus Rifts mode?
Rifts mode is a way for all players to jump into MultiVersus and progress their skills, outside of our competitive PVP modes. Each Rift will have a sequence of battles or challenges around a particular theme, whether it’s The Joker infiltrating the Batcave or Batman and Velma teaming up to decide who’s the best detective. These themes will be organized around seasonal “Attunements,” such as Chaos, for the Clown Prince of Crime who is joining our cast in Season 1. The same way every MultiVersus battle is bubbling with character interactions, we wanted to make each Rift “Uniquely MultiVersus,” every season.
When first diving into Rifts mode you’ll learn the basic systems and mechanics within a special Tutorial Rift, but soon enough you’ll graduate to Seasonal Rifts, which, have unique stages, skins, characters and mutators, that make them both memorable and challenging. Rifts get more tough as you progress, so it might take you an entire season to battle your way to the finish line.
While you can play Rifts mode entirely solo, you can also team-up online to play co-op with your pals. Co-op Rifts are a great way to earn rewards as a team and learn some teamwork to apply to other modes as well. It should also be noted that when you team up with friends, you’ll both share in the rewards!

It's gotten to where rifts are more sweaty than actual PvP matches. The insanity and looney difficulties are way overtuned
The rifts are easy if you just level up. Also you meant crushing (level 3) and insanity (level 4) because looney (level 5) isn't unlocked yet.
@DraconasTenZHG No I meant insanity and looney. Insanity is already hard enough so I know looney is going to be more bs. I literally get hit once and am at 50% on insanity. You say level up, but the top cauldrons are locked behind the fact you need another player to reach enough stars to achieve them
As a beta player who had all the roster, I didn't have any issues until the surf's up rifts.
Y'all want me to spend $20 on beach-ready characters? Then that reminded me new players have the same feeling "You want me to pay $10 to play as a Steven Universe character?"
Rifts are deceptively predatory.
It's an obvious "pay to progress faster". I played beta and had almost all characters and all my skins are from f2p events and twitch drops. I think you don't really need to get 5/5 rift rewards to get to level 9 before the max difficulty is unlocked and you can just play with friend to get 5/5 but it feels a little bit scammy. The beta players already got LITERALLY FREE BATTLEPASS and also we can get bonus objectives easier since we have more characters. I think if they wanted to paywall the rift progression, they could at least make it somehow equal for both newbies and veterans.
The game gives you beach skins for 2 characters (superman & Tom n Jerry) before this rift was launched. It's not pay 2 win

theres literally a free mission in that rift that lets you play as taz and his only selectable skin is a surfs up one. cmon man
As someone who just got to a higher difficulty in rifts literally yesterday, I feel like putting down the game forever. Rifts feel so unfair sometimes.
The rifts are actually easy. If you get to a point where you can't progress, then either you need to level up your perks or basically have an extremelly good neutral game.

Uninstall. I played since the beta but the new changes to me felt not much of a game but still a beta.
@@DraconasTenZHG Thing is, the AI opponents do more damage than me, even if I level up my perks (which in of itself is annoying because of grinding); and in matches where I'm forced to use a character I'm not good with, the game just becomes too frustrating so...
@@DraconasTenZHG See we already spent hours grinding the easier difficulties just to unlock the higher difficulties. Why would we need to grind even *more* after that point just to stand a chance. Plus at a certain point you become so over-leveled that the higher difficulty doesn't provide you any challenge, it just throws unfair damage numbers at you. It's really sloppily put together...
I got punched once and it took me from 0-87. Like......wtf?!
Missions bugging and not being completed even after I did then is facts but gem leveling not an issue to me I main pvp rarely ever play rifts didn’t even know there was a required gem level at first and yet still just by playing through I got everything needed/required

I'm kidding for real my favorite game mode is the volleyball game with iron giant I legit want that to be a mini game for pvp.
But there are some things I'd wish they do. Like I get they want players to play with friends, luckily I have a friend willing to suffer with me, but even when I play without him sometimes on the harder difficulties it be too much bruh. Especially when it's 2v2 like the npc teammates SUCKS ASS and mostly because it does little damage and still gets hit as hard as I do.
There is one line in rifts that I can't do at all. It requires a looneytoons character and Marvin was available at the time so I was using him but apparently it needed a specific Marvin because it specified The looney tools movie characters. And like what!? Isn't in the movie too?
I hate to be this guy bro but I really gotta ask you for the grinders out there who put in the extra effort I’m on battle pass level 76 or seven right now and the first time I leveled up the battle pass. It was 8k experience points. To prestige 👌 😎 And they rewarded me with 50 gleamium I thought it was lame, but cool until I leveled it up six more times expecting some kind of cheap skin that way for some prestige points but the reward has been 50 perk points for 4000 experience and I don’t understand do they not want me to play the game until the end of the season or only events now?

If they want to get more people playing rifts they gotta do something about the progression with gem level ups.The only way you get gem xp is through crates and the crates barley gives out any xp towards gems and it's even worse if you want to level up a specific gem category it's demoralizing it's such a hasal to level up.I quit rifts because of this

I truly dont mind grinding in games but the rift system of multiversus is just straight trash
-Still cant quit out of rift matches.
-Requires outfits for some rifts to even try
-rifts are so boring that playimg them with friemds feels like a waste of time for everyone especially since the rewards arent shared. (If i complete the challenge my ally should also get the challenge complete)

Thank you! For pointing out they had a whole year. Literally thet spent money on McDonald's ads and gave us like 3 characters. What are they doing. I tried rifts, got to surfs up, didnt have beach ready skin and closed the game. I will wait idc

@@Avataryaya ya that’s fair man. Personally I really enjoy the game even with its problems. I was a beta player so I have them all unlocked. I think they have a lot of work to do on the game fs but I still get on and do my daily’s lol
I was done with rifts when I realized that I had to get to different gem levels so I just do daily challenges and have fun 😂.

Rifts are disgusting.
In rifts, you only have one incentive: battle pass xp. Otherwise, it’s a mind-numbing time waster with nothing redeeming about it.

I agree. Both 1s and co-op are fun on level 3 or 4 but the first 2 difficulties just seem like a waste of time. The community would like this mode better if these difficulties were optional and the game didn't expect you to complete all the rifts 4 times all with bonus objectives. And the objectives are the worst part of the rifts. Instead of actually playing the game, you have to keep checking your objectives, count your upspecials and play specific characters you may not be interested in. And these objectives aren't even challenging, they just make these rifts MORE boring if anything.

I just hate how repetitive rifts are. You go up to a new difficulty and it's literally all the same stuff you just did. Same challenges too. It's just a little harder to complete. At the higher levels they are impossible to complete without your gems being leveled up enough to fight back. And the daily rifts just make replay the same things even more. Way too repetitive. I don't wanna have to beat the same boring rift 4 or 5 times for every difficulty.
It's a weird comparison but they should have done rifts like dungeons in Guild Wars 2 which have four difficulties and if you complete them on max difficulty, you get rewards for all the difficulties 1-4 combined. If I already worked my ass to get to level 9, I should be able to complete a rift on level 5 and have it count as 4 (or 5) boss kills. The amount of time you need to get to level 9 is high enough anyway.
Co-op vs Ai > Rifts
Granted back during co-op vs ai, you earned gold which was currency for characters and nearly everything else

Like a beat them up with platformer elements and animated cut scenes in story mode. I feel like they still tried but it came out more like a crappy mobile game

No it is not
Gameplay and Online is kinda fun unfortunately it's unbalanced as hell and what hurts the game is the free to play model. Completed several rifts maps, some are locked on the second difficulty and other like the 2 most hard difficulty require higher level gems, even buying upgrades for my gems with what i earned i still couldn't get it to the required level 7 or 9.
This game is a joke, the rewards now are pointless, i can't go forward unless they unlock the lower level rifts that are locked think i'm done with this "game" if you wanna call it that, played mobile games less stingy than this, their characters and skins are overpriced.
It's so mind numbingly boring and still feels like they put more effort into the rifts than online tbh

its VERY bad when I want to pay for a character instead of grind it. This whole game just feels.... bad. Half the time I play in 2's or 1's the game just disconnects on me. If it isn't I'm getting outlandish scenes of landing on the platform from a knock off, only to be destroyed, the game showing me I exploded from the bottom of the map as if I never landed on the platform at all. It's absolutely ridiculous and I just can't pretend to like it anymore. I wanted this game to be good fun and enjoyable, but every tiime I turn it on I feel like I'm being scammed out of my time and enjoyment. On top of that I lost nearly half the characters (The last character I bought was Black Adam, and didn't touch the gremlins or Marvin but did have everyone else), I had saved up tons of gold for new characters AND had free character coins. I have none of that now, and have been waiting all month for anything other than a soft promise of looking into it.
The game feels more and more like a scam every time I look at it.
Compared to the beta this game is straight 🗑️🚮 and a scam they nerfed everything into the ground its too many things to complain about with this game
I know you like this game but idk there's no saving this game anymore. They took all the good core mechanics and replaced it with worse core mechanics, theres no going back. And not enough people in the multiversus community with voices are addressing the problems at all, because they would rather just "enjoy the game for what it is" contently talking about balance when the core gameplay is flawed. Which makes the devs do mico patches slowly making the game mabye a fraction of what is was in beta. If we want to help the game, we should just stop playing to convince wb the way they dealt with the game killed it, and maybe they can go back into development and we can try again next year. 😒
Rifts are so boring there's no way they couldn't see it on play test. Everyday I see something about this game, I get less and less incentive to play it again
