How are you able to tell if the seat belt retractor pretensioner is blown? My driver buckle is blown with codes E2-11 and F1-11. My seat belt retractor was locked up but I was able to tap it free with a screwdriver. Just wondering if this means the retractor doesn’t need to be rebuilt. Thank you, and great video!

Unfortunately the retractor and buckle has a 1 time deploy component that u have to get rebuilt or replaced . Even if u manually free the seatbelt it will still show a red airag light and it will not deploy the next time the system detects an accident . Also u have to get the SRS module cleared of Crash Data .

@@aloolly thanks so much! I figured the retractor would also be blown, but it was confusing how easy it was to free it up. Do you know if the airbag module will have to be sent out & cleared again if you plug a blown SRS component (i.e. retractor) in after a reset?

@@christina2975 no you don't have to send it again . If it was cleared before and there was no second accident then it should be fine ..just replace all deployed components and reset OBD codes . All should be good

Unfortunately you have to replace the deployed parts and have to send the SRS module to be cleared of Crash Data ...then clear codes using OBD this will get the airbag light to turn off ..

I have 2012 civic and have the same problem, its showing F1-11, F2-11 (Driver's Airbag And/Or Driver's Seat Belt Tensioner And Seat Belt Buckle Tensioner deployed) after scanning..
I have changed both airbags and seatbealts, Do I have to change the buckles as well?
Also may I please know where do i have to send the SRS module to clear the crash data?

1st send your SRS module to be cleared of Crash Data . Depending on your location Toronto area or the US, I used safety restore and if u buy thru ebay they always have a promotion , there's also a local guy who does it in west Toronto I've used . After that's done u can re connect the SRS module and clear obd codes , if u still have seatbelt fault codes then the buckle have to be changed , you should also be able to see if the buckle neck is shrinked or collapsed it means it wad deployed ..

Hi I also have the same problem and not sure if I have to replace retractor or buckle . My retractor never got locked up and seems to be working fine. How do you tell if you have a retractor that’s is blown vs buckle? Would it say retractor on the code? I have code F3-11 Driver side air bag, left side curtain airbag, and / or seat belt tensioner deployed. Please help

@@jorgenewton5009 change the deployed air bags, if a seat belt buckle did not lock then it should be good, shrunk buckles should be replaced , need to take out the SRS module and clear crash data. Then put everything back and clear OBD codes and should all be good.
