I almost bought one in 1974 in original condition with no rust. The Hydramatic was not working. Asking price was one hundred dollars in Tucson Arizona.
First year that U.S. manufacturers adopted *quad headlights.* They were only legal in just over half the states and so, frustrated at the pace of their legal efforts, the car-makers just said, _"Screw it. We'll make it the states' problem, not ours."_
@@MrMotorama Yep, I just looked it up. Some Mercury, Ford & Imperials were available with quads *as an option in '57* for the states where it was legal. The only '57 which came *exclusively with quads* was the 1957 Nash Ambassador, as Nash believed enforcement would be nonexistent and that the laws would soon change. (Plus, several months into the model year, the 1957 Cadillac Eldorado Brougham changed to quads)
Oh yeah, in 58 GM slathered all the chrome and jet age doo-dads you might ever wish for. Underneath the metal body is a car. Oh wait, that was visible in the cheap-o base models. Thanks for the tour. The colors are very elegant. Go low and go slow. 👍🏼
Where are you? Im in the UK and its probably the only one here hence buying one without the air ride wasnt an easy option as there was no others available. It wasnt modified much for the air ride as its a coils all round car anyway and you could get them air ride from new. Here its a £35k car, its probably a 35-40k USD car i guess.
Difference between a 58 Chevy Impala and a 58 Pontiac Bonneville.
41 cubic inches upfront and 8 inches of height on the tail lamps

THE MEN THAT DESIGNED THESE CARS NEED TO BE RECOGNIZED. THIS IS EQUIVALENT TO MACKIE.
THESE CARS ARE SUPER RARE IN THIS CONDITION. THAT IS WHY THEY COST A FORTUNE TO OWN IF YOU CAN FIND ONE FOR SALE. BEAUTIFUL CLASSIC CAR
Sweet...
Love your car, thanks for posting. I have a '56 Star Chief Coupe so this is my style!

Always LOVED THIS CAR ! Such a beautiful design !
Incredible . I grew up Detroit . These cars are awesome ...
Damn that thing hit the floor and I fell in love, great color combo on this 58. Outshines a lot of impalas here in Los Angeles
An incredible car depreciated with the BS lowrider mess.
My guess is putting it back to stock would he pretty straightforward with no adverse impacts on value. One of my all time favorite cars
Can see that she and the 58 Chevy share DNA
9/1/24@1:33p m. This bad boy looks as good today as it did in 1958. VERY nice. This hardtop coupe was a lead Sledd but omg was it luxury to the max
GET OUT!
Wow work of art
Just an absolute beauty!
Serious question - can you ball-park what a '58 would sell for in this condition, minus the airlift (which is kinda cool, but not for me).

Lot of car for 35k, personally, I’d upgrade the existing air ride, real piece of fifties Americana
Пальчики оближешь...
I ❤ the Color Scheme and Styling 😊
Can't imagine what sport they were thinking of
