The ward Çiğar/Gigar is used to identify the biological relation to the person you are refering to or basically a relative, brother sister, etc. It is not used to anyone who you don't share the blood line with. An english equivalent to this could be Blood, for example; You are my blood. In turkic languages it is used in same context but we say you are my liver. In Uzbek we say "Sen meni Gigarim" .
As a native Urdu speaker, I could understand almost all words! It mean the world) 7) Aarzoo (Wish/Desire) 8) Dars (Lesson/Lecture) 9) Khalq (Creation, as in God's creation) 10) Jaan (literally meaning life/soul, but used as a term of endearment) Jaanam also means the same. 11) Jigar (Liver, but also used as a term of endearment) From the last sentence, I understood the word for nation - which in Urdu is "Millat" So interesting! Great job, guys! :D

"Ciğerim" means " my liver. " It actually has a nice meaning. It could mean " I can't breathe if you're not " . Or " i can breathe cause your presence." And also older people believe that "To be very upset makes tuberculosis." And your lungs (in turkish also called ciğer) damaged. If you call someone " ciğerim " that means, "you are like my healthy lungs. Glad to have you" or " I'd be sorry if I wasn't with you. I'd be tuberculosis. " Yeah. It's a complex thing.

In Turkish we call Kara Ciğer (Black Liver) to Liver and Ak Ciğer (White Liver) to Lungs. Thats why our culture relates "pangs of love" to the lungs.

It was a good video, but as someone who is fluent in both languages, I realized that many of the words they used were not original. For words like wish or enemy or something else we have a whole host of other equivalent words in each language. But this video was a good step to bring the two nations closer ♥♥♥♥
You are right, for example disman (enemy) is not kurdish while it was classed as a Kurdish but then Turkish word. Enemy is "Dijmin" in Kurdish, not disman

Dear Bahador your first Kurdish-Persian video with Sherzad was the best . I couldn't find it on the net . In this video Keyhan is doing very hard pronunciations that makes difficult to understand for other nations. Also Keyhan is doing some confusions at the end of the video. These are the correct meanings with Kurdish Latin alphabet which included both dialects; cîwan=young-cute, jan-jîyan-gîyan-gon=life, welat=country , herêm=region, gel-xelk-millet=nation.
Hi Muhammed, Thank you! That original video I had to take it down unfortunately because our Kurdish friend in it was not happy with the ugly political comments that came from it. We did do another one with Mahtab, have you seen that one?
@Roozbeh Siamakpour Assyrians of Iraq don't use the word "Jan" to say "Dear". However some Assyrians of Iraq say "bjanee" meaning myself. However the correct word to use for "myself" in Assyrian is "bnawshee". I think most words that involve the letter "J" are not of Assyrian origin.. except for some words that are sometimes mistakenly pronounced with a J instead of G like "Jarmeh" instead of "Garmeh" (meaning bones).
With all respects to all Turkish brothers and sisters , those Turkish people who arrived to Anatolia have picked loads of words from Kurds and Greek and Arabic language but the real Turkish language from Altay mountain are absolutely different.

Listing the cognates for the words I could recognise and meanings of them in Urdu:
1) Har kisee (everyone/anyone)
2) Dushman (enemy)
3) Anaar (pomegranate)
4) Khush ( In Urdu, it means happy)
5) Khoon (Blood)
6) Jahaan (the 'n' is a nasal sound, not fully pronounced. It mean the world)
7) Aarzoo (Wish/Desire)
8) Dars (Lesson/Lecture)
9) Khalq (Creation, as in God's creation)
10) Jaan (literally meaning life/soul, but used as a term of endearment) Jaanam also means the same.
11) Jigar (Liver, but also used as a term of endearment)
From the last sentence, I understood the word for nation - which in Urdu is "Millat"

"Ciğerim" means " my liver. "
It actually has a nice meaning. It could mean " I can't breathe if you're not " . Or " i can breathe cause your presence."
And also older people believe that "To be very upset makes tuberculosis." And your lungs (in turkish also called ciğer) damaged.
If you call someone " ciğerim " that means, "you are like my healthy lungs. Glad to have you" or " I'd be sorry if I wasn't with you. I'd be tuberculosis. "
Yeah. It's a complex thing.

Where did the painting on the wall go? I was actually searching for it in the background, nice video 👍👍👍
It will be back for the next video :)
Well, "ciğer" does not only mean liver, it is the lungs also. When you call someone "ciğerim" it is not "my liver", it is "my lung", which implies that "you are the source of breath". In a way, you say, you are in my chest, close to my heart.
Pişik =lungs
Ciğer =liver
🌹
for April fools day you should do serbian and croatian differences
Lol
Herkesi is the accusative form of the word herkes in Turkish
@@s_j_k91 in Turkish, we use it acusative way. i letter makes the word acusative.
Bahador, maybe you could do another series of videos with false cognates, instead of true cognates. maybe it would be harder to research it (and to the guessing game itself), but it would be cool. just an idea 😁
great videos. greetings from Brazil
That would be interesting. I'll see if I can organize it for a future video.
@@BahadorAlast
great! 😃
How did you managed to put Kurdish and Turkish on one table 😂😂😂😂
It was a good video, but as someone who is fluent in both languages, I realized that many of the words they used were not original. For words like wish or enemy or something else we have a whole host of other equivalent words in each language. But this video was a good step to bring the two nations closer ♥♥♥♥
You are right, for example disman (enemy) is not kurdish while it was classed as a Kurdish but then Turkish word. Enemy is "Dijmin" in Kurdish, not disman
Next video should be Turkish and Kazakh. This two language is very similar
Would love to! Hopefully a fluent Kazakh speaker in Toronto will reach out to participate soon!
Thanks for clarifying that the (variant of) Kurdish is Soranî, that is truly important; Bahador, please ensure the video titles reflect this too 🙏
Great video...
To be honest, I didn’t think this video was going to happen, but I’m glad it did. I’m all for brotherhood.
PS: Not all Kurmançî speakers understand Turkish.
Can we see a “Kurmançî & Turkey” language challenge?
Also,
Kurdish & Arabic
Woww sounds hindi/urdu too!! Thats soo cool!! 😍😍!
Dear Bahador your first Kurdish-Persian video with Sherzad was the best . I couldn't find it on the net . In this video Keyhan is doing very hard pronunciations that makes difficult to understand for other nations. Also Keyhan is doing some confusions at the end of the video. These are the correct meanings with Kurdish Latin alphabet which included both dialects;
cîwan=young-cute, jan-jîyan-gîyan-gon=life, welat=country , herêm=region, gel-xelk-millet=nation.
Hi Muhammed,
Thank you! That original video I had to take it down unfortunately because our Kurdish friend in it was not happy with the ugly political comments that came from it. We did do another one with Mahtab, have you seen that one?
Interesting!! We use Jan too however in Classical Syriac we also used the word “Kyana” ܟܝܢܐ meaning nature.
Only Assyrians from Iran use "jan" meaning it's a Persian word and not Assyrian.
Kurds are our brothers and Persian are neighbour love to both
The best channel ever
Please do an Urdu comparison with kurdish
We will try to organize that! Thanks for watching
@Mustö Han oh that's what you think. I found it pretty similar to Urdu
My great brother Kayhan you did great and I did watched your videos on your channels well done oh wait I am so proud of you bra gyan !!!!
With all respects to all Turkish brothers and sisters , those Turkish people who arrived to Anatolia have picked loads of words from Kurds and Greek and Arabic language but the real Turkish language from Altay mountain are absolutely different.
Ari Hamid so?
the girl is probably also kurdish has come from asimilated kurdish family and all the words they pronounce are also orriginly kurdish words 😅
