Your presentation its not the way the Embarrassing Bodies Doctors would present it. Women with autism we have a right to know how a female body works its a good idea to use an app so you can track the menstrual cycle, mark it off on the calendar. Cramps happen because the uterus is contracting its old lining if in doubt use a hot water bottle, you're corrected well done. It works wonders for me.
What happens when the person is non verbal and has PMLD but able to walk and has “challenging behaviour”?
Let me get this straight its more girls on the spectrum who need to know about female organs and menstruation should be presented in a positive light, its a natural life-giving thing. I myself an a woman with high-functioning autism and have studied Children's literature hence Little Red Riding Hood is to do with menstruation, you never know might need it for university one day.
My dad says as you're a parent don't bring up topics ,its strange and messes with the mind. In all truth and honesty they've to come to you first. It's actually your daughter who needs the information and a healthy conversation about menstruation. Making her wear a maxi pad everyday is not on, it could potentially irritate the lady parts, these big pads feel so like a stupid nappy, they're ridcrelous.
