My Aunt is a hairdresser and got me a professional straightener that I can choose the heat TO THE DEGREE. I love it. Now with these tips im GOOD TO GO lol. (Only once in a while don't worry)
And that without the ridiculous price tag Dyson asks. Dyson only loses to Apple regarding outragenous price tags for their status instead of the products they make.
Literally the modifications for different textures in your videos are so incredibly helpful! Thank you for always helping spread the knowledge and love for our hairs❤️ I hope your anniversary was amazing!
I love the advice, also some constructive criticism, I personally like my hair nearly pin straight when I choose to flat iron it. Your end result just looks like a sleek blow out and not a true press. It’s still looks great though.
I agree. I have very curly hair and I’m able to get bone straight hair using The Glam Twinz method and my hair always reverts fine I only do it two or three times per year.
Agreed. This is what happens if you use 65 degrees and only go over it once, no smoothing serum. If I wanted my hair too look like a blow out I would do a blow out.
I'm glad I'm not the only one thought that, my old not at all fancy straightener gets a sleeker result on lower temps than this really expensive Dyson one.
I think the key to sleek straight hair if you have curly hair is put extra moisture into your hair (for example leave warn castor oil in your hair before washing) and then let your hair air dry mostly, then blowdry when it's not soaking wet, as much as ucan and then go over it with a straightener for the necessary bits.
I was just thinking about straightening my hair too! I haven’t straightened it in almost two years because I’m scared of heat damage! This video will be so helpful thank you!!
constructive criticism POV this is too puffy , i mean when i want to make the choice to straighten my hair I would do it when i want it straight and not puffy , there is a difference between regular hair volume and puffy hair volume , and I’m getting puffy volume vibes from this look but it still looks good on you but not everyone can pull it off

Mell!! Happy Texture Tuesday. Although I've been commenting on the past videos, I'd like to say two things that I hadn't mentioned before: 1. I thank you for reading, answering, and taking into consideration what we say on the comments. That's really awesome. 2. I also want to thank you and Amanda for taking time to make these videos. I know this is a part of your job BUT I also know that, just like everyone else, you most definitely have your own life stuff and it must be hard to create content if you are ever not feeling at your best. Many many many people have felt alone during this pandemic. I have sometimes felt very sad. However, I want you to know the impact that you guys have made through this by being gentle to us, making us laugh, and promoting self-care through hair (which I also find wonderful). In a way, it's like having a friend from afar; and that's pretty cool. Thanks once more and God bless. PD: English is not my first language, so I apologize in advance for any grammar mistakes.
Awe Zoe!! Thank you so much for your thoughtful message. We are absolutely friends and Amanda and I are so happy to have brought you joy and education throughout this time. It's been difficult for all of us but I am hopeful that things will continue to get better! Keep the comments coming and let us know what else we can do, we'll be here creating for you! xoxo
We get to watch these videos for free. Mel and Amanda put in a lot of time and effort to make these videos. I'm happy to root for them when they get partnerships with brands so they can make some income from their hard work by watching sponsored or affiliate videos. Even if I can't afford a $600 straightener..
Kind of ridiculous that a company isn't ashamed of asking this price for an item probably made in the country that gave the world the V. I'd not buy it even if I could. There are good straighteners out there that do the same without the BS price tag.
Thank you so much for all of your videos!! I’ve been binging your videos for the past couple days. I just got my hair highlighted and have learned so much from your videos. My curls already look 100% better. You are doing the lord’s work for us curly girls!

Great video. After my last damaging attempt I thought I should never straighten again. You gave me confidence that I can do it without damage. My straight hair alter ego is Nikki. 😆. I see yours as Sasha.
Just bought the dyson hairdryer thanks to you it definitely is in a different league. It’s great to see the straighteners being used for realistic results. Maybe my next purchase once I’ve paid off the hairdryer 😊 x

I have a $160 curling wand and I did get my use from that over the last 3 years. I’m now trying to embrace my natural waves/curls. I used the dryer for the first time last night and so far I like it. Not sure it’s worth the price just yet! Gotta keep using it 😊

Lol. I was in the same boat and a week ago I did a blow out to straighten with a brush and without the straightener for the first time in a year, and my hair looked so shiny and smooth. It grew and it’s almost all brand new so the shine was incredible. The next time I washed it, it went all back to curly again, without frizz or losing any waves 🤷🏻♀️
@@roselynmvm oh that's good to hear, I bet it was a huge visual transformation. Glad it all went back without any visable damage. I can tell by my imporved hair health. That if I did flat iron it, it would look much healthier and more shinny then before. My haircut on the other hand I dunno 🤭.

I have long, thick, curly coarse hair. I've been doing this same process for the last 12 years and I'm done torturing myself. It was like exercising in a sauna to dry my hair in the bathroom. What's the point in taking a shower when you're covered with sweat afterwards? Now I'm thinking about cutting my hair in a long pixie. If it looks good, it would change my life forever. BTW, Dyson products are made in China and if you look under the hood, they are not all that.

Thanks a lot for all the detailed explanations and tips that you give for free on your channel, I appreciate it all love 🧡🧡
Has anybody else spent their whole life cranking the heat setting up on their curling iron because they thought the hotter the iron the faster the curl, or is it just me?
Have you tested out the blow dry brushes that are out there at all?? (The Revlon, drybar, etc) I’ve been debating one but I’m wondering about the heat damage from using those
I thought for years I had frizzy ends or split ends until I realized I have thick coarse wavy hair. I’d pick out hairstyles that were never gonna happen with my hair and not understand why. Now I get it! Lolol.
Is so nice to see your channel grow so much, like a pro working with big brands. You may want to do something about the quality of your audio, it has a lot of echo. I do a hair wrap when I want straight hair, in the morning I then only use the iron for the roots. Worked like a charm on very thin, pink hair for about 4 years, with minimal damage. Of course Iost most of my curl pattern. Great video :)
Well, I know what Hair Damage is! Years of Blow drying on High Heat, on my Super Dense, but Spider Web Fine, hair!!! I never truly knew, I had Curly Hair, until I gave up blow drying it on HIGH! The damage, is almost gone! One more Good Trim, and it will be gone! As always, Thank You❣️ You're amazing!!! I died at your comment about "Damp" hair! 😂🤣😂 You truly make styling your Hair, a Lot of Fun!
Do you have any tips on how to keep hair from reverting back or to keep it as straight as possible during a workout without having to apply heat through it again ?
i’m not mell (obviously) but if you still need some tips, from experience i normally put it up in a bun or ponytail or in a clip. then i spray my roots with dry shampoo so it can absorb some of the sweat. and then i just pray for the best lol.
I definitely want to see a review on the T3 LUCEA ID SMART FLAT IRON WITH TOUCH INTERFACE.. is it worth the $200-$300 price tag?! Does the personalization actually work?!

I thought for years I had frizzy ends or split ends until I realized I have thick coarse wavy hair. I’d pick out hairstyles that were never gonna happen with my hair and not understand why. Now I get it! Lolol.
Curly-Q Mell & Straight-laced Mell. Just throwing em out there! ☺
Looking good straight hair Melanie 😍
dyson + purple hair straightener = amazing!!!
Oh, I'm here and taking NOTES
How about if you do a roller set, will the result be the same?! Please make a video of this!!! I must say I got hype when I heard tubi!!!🇩🇴🇩🇴🇩🇴
Great advice. Thanks for info on Dyson tool because I have mixed Latin American hair.
“Damaged from within” Dont know why that took me out 😂😂
Omg when she mentioned the tubi I screamed 🤗
TEAM EDWARD FOR LIFE OMGGGGG YES LOVE YOU
Very Mellegant 😍💁🏽♀️
PS my arms got tired just reading the title of the video
YESSS! 😄😄 Thank you so much for this lol I needed this video in my life
You look like rapunzel when you straighten your hair!!!!!😍
havent straightened my hair in like 10 years lol. this was so helpful, thanks!
What dryer do you suggest when you can’t afford the Dyson? I feel like I use the dryer forever and it causes damage for both curly and straight.
As long as the heat is comfortable on your scalp/skin, it won't damage your hair
Yess I have been waiting for this!!!!
Her hair is gorgeous, curly and straightened ☺️
Love ! But can you make a video with a affordable flat iron, would love to get a Dyson but both dryer and flat iron together is almost 1000$
Not Dominican but I know about wrapping my straight do..lol. I haven’t straighten my hair in over a year so going to try it.
Your are an amazing teacher. Thank you so much.
Exactly what I needed. Thank you, as always, Mel!!
Thank you!! Very helpful to know not to air dry first. Definitely made that mistake before because blow drying takes forever and I’m lazy! 😂
I rarely straighten my hair but I loved this video!!!
If l could afford that Dyson believe me I'd get one. But its way to expensive for me. Mel your hair came out beautiful though 😍
Chi is pretty good some minis are $60
A dominican over here! Tubi!! A classic form of maintaining your hair hahaha! ♥ love your videos
Minute 10:02 someone creepily enters the bathroom, it was really funny... I've been binge watching your videos Mell, keep it up, you're awesome!
I did so much wrong omg. Thank you so much for this 🥺
I definitely want to see a review on the T3 LUCEA ID SMART FLAT IRON WITH TOUCH INTERFACE.. is it worth the $200-$300 price tag?! Does the personalization actually work?!
I would have no hair left if I ran that kind of brush through it that many times. Literally every time I *touch* my hair I get a handful of hair fall. Honestly, I'm amazed every day that I still have hair on my head because so much of it comes out.
I have the same problem!!!
See a dermatologist. Get your thyroid checked. Good luck!
@@ambernoland1506 I've done both of those. Thanks?
I just listed when you mentioned the Tubi🤣🤣🤣. Love your channel!!! Just got the Dyson hair dryer and it's amazing!!!
