- This week on ‘Has It Aged Well’ Abbas and Urjita are joined by actor and producer Akshay Jha to talk about the stylish 2002 smash hit ‘Kaante’. Topics discussed include: The ‘cool’ quotient of the film, how Kaante compares with ‘Reservoir Dogs’ and what’s the Indian connection to that film, what’s up with the green tinge in the film and we recount our most badass characters and moments in the new ‘real badass’ segment.
This episode is part of our ‘Badass’ movie series in association with our friends at Wildstone perfumes. Check out their new badass range of fragrances: Whiskey, Cigar and Ammo available right now.

I absolutely loved the episode. Akshay Jha deserves his own Ivm podcast. He is so so cool . He can do a sexual awareness/sex is shown incorrectly in movies.
Fav comment. Hopefully IVM will take note
Loved Akshay Jha as a guest.
I was in Class Tenth and I watched this Movie FDFS.
THIS MOVIE WILL BE ALWAYS NEAR TO MY MEMORY.
So many cuts in the episode. Now i want to see the full uncut episode. #releasethedirectorscut
Gaddar (1973) was based on The KIlling and The Asphalt Jungle, and A Better Tomorrow was Based on The Brothers (1979) which was a remake of Deewar. Intertextuality at best.
You guys should have got Vrooon Thakur for this one!! This could've been a killing episode!
I so second that. Nothing against Akshay but this is too big a movie and deserved a big guest.
Oh Thakur needs to be on the show guys
One correction in Reservoir Dogs they robbed a jewellery store like city on fire and I would also say Andy also has a bit of Mr Pink as he took the bag, he then ran followed by an eventual killing/arrest by the cops. Mr Pink did the same thing in Dogs but the cops were waiting right outside and caught/killed him. As for the chor na re song it was just them letting their hair down after intense planning and also conforming to the stereotype that Indians will pull out a dance step even in the most serious situations. As for Mcquarrie telling Mac to go along my guess isn't that he thought Mac was disposable it was more so because he wanted to catch the robbers red handed and he would have multiple witnesses to build a stronger case. There is also the real life example of the FBI using Joe Pistone Aka Donnie Brasco (an Italian) to infiltrate the Mob so it's possible that idea might have also been used by Sanjay Gupta similar to how he used rumours in the film Shootout at Lokhandwala.
0:01 just recently watched it #QuentinTarantino said it’s his favourite movie of the 2000s era Bollywood #LisaRay lost the opportunity to dance in #MaahiVe she opted out it was sanju who said take Big B and other the distributer said who will watch 40+ actors #YearsOfKaante
Talk about Musafir and Zinda
I too thought this was the coolest film ever back when it came out but I have gripes. Firstly when we see Ajju go down a hill to escape the shooting, at the bottom of the hill we see Mcquarrie ready and waiting with a gun pointed at him how did he manage to overpower Mcquarrie in that situation? Secondly in Dogs because we never see the heist we're supposed to fill in the gap of how Mr Blonde managed to get a cop in his trunk. Where did Ajju keep Mcquarrie for so long before he reached their hideout it wasn't a car because it looks more like a big crate than a car trunk in Kaante. How exactly did he manage to put him there even after he overpowered him?
Good to see Wildstone sponsor this show
I’m 2000 born and My dad got the original 3 part VCD of Kaante and it has been my favourite movie since then and I’ve watched it like 1000 times easily. I’m 10 mins into this video. Hope you guys say what I want to hear 😂
You guys should do a podcast about Agneepath.
Mahesh was tye best part of the movie
The thing with Abbas's trope, where is tries to be that classy guy to loves to shit on Bollywood movies is not really aging well for me. 😉 Agar itna he classy hai to Bollywood ke movies pe show kyun kar raha hai bro, Hollywood pe kar na.
That's absolutely a good point.
Bro he is trying to land a job at film companion
Wanted movie podcast pending.. comeback movie of salmon bhai
Jab tak bujurg actor's ko bhai bolte rahoge tab tak bollywood garbage banata rahega bollywood is just b grad industry 😂
BEST EPISODE
One of the promotional materials I remember is that the film and its cast were first announced at some award show in 2000-2001 I remember being surprised to hear Lucky Ali acting in a film. I also remember the film's music came out much earlier and the film faced a delay in its release at the time they said the producers were involved in some argument but the argument was eventually settled. I also think Lucky Ali didn't pursue acting much, particularly because he didn't want to be associated and/or compared with his father Mehmood. He also didn't pursue many Bollywood songs largely because he wasn't/isn't fond of the Bollywood system of music and owing to recent revelations by singers e.g how they don't get paid by record labels for singing in Bollywood films not to mention how much more toxic the topic of nepotism has become while concerning Bollywood his views do hold some weight.
Urjita's alternate ending is Shahid's Chutzpah explanation story in Haider😂
Director : LOL! 🤣🤣
Please do one on Sarfarosh!
You know what? Do a very old classic Hindi Film like Khamoshi(1969), so that both Abbass & Wani will be on the same page!
Indian cinema is all about actor's and hero worship
Get rohan joshi again. I can hear him all day. Easy on the eyes too. ❤
Get Varun thakur for any Shahrukh/Salman movie. Trust me it's gonna be fun!
Hey guys, i have a recommendation of a 80s movie called "karma" since, republic day is coming it will great episode
Snaynil has done a part of it in of the episodes. He loves it.
I like Kaante because I am sick of Bollywood singing & dancing. I wish every Bollywood movies should be like Asian movies like Old Boy.
Urjita loves Suniel Shetty 👍
I really hated the green tint of this movie. The video quality is very bad of this movie
Jab bhi AWARA PAGAL DEEWANA ka podcast karo please mujhe bulaana , I will be good fan guest of your podcast.
Gangs of wasepur do plz
This show is not picking up TRP only due to Urjita, irritating to the core and wannabe buff… she has no clue what she is doing.
Koi please Urjita ko kaske jhaapad lagao yaar. Irritating aur unfunny hai woh bilkul. Ya mereko address do main lagata hoon usko do jhaapad
Toh mat dekh na yaar. 😅 apne ko paise nahi mil rahe hai dekhne ke.
We love Urjita. She's hilarious. If you dont like her move on instead of threatening violence
BUT HONESTLY I DIDN'T LIKE THIS SHOW.
I wish only Akshay was speaking in the episode, what is wrong with the hosts🫤🫤🫤
Gangs of wasepur do plz
