Very helpful thanks

I am going to buy ring doorbell
Thank you so much. Seeing your video made me realize it's not so hard to install. So I went out and bought a floodlight pro and just finished installing it and setting it up. Thank you again. Your video really helped!
So far I only have one of the 5 up. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxOXxsTZ3ptV_Pk0fFl8bNZvVqeoqBQFwe My son ran out of time, with motion detector etc. I have it over my garage door. It works great. Have seen a couple of cats, my dogs, when I am out front. And had a bee buzzing around right in front of it. It works very well. It even shows the neighbour's driveway, but only shows movement just past my own, which is very long. I highly recommend them.
Thank you! 😘 Every electrician in my area is booked 80 years out...😒 I feel confident I can do this myself!
Which area , I do electrical work
Did u figure it out? I will be running wire to the camera but i dont know where to tie it in to the home
Awesome step by step tutorial. Thank you..!! 👍
Don’t trust the test button, you could have a malfunction on the light but still have voltage on your wires. It’s best to use a voltage tester to ensure the absence of voltage before you begin working on replacing the light
I grabbed the + and the - one time! It’ll tickle you ! Try it!😂
I had another wire hiting the wires I shut off and it shocked me lol. So now I shut off the entire house to be safe.
Very thorough and very helpful. Thanks man!
Dude, that was a great install video!👍🏽
Thank you so much! I'll be able to install this on my own thanks to your video! I appreciate this a ton!
Great instructions man !
Great break down of this camera light. I really appreciate the details on how far away yours is verses walls etc. mine is about the same distance. Thank you!!

Thank you for creating this excellent video. I'm learning how to do everything on my own as new, single home owner. It's a lot of work, but I'm getting the hang of it and learning so much as I go. 🛠️
You NEED A MAN
@@tv-21 Maybe you need a man.
Same!!!!! We can do this haha I've surprised myself with the amount of things I've been able to do on my own. Videos like this are a godsend.
Nice job, that was very useful, thank you!
Nice video. It was exactly what I was looking for to set up sting camera.
Thanks for the tutorial, is always good to now how to do it. 👍💯
Great presentation…wish i had seen it before i put mine up!
Made me look like a winner God sent thanks bro
If you're trying to install the Ring Floodlight cam (model # 2210C-XYZ) with a 5" base and you need a junction box for it, you'll discover that round junction boxes with 5" diameters are very difficult to find. The large majority of them are 4".
I finally found one that'll fit. It's the Grainger Surface mount wiring box, 5", White (model # 14G265).
But, bear in mind that Grainger has really odd hours. They close at 4 pm on weekdays, and they are closed all day Sat and Sun.
I appreciate the details.
Where's the white backplate from? I have a rectangular flood light backing onto the house (brick). Instead of having to cut out a whole, I'd like to use one of those plates and just have the wiring come through and put the circular backplate over that.
Nicely done my problem is the flood lights originally there are up under the eve's I've read people having problems with ring putting them up there.
Mine is malfunctioning ring sent me a new one and now this video will help me to replace it. I paid 150 for the first installing, I am not paying any more to just switch the camera. I let you know the outcome. Wish me luck!!!! Amazing video so far!
i just put mine up....
ground to ground
black to black
white to white
installed, powered back on...
=NOTHING.
(PUSHED THE BUTTON ON TOP, NOTHING)
@@TonyStark-sj3kl contact Ring they will be able to send you a new one
@@kathybustamante7347 definitely,...thank you!
That hook would have made my job easier when I was installing balcony lights on a high rise thanks for the idea
You made it easy to install
Great job on the video what is the recommended hight that the light should be. Thank you
It would be cool if ring made it so that you can move the camera on the app
That would add cost.
It would also be way cool if the could power it off your wifi. Lol
Yesssss I bet that’ll be next
Ring keeps yalls footage lol
Mount it upside down and flip the camera? Just a thought. I haven’t tried it yet.
Excellent content - well produced!
When putting stranded wires to solid wires you don’t twist the wires together rather you put the stranded wire slightly higher/longer then the solid wire then use the wire nuts as normal and you will find it makes a way better connection it helps to twits the stranded wire by it’s self to tighten the strands together
Good job pointing out the correct way.
Once I set light schedule up for garage area will motion light up the security lights when lights from schedule are off?
I have 3 spotlight cams but I just ran the wire yo the outside outlets through metal tube and got lock boxes for the outlets but what u did looks a lot cleaner 👍
Is it a plug at the other end?
Does it have a backup battery in case of power outage ? (assuming router and modem has a UPS)
Thanks well done
Thanks you so much 😊
Great explanation, broke everything down. Simple and clear.
Not a difficult task but I'm sure it was extremely helpful to a lot of newbies
Only if you had flood lights….
Hey, just wanted to say thanks, you saved me time and can the manual be any smaller. The hook is now a nylon strap which worked fine and they never mention using the handle to tighten down the nuts in the end. Thanks again
Nice. Real nice.
Great video
Loved your video…. Can these floodlights replace existing out door light with a switch that turns the lights on and off?
Is the installation the same if the existing floodlight is turned on inside by a normal switch?
Good job 👍
Thanks for showing how to setup the wiring inside thr house
Excellent video
That was a great presentation. I really believe I can do it myself by watching your instructions.
Thank you so much !
I just have a standard outside light operated by a switch on the wall of my home at the front and back doors. Will this still work? I do not have a flood light installed currently. But I do have 120v AC connected to the existing lights.
im impressed with people who mess with wires like that. I would never lol
Thank you 🙏 😊
Thank you
That strap is really handy but if you have stucco I highly recommend a towel. I’m a perfectionist and that stucco scuffed it a little
Where are those electricals that provide power to the light come from? I would like see where the wires from the electrical box to the light itself.
Very helpful. Wasn't sure I could do it. Second flood camera I've put up now
I took down a ring spot light that now I wish to re install. It’s asking me to scan a cube that I don’t have. Is there any way to reinstall it
I love cameras
Thanks
Does it turn on and off through motion? Or can I turn it off completely whenever I want to?
I have my lights mounted on my soffit will this unit work
My house has security lights under the eavment (eavesment?) eavments?) …uhh do you think it will be possible to mount horizontally?
my wireless router is far from the flood light. will the wifi extender work?
So the copper wire from the house house to the grounding screw and the ground wire from the light just gets capped?
Got my device setup. I see the lights are either on all the time or not at all. The motion sensor is working. But I want the light to come in if someone walks in front of it. Advice is settings?
Is this floodlight motion activated? My existing floodlight is on a switch, so if I put a ring doorbell there will the switch need to constantly be on? Will that mean the lights are always on?
I would recommend putting electric tape around them caps after you attache them . Just to make sure wires don’t touch
They won’t. That’s what the wire nuts are for. They act as an electrical tape replacement.
It's installed but I am having trouble with the setup. Keep trying but ring network is not showing up to join. Any suggestions?
The Set up and Activation is more complicated than necessary!
how high can i install it? does it detect more than 9 feet?
How high from the ground can this be installed?
"Honestly better than the one that was already here." Makes sense, it costs 10x as much as the old one. Lets see if the ring floodlight is still around in 20 years like the old one-- I don't have high hopes.
I have a red wire left do I just cap it heard it was optional
I don't have a flood light installation setup. I have a regular hard wired camera that is useless. How do you install the flood light camera?
How do you adjust the light so that it only comes on when it detects motion? Thanks
Yell into the camera
I put one up but having trouble with light does it only come on at night
Can i install this where i currently have an outdoor porch light that you can turn on and off with a switch and just leave the switch on? great video.
I need this on the side of my home but I'm afraid the neighbors movements will activate it. How accurate if any are the adjustments to prevent this?
Excellent video! Can i install that camera where the old bell box alarm is at the front of the house? Can I use the wires from that bell box? It's a wired alarm that i don't use and it will changed to a wireless alarm. Thank you
Watch the video, if it has similar wires it probably has the same power running to it and you can use it.
Kindly let me know if it can be mounted on ceiling instead of the wall ?
that will be great help
Thank you
Yes if you have wiring on the ceiling
Can that bracket go on a octagon box
It says for outdoor use. Mine has water inside the camera and led light housing, It is trashed.
What if the old floodlight had no ground wire attached??? I didn't see no copper wire either from the junction box
Why would my light not turn right on if its hard wired and my voltage test shows the lines are good?
Do you know if you can leave the lights in from dusk till dawn through the app or do the lights only function with motion? Thanks
In the ring app you can set up a schedule for when the lights are on
Thank you so much for explaining I have a question how can u install this camera on a mobile home or you can’t ????????
If there’s power to any light fixture outside and you have wi-fi then it can be installed no problem.
The lights on the camera flicker on and off all night. Do you know what the problem may be?
Do you have to turn off juice or can you carefully install with protective needle nose plyers as long as you dont cross/touch the opposite wires?
TURN POWER OFF. Also don't trust that the power is off by doing what he said. Both if your bulbs could have went out even if you just checked them. You should get a voltage test pin to verify the power is off. They are not very expensive and could save you life.

Can I replace my 110 back yard light with this? or does it require 220? Thanks
I did all this but the light on the left will not turn on but everything else works ok.
Where did all the little connecting wires come in didn’t see u pull the on the floodlight before the installation
I’ve got a second story floodlight will that work well?
Yep, might have to mess with the motion sensitivity to make sure you capture everything.
Not electrician here , you went little fast on ground wire, so the ground from house goes around the green screw on plate then connects to the ground from spotlight? Tia
What about my front porch light? Can I remove the front porch light and replace it with the Ring Cam ?
Was wondering the same thing
Do you use every screw in there for installation? Just asking cause i have a lot of left over screws
You are supposed to have a lot of leftover screws. Read instructions much?
My neighbor has super bright led lights aimed in my bedroom. Is there a shield accessory for these security lights to keep the light on the owners property instead of trespassing into my home?
Trespassing? Ever heard of curtains? Lmao
Are the bulbs replaceable? If not, what happens when one stops working?
They are led lights they won't go out for a while atleast 10 years I'm a electrician these are easy to install and set it up you will need a strong wife connection near the flood light that is really important
@@charli9184 I had led flood light on my house a couple years now and it just burnt out. Didn't last long at all so I'm looking to replace it with this. Since you're an electrician, I changed the lightbulb for under my microwave and now when I plug it in, the nightlight stays on and doesn't turn off. Is this an easy fix?
$139.99 now! I just purchased 3. 🇺🇸
Can you replace a standard outdoor light (not a flood light) with this?
Yes
Is this adjustable to where I can hardwire it to a ceiling?
Yep
What button on back of ring
Hi sir We just connect the floodlight but dont work complete. My phone don’t ring when someone is outside, please tell me we did something wrong???
I want to silent voice command on it how can I do it
Thanks vid my house got broke into had 2 guns stolen they crowbar back door I'm buying 4 of these 2 for my house and 2 for my mother's thanks
Ok that’s cool but how do you get the wires ? I have none
Need an electrician to pre-wire it
My flood light is being set off by car lights driving by. WHat setting do I need to change to stop this happening yet not loose the sensitivity that would pick up a person (for example)? Just putting it out there that the LACK of information to set up the boundaries, sensitivity etc that comes witht these products is enough for me not to purchase another one 🤦♀🤦♀🤦♀🤦♀. Thank you in advance for any help you can offer to fix my problem.
