@@nighthawkvc25a - Not really, I’ve tested these a lot of times and there is really not much of a difference…and watch my original reviews of each camera and you will see the one with LTE connection.
This was a really concise, detailed and well organized video. Thank you so much for the time and effort and showing the differences. Definitely going with the Plus
With midyear sales going on right now, your video was made very comprehensively, and with systematic effort! Thank you for doing that and for sharing your findings. I agree that there really isnt much difference between the Plus to the Pro, and what difference there is, is mostly software based. Thanks again! Salamat!
This is an absolutely fantastic job. Plus is on sale, but I thought I might want the pro. Looks like the plus is just as good, and audio actually sounds better to me.
I love the WAGO nut connectors; they are amazing! Also, thanks for doing a fantastic comparison. It was very professional, technical and objective. I was leaning towards the Plus model to begin with your videos sealed the deal for me!
Thanks for the video and thorough review. I ordered the PLUS based on this content with the Echo Show 5. I also love and ordered the WAGO connectors which I never knew existed LOL.
Thank you so much for all the time and testing you've put into these videos. I've been binge-watching them, trying to figure out which floodlight cam to buy. I am tempted to buy one Eufy and the Ring Floodlight Plus.
What a video! Wow! this guy took some time to make this for us. I am going to like, comment and subscribe to show my thanks. Thanks a lot bro! Well done!
First and foremost thank you for the reviews. I literally bought 2 sets of both cameras with both being on sale but, really can't decide. Haven't opened either. Being a tech person see always wanting the latest in tech. It just feels like the pro model is stop gap and the plus is spare parts from previous generation or refurbs.....lol
Thanks for this comparison! I am looking at both cameras and just couldn’t see much of a difference by comparing the specs! Your comparison is just what I needed!
One point to go with pro V’s plus is my mesh network is mainly 5.4ghz. So using the older wi-fi is more of a hassle for me to set up an older network or buying more ring chimes to keep them connected.
Why not have a system that supports both 2.4 AND 5.0 ghz? Yes, 2.4ghz is slower, but it's PLENTY fast enough for security cameras, and it reaches much further than 5ghz does. 2.4ghz penetrates walls and objects better that 5ghz also.
Thank you for review. I wasn't sure about trying to convince hubby in investing in extra cost. He was so relieved when I said not much difference to justify cost.
Solid Review. Helped me make a decision, going with the plus. Also - big props to your grass dude, at first I thought it was fake it was so perfect. You must live in Houston area, only way you can get enough water to keep it that nice.
You deserve far more likes than you received. Fantastic comparison between the two. I can't stand the video quality on my first gen floodlight. It's terrible that I can barely make out vehicle models at 25ft. Looking to upgrade.
Thanks for the comprehensive video. I got the Plus because the picture is brighter than the Pro and especially with night vision where you can see things at a distance that are too dark to see with the Pro. Colour rendering is better on the Pro but that is not too important for a security camera. The audio is also better on the Pro but since I have a Pro 2 Doorbell, that is not a problem in my use case.
Also stuck with the Plus since I already know they work just fine. Maybe I will wait it out for the next-level Pro offering in the future. But for now there is too much price difference. Appreciate your video
At about the 12:27 mark I heard a notification that said "Motion on your floodlight cam" instead of the default twinkling bell sound. How do I enable this on my Floodlight Plus?
Great work, I have and old flood lights to light up my yard at night. I have to flip the on\off switch a couple of times in order for them to stay on. I was hoping that this lights could be an up upgrade for security and not having to come in to the house to manually turn them on but I still don’t know if they can handle that basic function since it’s not mentioned on the packaging or the review videos I’ve come across.
Excellent video, I am new to this as we are a purchasing a home in a new area. I want to put up atleast 3 Cameras. Your comparison was great and very thorough. Thank you!
Thank you, LifeHackster. I really appreciate the thoroughness and time you put into the videos. I need to make a decision and you've definitely helped me.
Thank you new home owner and this video helped me decide to go with the plus as I saw no major difference other than the color. Saves me alot. Thank you. Also what modem did you use to have Alexa pull up the video footage.
^At the end they are pretty similar would u say? Which would u pick? I was going to buy it from Costco cause u can return it in 3 months if it sucks.... but also i don't want to waste a electrician visit.
This review answered a lot of questions! well done. Can I turn on the floodlights without accessing the App or interfering with the operation of the camera? Many Wifi lights require one to turn off and on the physical switch a couple of times to enable the lights. Also after power failure, what are the defaults for the lights on or off or configurable?
Also I love how you don't actually say Alexa in the demo, but have it typed out. I can't tell you how many reviews I've watched where people say her name and then set mine off. Heck, even Amazon's commercials do it. Thank you for being smarter than them.
You did a nice job with this. Ty. Hard to decide which to get. I like the better color of the pro but the plus has better motion sensing with the light which still matters
Keep in mind that in the Pro, the motion sensing is heavily software based, and will probably be refined in the future making it better. Ring is very good about updating their products firmware. The older camera is P.I.R. based for motion sensing, and what you get is what you get. It can't be changed or refined by an update.
the plus lights looked like it had a wider throw and the night was better on the left side where the pro was dark. plus even activated the light at 40 ft. other then the vibrant color of the pro i think the plus is better even had 2 db on the siren
I returned my Ring Floodlight Pro, the light output was falsely advertised. It doesn't brightened up my driveway like my old Ring Floodlight which I now have reinstalled.
That’s why I’m putting this one by my back door so we’re not blinded by the bright lights from our original ring floodlight & im putting the original one over the driveway
Thanks for the video! I was really hoping that 3D motion was correcting the following but maybe it is not. Normally motion is detected as objects move side to side across the field of view (x axis) and generally struggle with detection for objects moving in a straight line to or from the detector (y axis) . 3D motion is intended to remedy this by having better detection in the y axis of movement. This is one of the main reasons that I would upgrade and was hoping to see it in action here. Thanks again!
The issue that you are talking about is for PIR based motion systems (battery powered cameras) but the 3D radar detection is only available on their pro 2 doorbell and the pro floodlight cam which uses camera based or pixel based detection and uses their AI or algorithm in detection motion. This doesn’t suffer from the issue that you are pointing out.
You're amazing!!!!!!!!!! Thank you!! Do you have a link from where to buy the old Floodlight cam that you like that has been 100% reliable and isn't all plastic?
Very awesome Presentation of both units. Just what I needed..thank you so much! I ended up buying the plus I think the pro is just not worth the extra hundred..ps.. what is that little screen you’re watching everything on?not phone..lol. Thanks again!
Thanks for this review. With the black Friday offers there is 21% off the pro and 28% off the plus...so getting the pro at the full price of the plus...I think I will get the pro
Also something to note is "Wired" means it is wired because of the lights not for network connection. IMO I wish there was a way to wire the connection because I turn off WiFi at night.
I just realized I made a little mistake in a part of this video..let me see who can find it first...sorry, I thought I turned it OFF :)
WiFi was on. Awesome review though.
Yes, you are right…I didn’t realize it until the video was already uploaded…
So, the tests beyond the 9:39 mark in the review are essentially void?
@@nighthawkvc25a - Not really, I’ve tested these a lot of times and there is really not much of a difference…and watch my original reviews of each camera and you will see the one with LTE connection.
You need to consider all of the other cameras night vision almost all of the other cameras can see other night vision from other cameras BTW
I can honestly say, your thorough testing and comments are extremely helpful. They are the best TH-cam reviews I have ever seen to date. Thank you.
