THANK YOU SO MUCH! - this video bought back so much of Camino 2015 for me, I remembered so much of it and now I am determined to walk SJPP to Santiago to Muxia in 2024 - and for someone who can never walk this way again 🌻💖🌿 now back in Australia after walking to Santiago in memory of my beautiful wife Nick 🌻 thank you so much for these videos as they helped me make the decision to do it all again 🇦🇺 🇪🇸
what should I write to you...? I can't thank you enough for the beautiful video. I walked the entire Camino Francés in 2021 and the crossing of the Pyrenees will never be forgotten and thanks to you I now have it all on video, even the steep path that I walked, in the same weather conditions! i love you for that, thank you... the sleeping eagle
As a "Camino TH-camr" let me just declare it now..you win. These are incredible and such a great idea. I don't know what camera you used to do this, but I'm not sure anyone will understand how much work this must have been. Well done.
Thank you so much! It started out as side-project/as a documentation of how I would photograph the camino with vintage cameras on black and white film (first one back in 2013). But after watching the videos from 2019 (also recorded the whole camino francés) I felt like filming it again but solely for the video and not as documentation:-)
This is the best TH-cam video I’ve seen of the walk - just let the magic of the trail speak for itself! I’ve made up my mind this day next year 2024 (16 Apr) I will be in St Jean ready to start my pilgrimage, thank you thank you thank you 🙏🏻
Felicitaciones !!!
Just came back from Santiago de Compostela (without doing the Camino walk), and have been fantasizing about the pilgrimage walk, reading the novel the pilgrimage by Paulo Cohelo. Thanks for sharing this! Precisely what I needed for my future info and also to see what's like from other ppl's perspectives. I am watching this after work and definitely had a calming effect! Wishing you a safe journey ahead if you haven't completed it yet. Have a feeling you are probably done by now. If you are done, I hope you are resting well!
Thank you so much for your kind comment! I`m glad it had a calming effect eventhough it`s playing so fast. I recorded it 2020, that`s why there are so few people on the camino (compared to other times). Thank you!
Great video! I saw it last February and in May I walked the Camino from SJPP. I divided this etape in two days (I stayed at Auberge Borda, 1 km after Orisson). It's SO GOOD to review it now! Thanks a lot!
I just did the Camino Frances this year, and I miss it. This helped me reconnect! Funny, though, to see what took me 11hrs to complete compressed down to 11 minutes. 😂
Fantastic! As someone who has done the full Portuguese Central from Lisbon and the Portuguese coastal from Porto this has really motivated me to make the Frances my next Camino in 2024. What a beautiful idea to film it in time lapse and the music made it epic 😊
Thank you very much for watching. You`re right, same impression too compared to my first camino in 2013. Only the van selling delicious cheese has always been there on the way up;-) Hope you have an amazing Camino this summer!
I just saw this for the first time as I am researching to walk the Frances. I will divide this stage into two and stay at Borda and then possibly Burguete. Its so helpful to see the stage and to know what to expect. I know its going to be so hard but I am confident I can do it. Thankyou.
Hi, thank you very much. Unfortunately I was not very consequent with this, since I just can`t seem to find enough time for this project. The last videos have no more short versions, I`m very sorry.
Stop running hahaha A few years back, there was a Korean guy that filmed the whole walk as yourself... Took me forever to watch his videos from SJPDP to Santiago (I loved it). I like this time-lapsing as well. I got a GoPro Max and Galaxy S21 cell phone that I can do this but I like to go off trails and explore. lol Thank you for taking your time to create your videos to share with us. :)
😂 Thank you so much for the comment! Taking the time and exploring things is the best!! Only in 2020 I walked the Camino with a focus on these videos after having walked the entire Camino Francés 6-7 times before.
@@CaminoTimeLapse @Camino Time Lapse OMG, wow, now I know who's to come to when I got questions about CdS. :) I plan to take like 90 days on CdS. I live in USA, was gonna walk back in 2020 but "Oh well"... I'm ready now but I'm gonna wait a little longer. My friends got to SJPDP for a day and got sent home. They were so heart broken... :( Anyway, I'm watching your Day 2 now. :)
Hermoso! Qué buena idea haber hecho el time lapse.
1. Did you use a GoPro or what? No problem battery lasting entire way? 2. I’m surprised there are cars on the way! 3. I guess the way is well marked, as you made lots of turns, especially off the road onto grass paths? 4. Do you know the minute marker on the video where you are at the top and have the choice to take the left path (treacherous), or easier (recommended) right path? I don’t want to go left by mistake! 5. Best video of crossing the Pyrenees to Roncesvalles I’ve seen. I begin in 4 days…….
I`m so sorry I missed to answer your question. Have not been logged in for a long time. I see you must have already completed your way now. I hope it was wonderful🎉
Wow! That was beautiful. I am even more certain now that it was a good idea to break up our first day. Still nervous about it, but we shall see how it goes once we get out there. Very cool! Thank you for creating!!
Hey, thank you so much for your kind comment. I have broken up the first etape in the past as well, sleeping in Orisson which is such a beautiful place. Makes the start (and the following days) much "less painful" ;-) Hope you will have a wonderful experience! Buen Camino☀
Exhilarating! Makes it look like you never even stopped to catch your breath, look at the view or have a break- or even go to the toilet! (maybe just edited out?) Looking forward to watching the rest all the way to Santiago! Buen camino!
Thank you Jonathan! 😂 Your are right, this time I really tried to focus on the video project. There are so many amazing spots to stop, so many friendly locals and lovely people from all around the world to walk and chat with. It was hard to prioritize the "production", but the time lapse videos were what I really aimed for in this year (2020). I was very lucky to have had the chance to walk the entire Camino Francés around 6 times before since 2013🙌
Sorry for the late answer. It`s marked/signed at many places. But maybe when there is a lot of fog it`s more difficult. Usually there are many other pilgrims and if uncertain we can always join with others to find the way😄 I have never used GPS but maybe it`s very convenient.
Fantastic video. I was wondering; how did you know where to turn? I tried to slow down the video speed and dont see many signs of direction to turn. Did you use some app to determine turns? Were cars flying by you, or would they slow down? Did you ever feel in danger? Sorry for all these questions. Its my dream to do this route but all these unknowns makes it hard to make the leap.
Hey thank you so much! It`s Farewell by Still Life, Effort by Still Life and October by Still Life. (I`m going to include the titles in the descriptions soon, it`s on my to do list😅).
Thank you very much for your video. Today, more than 2 years after you made the recording, the material remains fresh as from the Pyrenees valleys. Is the path after Alto do Lepoeder signposted? Are there any unmarked forks? Did you use on an app?
What year is the video from? I did it in September 2021 and I'm guessing you were mid summer? Phenomenal set of videos, have watched them all multiple times. Thank you so much for all your efforts. Buen Camino!!!
Thank you very much! No tracking software used, just drew a simple map in Adobe Illustrator, lowered the opacity of the map, drew the way as an arrow with a dotted line (solid, 100% opacity). Then exported as png and inserted in Adobe Premiere (the lowered opacity of the map is kept). Separate yellow dot (100% opacity) inserted. The yellow dot is not animated in the single étapes, but will be in the final full video of the whole Camino. Will animate it by adjusting the position of the yellow dot using keyframes in Adobe Premiere. Hope that helps😄
Which part is the "steep descent"? Could someone please point it out - i'm anxious whether to skip it altogether for my upcoming camino. Btw, THANK YOU FOR THESE, that's exactly what I have been trying to find for months.
