  • The Minnesota Timberwolves took a big swing as they traded up in the 2024 NBA Draft to select Kentucky guard Rob Dillingham. After a Western Conference Finals berth last season, is this the gamble the Timberwolves needed to make?

    The wolves do not really need a big wing tbh. Naz, KAT, and Jaden are more than enough at this point. TSJ is the replacement plan for NAW. Dillingham is the pick for Conley-who will get worse with age. The wolves severely lacked scoring punch last year down the stretch and you can see a shift in emphasis of defense to maybe being a bit more balanced, which could help them get over the hump. Dillingham will probably make them much worse defensively when he is on the floor, Kyle Anderson’s loss will be big for their bench defense. I think the team becomes more interesting though with a better pick and roll partner for Rudy than Ant being added to the mix. (Ant is great obviously, he just has surprisingly bad numbers for PnR, he hasn’t figured it out yet).

    The Wolves got the 8th pick for a steal. A 2031 first and a swap!?

    Getting a top 10 pick for draft picks 6 seasons away is never the wrong move. Baffling that the Spurs would do that

    Yes on getting Dillingham.

    There'll be lots of skid marks from defenders trying to keep up (or trying not to get their ankles broken) with this ball-handling wizard. This kid will be exciting to watch.

    Worth the gamble?? This was about as far from a gamble as it gets. The #8 pick for a random pick 7 years from now and a swap 6 years from now. It was like taking candy from a baby.

    Would've been neat to see Shannon at #27 and small trade to move back into early 2nd round for Kolek. Rob is high upside and might end up being the best in this draft in 5 years, but they are built for success NOW. Shannon and Kolek are older and will contribute immediately.

      I disagree. They did the right thing they got no pics for years.

      @@kingrigdig1585 they HAD a pick and a swap they could have used in a stronger draft next year but don't misunderstand me please. I love Rob and think he will be a good fit. Just that they kinda handcuffed themselves by trading those last two assets. I like Kolek and think he is much more of a pure point. But overall, I'm thrilled to see Rob in Minny!!! It's very rare for a top ten pick to go to a contender.

    Good content. I was nearly certain from the thumbnail that Chris was topless. I'm also bald. I have a beard, but I know that a skin toned shirt isn't a great choice for a Zoom meeting.

    How is it a gamble?

      He's just an ok guard prospect that's why. He's only 6ft tall and will be the smallest player in the NBA. On top of that he's really not crazy athletic like a Ja Morant is at the rim. Also not a natural PG who organizes offense.

    No not RIGHT !!!! Nobody is agreeing with you when you say right !!! This was one of the best trades I’ve ever seen. So Chris needs to just stop with basketball. Doesn’t have a clue. The other guy is basically the same but Chris is way worse.

    This is a bad move for the Wolves. Gave up way too much for a guard who in reality will probably be nothing more than a one position bench scorer or floor spacer who plays no defense. They could of got this type of player a lot easier but they chose to buy into weird social media optics hype.

    • @aximus11
      @aximus11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah gave up way too much when they gave up a first rounder in the next 7 years when they could be playing for championships and would have a bad pick anyways. And saying that they are only getting a bench scorer or floor spacer is crazy😂 that’s exactly what they need dude you must be smoking something. Also with having the best defense around him in the nba im sure they aren’t worried that he can’t play lock down defense(just like Conley btw) this kid is the best shot creator/dribbler in the draft and it isn’t close. Saying it’s a bad move shows you don’t know ball.

    • @EDTheOneable
      @EDTheOneable หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@aximus11 best dribbler means absolutely nothing and he's far from the best shot creator.. On top of that this is a very weak draft class. If the Wolves really just need some type of scoring off the bench then I guess this is an ok move but I really don't see it getting them any closer to a title. It's going to be hilarious when Dillingham is the next TyTy Washington and you all dudes who just hype of any guy with a flashy handle dissappear all over again.. This shit is like clockwork with you casuals I swear

    • @aximus11
      @aximus11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@EDTheOneable saying the dude who is gonna end up like tyty Washington who was drafted like last in the first round is a crazy lmfao. The wolves had no bench scorers during the mavs series and getting dillingham and tsj is exactly what they needed. Dillingham shoots over 40% from three. He is one of the best pick and roll players in the draft. You can argue against a wall with that look up the stats fatty. Saying this is an okay move when the literally filled in exactly what they were missing is an inbred take. Nice try tho

      He is also young and not very big. If he puts on 15-20 lbs of muscle and puts more effort he will be fine. He did get drafted by the best defensive team. And who the fuq is fake MJ
