as i sat here thinking for about 20 minutes after this video..this was the owners decision. no way a sane GM would make this trade unless the were literally forced to do so. and the Hawks got lucky as HELL to get the 1st overall this year, considering the next couple of drafts will be Pops pickings.
I see the Hawks reasoning behind the trade but it isnt the best. They traded the spurs an unprotected 1st in 2025 and 2027 and a unprotected pick swap in 2026. They traded Dejounte for 2 unprotected 1sts in 2025 and 2027. Be it late 1sts, they still lost the trade
Late 1sts? Meh.. I see the Lakers imploding.LBJ is a year older... AD never stays healthy for long stretches. And with Zion health you never know how that 27 pick will turn out..
Lol no it doesn’t.. this trade means they rather keep Trae and build around him. Hawks wouldn’t have agreed to this trade if the draft picks (yes, multiple) weren’t included in this.
Wait are you suggesting that Murray’s contract is a good one and your argument being that it’s similar to Brunson? I’m confused, Brunson is 10 times the player Murray is. Not saying that Murray isn’t worth the money he’s getting, just that that wasn’t the comparison to be made to prove that point
I watch all the hawks games and I had the same reaction as Mike. Trading Trae would have made more sense, saving cap space, improving defence, getting more assets and not sacrificing much on offence
The Hawks have been doomed ever since they drafted Marvin Williams at #2 instead of Chris Paul. Then they pass on Luka for Trae Young. Now they're shuffling deck chairs on the Titanic, because notwithstanding the one fluke Eastern Conference Finals, they're never going to win anything with Trae Young as a sieve on defense and dominating the ball on offense.
I agree the Hawks didnt do well here, but I'm also not liking the crowding of inside the three, ball dominant players the Pelicans have. Zion, Dejonte, Ingram, all need the ball to be effective. Not a good fit.
Yeah, agreed. I don't see the Pels keeping Ingram. I think he's next on the trading block. I'd hope they can move him for a solid rim protector and assets to relieve cap space.
Zion doesn't need to have the ball if you play at a fast tempo and have guys around him who can shoot the 3 and spread the floor. He can play off the ball and in the pick and roll if they can keep defenses from clogging up the paint. The Pelicans don't want Zion as their primary ball handler because when he's out that tanks the offense. They can do point Zion here and there depending on the opponent, maybe with some second unit guys when Murray is resting.
@@Don-md6wn Maybe so, but also seems like Ingram and Dejonte aren't really the floor spreader type of players either. Ingram shoots like 1 or 2 3's a game, and Dejonte maybe like 2 or 3. Zion posted down low will take away some of their lanes and mid range space. Feels like an awkward arrangement.
Zion's immaturity getting ready for the season & Brandon's refusal to play through minor injuries plus never getting an athletic big (Jaxson Hayes doesn't count) is the reason the Pelicans never went further in the playoffs. I hope that Zion is serious, BI is traded for a starting caliber center plus bench pieces or picks. Maybe the Pelicans can finally fly!
I dont know why but Atlanta just cant help themselves. Since They traded Dominique for Danny Manning mid season in a season where they had the NBAs best record, seems like they love getting fleeced on trades. Like they are a masochist or something.

The only way this trade makes sense is the basics - Larry nance is paid 33m ish, and the hawks need another big. NO threw in a young unproven player in Dyson Daniels to sweeten the pot. Also, Dejounte might not have wanted to stay in that Hawks situation after what happened towards the end of last year
This is so sad, Reaves Rui and a protected 1st and a swap is a way better deal than nance Daniels and 2 trash 1sts
NO it isnt.. lmao
@@MrTerrell966 those 1st are going to be like the 25 and 26th pick, a 28 swap from the lakers could be a top 10 pick, and a protected pick just means it’s not top 10, plus white boy Reaves on a 12 mil contract and Rui, yea that’s way fckn better, this trade got rated as the worst trade of the offseason, I’m speaking as a hawks fan bro
Trash firsts?
Lakers will be in the lottery
Bucks are old with no draft capital or good young players
And now the hawks own both of them
as i sat here thinking for about 20 minutes after this video..this was the owners decision. no way a sane GM would make this trade unless the were literally forced to do so.
and the Hawks got lucky as HELL to get the 1st overall this year, considering the next couple of drafts will be Pops pickings.
This trade must mean the hawks are about to do a fire sale on this team.
Yup…. Trae gona be gone too
Lol no it doesn’t.. this trade means they rather keep Trae and build around him.
Hawks wouldn’t have agreed to this trade if the draft picks (yes, multiple) weren’t included in this.
Getting your ankles snapped by flight is kinda crazy Mike
Pels have always been a mess except back when Chris Paul was there.
Mic check 1,2. 1,2. Always love your content and editorial Mike. Break!
Best two way guards in the NBA? The defense has not been up to snuff for a while..
I didnt hear that cuz I was distracted by the comment section but yeah that just proves that the Knicks got one hell of a deal on J.B.
You are not riding Hawks fans. You are absolutely correct about the damn trade! I can't even be mad.
he was sleeping on dyson 😭💀
This trade was crazy
Paul Joyce is a warrior they said a 13 might come in to facility the trade but he’s officially a warrior😅
This is the best video you’ve ever made
I watch all the hawks games and I had the same reaction as Mike. Trading Trae would have made more sense, saving cap space, improving defence, getting more assets and not sacrificing much on offence
I'm guessing there's not much of a market for Trae.
This guy shitting on the hawks like Murray is a superstar
Never thought there was a FO worse than my bulls but this one took the cake.
I am kinda sad for the Hawk's fans at this point, even as a Spurs fan myself. They deserve better...
So right now you got CJ, Murray, Ingram, Zion, + Someone not JV.
Folks thought Bulls were fleeced by OKC. This is even worse
54k away bruv. Keep grinding 💯
Hawks pais too much for Murray, now they got paid too little for Murray what an amazing deals
That lakers tax is real man. These deals never fall into their lap
The hawk tuah shit caught me off guard.
I thought this channel was a safe place.
I feel betrayed. 😢
Inspirational tho, boy flight had mike trending
Building a team around a star who can’t play in the post season, this team will be a disappointment like the clippers for years to come.
Advanced tanking schemes from Atlanta Hawks. Interesting tactic 😂
They don't even own their own pick.
Lost me when you compared DJM to Brunson. Brunson is HIM
Magic Cities impact on the NBA could be a documentary
I now feel better about the annual TrailBlazer fire sale (so far).
