Chasing Peacock Bass on the Isle Switch Paddleboard

- One of the main fish I wanted to catch when I was in Florida was a Peacock Bass. I was in Bradenton. There are no peacocks in that area. As I did my research on where I could catch a Peacock, I came up with two locations: West Palm, and Naples. Both were 2 hours or more away. But with the Isle Switch Paddleboard I knew I could access the canals in Naples very easily - and fish water that you can't reach by land. So that was my decision.
And it paid off!
I saw a LOT of peacock bass - unfortunately, I couldn't get a lot of them to bite. But, it was still an EPIC experience that would not have been possible without the Isle Switch.

Thanks man. I really expected to fish more and catch more- but the week became more about relationships and other people. It was also post-spawn, abnormally warm and dry, and also a bad Red Tide, so tough conditions overall. Probably not the optimal time to be there for fishing in hindsight. I need to do a wrap-up video.
But this fish was the highlight for me.

My son lives in Boca Raton. Last April when I was there we fished Okeechobee for largemouth and Lake Ida in Delray for Peacock bass. Caught my P.B. Largemouth at Lake O and he and I caught 24 Peacock. All on jerk baits. For a perspective, I am fishing Cross Creek tomorrow. Yikes! Looking forward to your next video. Always entertaining.

The paddleboard was amazingly stable. Almost felt like a floating personal dock. I thought about it less than I do my kayak or canoe. And yeah - I was thrilled to catch one of those.

The charter boats typically use live bait to fish for peacocks so that explains why the swim bait worked.
I went into it with a plan to use things that mimic baitfish. Just wish I could have fooled a few more!

I don't. But all i did was use 2 nylon cam straps, and run them over the board and through the jeep witht he doors open. This is how we secure our Canoe at home as well. Straps like these are all you need: amzn.to/3I0fjEv
Nice work! Noticed you were using the insta360, for fishing vids did u like it better than the GoPro?
Thanks. So far I'll say they do different things well. The 360 camera in 360 mode does add a lot to my editing time. but I think the extra angles are worth it. But, the PQ in 360 mode is a little less than the 2.7k of the GoPro. I haven't used it as a direct replacement for the GoPro yet. Mainly because I don;t have a microphone solution - and honestly that wasn't why I got the 360 anyway. It's really a b-roll / second-angle camera for me.

Yep. That's why i run with several these days, trying to make sure I get at least one angle!
How is your lower back after siting in that position for the entire time?
No problems - the seat is very comfortable. I changed my leg positions a few times. Just like I do on the kayak. In fact in some ways it was easier because I could completely cross my legs.
How was slx DC xt your braver than me paddle board and Gators no thanks
The DC XT has been great. My main plan is for using it on the rivers and deeper lakes, but it has performed well for sure.
