Our 2 year old goes "ohhh ohhhh bee bee" "BEE BEE" "AHHHHH BEE" Then proceeds to run around the house screaming bee bee bee bee. Its the funniest thing in the world.
I have been terrified of bees for over 20 years. my 18 month old son however thinks they are fascinating. and loves to watch them. I freak out if I even see one a meter away. freak out if one goes near him. I dont want him to be afraid, so ive been watching bee videos to try change how I think about them. ive always known they are important and respected them for it but watching these have given me a better understanding of them. They arnt as scarey as i thought. Thank you for sharing your videos.
Hey Rooster thanks for all these videos, i love to watch these as they are very educational! I didnt really have a good idea of how bees work but since i found your videos ive read alot of beekeeping. Thanks for making me a bit smarter :) Greetings from Finland.
Pretty good video. Reminded me of my great uncle and his hives on the his farm. Used them to help pollinate some of his crops but more so for the honey. He'd get a big yield out of the hives and would eventually end up gifting all the honey to family and friends. I'd never turn down a jar of the honey. Makes for good toast and coffee in the AM. Thanks for the video. Took me down memory lane.
By the way, I want you to know how much you've inspired me. Swarm catch was one thing, I was always afraid of cutouts. No more. I'm three for three on finding the queen, done two cutouts in the last week. Thanks for posting these videos. They give me confidence!
Also, you should carry a good size piece of plywood to put on the ground for your ladder. It will disperse the weight and keep the ladder from sinking into the ground.
I cant stop watching, I equate this to watching dr pimple popper, theres something just so satisfying, no matter how much something in my brain tells me to turn it off, something far more powerful tells me to fullscreen it and turn it up. just found this channel after not seeing it for awhile, I believe its time to sub..
She has a large rear end. But, I didn't see a crown though. I had to rewind, to make sure there was no crown, from what I understand through video's, they are fed "royal jelly" higher in nutrients than any other BEE gets fed. Correct me if I'm wrong please. That may be why they live longer. Up to five years. A long time for as hard as they work. Non stop. 8 months ago , just kill them, now, amazing creatures. My wish is, we all existed like that.
XD Aw man, when you pulled out the first piece of comb my first thought was "HEY! That's brand new!" I couldn't help but feel indignant on the bees' behalf! Hahahaha!
I know this is an older video so I'm not sure if you will see this. but I am wondering why you get rid of the drone cone. I often wonder this when you say that you are getting rid of the drone cone. Love your channel
I like queen clips better than the little cage we had but we lost or broke all ours and haven't ordered new ones yet. Dadant has stainless steel ones now that are almost the same price as the plastic ones.
so the vacuum doesnt kill them? i did my first removal yesterday. took them from a tire that was covered with lumber, and put them in a brood box. it was killer. we left the box next to the tire and checked today and it seems that they have abandoned the tire. they are cleaning out the box from the bees we killed accidently. we never did find the queen.
Excellent. Sometimes you won't find the queen. If you missed or killed the queen and don't have one to replace her with just insert a frame with some eggs or very young larvae, if there isn't any in there already, and they will make a new queen. Congrats on your first removal.
+Alan snellings A friend of mine has a secretary for the UK that tells me I'm sending her round the twist. It's funny combined with the accent. Not so much when I say it. :)
That comb looks awesome, makes me want a mouthful of it and the honey as well, is that your dad with you? When I was doing clean-up, we saw a trailer on 20-30 ft stilts. Do you travel I-10?
How long would it take a colony to build a hive like that? Man alive, that was a lot of bees. All I could think of when you were getting ready to dump them into the box was it is one of those "here, hold my beer and watch this" type of moments :) Neat video
LOL, that was a "hold my sign" moment. All that white comb was built in the past four weeks or so. This hive has been in there since at least the middle of last summer.
about 8:30 or so, why were you cutting the combs in half as your took them out? I do this sometimes to separate honey from atop brood and keep it from crushing combs, but that looked like solid brood. Just curious if you had a trick there, or were just doing it for easier handling. Nice work though. Also, why not suit up when you dumped the bees, knowing how pissy they were. I always want to be more manly and not wear my suit, but c'mon man, these were known bullies! Hey, drama get's views I guess!
The floor joist they were in were 2x10 and the comb hung below them about an inch so I had to cut them down some to fit in the 9" frames. Also some of what I cut off was drone brood. I did have to cut through some worker brood at one point. No suit = more excitement. LOL I usually try not to wear my suit because of how hot I get but this time it was a necessity.
628DirtRooster Ok, that's what I figured. I just didn't know if you were going into mediums or shallows or something, or if you had some other trick to why you were cutting in half. I always try to transfer into the biggest frame that I can fill with the comb, but I've been bit before by soft new combs in a deep frame. They compress under their own weight, and warp or all out fall out of the frame. So on soft new combs, even if they are big sheets I'll cut them down to mediums, and remove any heavy honey off the top if they have it.
If you pull the bag (these swarming Bees are found in) down all of a sudden, then I guess they'll pile down onto you and inevitably sting you bad. And I wonder, are these Killer Bees?
I’m going into the second winner with my hive and this is the third time I’ve gotten into beekeeping I started with my grandfather had taken car at Walsh warm and I bought a package of beige the last time
I used to throw them in the wash and let them air dry but they don't dry fast enough to keep from smelling so now I just let the stingers dry up and then rub the gloves together and most of the stingers come right out.
The honey is totally clean. They will sometimes chew away soft building materials but they don't eat it. They just carry it outside the area of the hive and dispose of it.
+628DirtRooster not sure what you meant by DCC I was talking about stuff I don't know what the first word is but it's colony collapse help me out of this DCC please.
Hi! How do you know the difference on sight between drone brood and worker brood? I've seen you talk about making a queen and queen comb mats. I enjoy watching your videos and learning new things. At the end of the day it's surprisingly relaxing to watch your bee videos.
Thanks for watching Julianne. The worker brood is capped pretty flat and the drone brood has a dome shaped cap on each cell. Drone cells are also larger than worker cells and if you see the two side by side it's pretty apparent.
Next time you could put your caged bees on to[ of the frames before you leave and tape it down or secure it down. Then place the amount (2 or 3) of empty hive boxes on top . Then the lid.The bees will be going in as soon as they can. I hope this helps
No, I'm OK. But make you wonder if he knows what is expected of him. He would have arranged a top with a passage so he could link his captured brood to the hive. Sense the queen is already present the brood would move right in with her. You know set the captured brood on top, an the bee's can move from the brood capturer to the hive cut the danger to self. Thank You Loader.

Amazing. Glad to see these guys die. No offense but I hate bees cause I got stung in my ear when I was 4 by one. Did the queen show up anywhere in the video? I skipped through it a bit so I dont really know.
I think it's awesome that you and dad do this stuff together good times and great memories. Most people have that bond. Y'all are good folks
Thanks. We are a close family.
My family loves your channel!!!!!
So nice! :)

Found this channel over the weekend..subbed within the first 10mins of the first video and have been binge watching ever since...this channel is great

Many thanks for the views and for commenting. Finland just sounds like a cool place.
I wish you could have a sting O meter. For every time you are stung, a little number on the bottom of the screen goes up. How cool that would bee?
Love your videos. I think it is cool when you go do these removals with your family. You guys always seem to have a good time while you are at it.
Thanks so much for the nice comment.

Awesome dude! Hard work but fun too.
Between you and Mr. head and the fact been man I’ve learned a lot
does anyone else watch these videos and feel like there's something constantly crawling on them
LOL
ya... I 100% Do Butt its cool to see how they actually remove the hives
It's Goose Bumps.
Here Now Yes
Here Now I mainly get the if I watch Spider videos I hate those things lol.
Hey a fellow Mississipian! i knew the accent sounded comfortable when i clicked on the video.
Nice videos.
Haha. Hi from the Gulf coast.
I love your guys videos...thanks for filming and uploading
Thanks so much for watching

Thanks for the sub art.
How can you pick out the queen from all those bees. Is she wearing a crown?
She's sitting in the back of a convertible waving.
She's longer than all the rest.
She has a large rear end. But, I didn't see a crown though. I had to rewind, to make sure there was no crown, from what I understand through video's, they are fed "royal jelly" higher in nutrients than any other BEE gets fed. Correct me if I'm wrong please. Its a game of wheres Waldo
What I learned about bees today
Wet and windy, they'll be pissy,
Dry and sunny, go get that honey!
Is there a part two of this video? I hope so, I was hooked and interested on what happen after you sprayed them with sugar water.
Thanks,
Roger
Unfortunately I was holding the camera on them that whole time but I accidentally stopped recording.
Would enjoy short video on bee vac and how the basket works.
thanks
I've had a lot of people ask about that from past videos. I'll have to get a video done on that soon.
I learned a lot from you on collecting hires that is helping me figure out how to get Madame places I’ve taken them out of bushes balances another
great video brother, thanks for posting, very educational
Thanks Rob
WOW those bee's are pissed! Glad it was you brother and not me.... yet.
Take care
I know where there's a hive just like this one with your name on it.
by the time we get there it's gonna be ready to split 4 or 5 times...lol
XD Aw man, when you pulled out the first piece of comb my first thought was "HEY! That's brand new!" I couldn't help but feel indignant on the bees' behalf! Hahahaha!
Kitsune Aitsuki Haha Tearing up their brand new front porch.
Good video, mate. Thanks. That sugar water would have been handy when you dumped the first lot of bees in the hive.
Unfortunately we forgot to bring any. All we had was straight water in a spray bottle.
The clump of bees on his hat😂
Lol at 11:46, all those bees on your hat ;)
----
Keep the videos coming, there really enjoyable to watch!🐝🐝🐝
Hitch hikers LOL
These bees seemed more aggresive then other ones I've seen you remove is there any reason why these ones stung you more then others?
Weather conditions can set them off sometimes.
Cool vid my friend man those bees were pissed lol!:)
They weren't happy to see me.
Fascinating. So you all don't just get rid of infestations of bee-like insects, you also actually have a bee-keeping business as well.
Edvard Johansson We keep bees as a hobby. We are not pest control professionals.
Do you kill the bees you remove? Or do you save them?
That was awesome bro, thanks for sharing.
J
My pleasure.
Now that looks more like a cut out I am used to doing, agressive bees in the rain overhead. Good find on the queen though. How did that hive do?
marcman5109 They did pretty well. Still have them except with a new queen because they swarmed when I wasn't paying them any attention.
Very enjoyable videos. I killed a spider once. So same thing right?
+More Cowbell Pretty much. LOL
I want to ask do you feel that your health been better with all the stings you get form the bees? Some do use it for therapy
Yes, less pain in my knuckles.
Now we know where they filmed bee movie
I know this is an older video so I'm not sure if you will see this. but I am wondering why you get rid of the drone cone. I often wonder this when you say that you are getting rid of the drone cone. Love your channel
Drones are only for breeding and when you have a mated queen they are not necessary.
628DirtRooster awesome. Thank you so much for getting back with me. Because of your videos I have become very interested in bee keeping
So do you save the honey from all of these gives you clear out? :o
Sure do.
10:20 -- Use those clip-style queen cages so that you don't have to struggle caging the queen when you're wearing gloves.
Can you do a video on how to make the bee vac that you use?
+mrwarship Check my play lists.
Great video! Do you have plans on how to build your the bee vac you used? What do you think about queen clips?
I like queen clips better than the little cage we had but we lost or broke all ours and haven't ordered new ones yet. Dadant has stainless steel ones now that are almost the same price as the plastic ones.
I'm planning on doing a short video on how to build that vac.
628DirtRooster I will have to look for the stainless ones.
628DirtRooster You can video building me one and just send it to me when you are done. :), maybe....
Derek Fisher Sounds like a plan.
Aggressive due to the weather perhaps? Nice looking queen.. good brood pattern as well.
Yeah, it had stormed for several days before this and it was really wet and windy that day. We did get a good queen out of it.
so the vacuum doesnt kill them? i did my first removal yesterday. took them from a tire that was covered with lumber, and put them in a brood box. it was killer. we left the box next to the tire and checked today and it seems that they have abandoned the tire. they are cleaning out the box from the bees we killed accidently. we never did find the queen.

As we say in the UK you are both raving mad pal lol another good video!. Both brave
+Alan snellings A friend of mine has a secretary for the UK that tells me I'm sending her round the twist. It's funny combined with the accent. Not so much when I say it. :)
Trust me she was being nice lol we live in Kent but if you go 400 miles you can't understand a word any one says
Alan snellings Haha!
Normally Bees in swarms sting less than they do when they're in colonies, as far as I was told.
Two colonies, that's impressive work! :)
Thanks for sitting through it. :)
628DirtRooster
Anytime, you are helping our bees! Those two colonies have helped the honeybee, and a friend of the honeybee is a friend of mine :)
That comb looks awesome, makes me want a mouthful of it and the honey as well, is that your dad with you? When I was doing clean-up, we saw a trailer on 20-30 ft stilts. Do you travel I-10?

Why don't you put a queen clip in your top pocket when you start a cut out??
about 8:30 or so, why were you cutting the combs in half as your took them out? Why is the queen so important to you? If she gets lost or dies can the bees make a new queen join their hive?
Only if they have the right age larvae.
How do you clean the gloves with the stingers?
I used to throw them in the wash and let them air dry but they don't dry fast enough to keep from smelling so now I just let the stingers dry up and then rub the gloves together and most of the stingers come right out.
Why not put them in the truck with heat?
can you eat honey if they eat the insulation? is that safe for them?
The honey is totally clean. They will sometimes chew away soft building materials but they don't eat it. They just carry it outside the area of the hive and dispose of it.
That colony looks pretty healthy and big too. Why do wild bees survive but kept bees suffer from colony collapse?
Because wild bees don't have beekeepers screwing with them. lol
CCD is over sold in my opinion.
+628DirtRooster not sure what you meant by DCC I was talking about stuff I don't know what the first word is but it's colony collapse help me out of this DCC please.
Jim Adams Sorry, CCD is colony collapse disorder.
+628DirtRooster thanks I just couldn't rememberwhat that third word was. Makes perfect sense now.
Jim Adams why kill a good hive
What do you do with the queen if you catch it?
Put her in a cage.
Did you do with the honey?
There wasn't enough honey in that one to do anything with. I'll be posting a video soon on one I removed that was loaded with honey.
Hi! How do you know the difference on sight between drone brood and worker brood? I've seen you talk about making a queen and queen comb mats.

Thanks for the reply! I'll try to spot the different characteristics in future videos!!
Next time you could put your caged bees on to[ of the frames before you leave and tape it down or secure it down. Then place the amount (2 or 3) of empty hive boxes on top . Then the lid.The bees will be going in as soon as they can. I hope this helps
Thanks Mr. Rorie. I didn't really think it through before trying to dump the bees in on the side of the road.
Dang u pissed those bees off good never seen em that bad during a cutout now I know how windy and rain will bring stings and pain
That's a good slogan for bad weather beekeeping. They do prefer a nice warm sunny day with low winds.
How do you tell if it is a drone brood
the size of the cells is bigger
+628DirtRooster
Goodmorning sir but I was wondering, have you ran into any of the do called "killer Bees" africanized bees swarms???
None around here.
628DirtRooster just another quick question then. ..I know their in Texas and some of the south but in your opinion do you think it'll be long before they do show up?
Dale A. Morrison I hope they never show up here.
628DirtRooster
OH amen to that because that means they won't be long visiting us here in South Carolina and making trouble....lol
Why dont you wear a bee suit? I thought that the more you get stung the more likely you are to develop an allergy.
No, makes you build a resistance
Really interesting!
Thanks Chester
I've never seen a hive up close all I've seen are the workers foraging
Plenty of them around here.
Why they always catch the queen?
Wherever the queen is the bees follow
Rayana Woods oh ok, thanks man.
what do make there hives out of?
Pine
+628DirtRooster thx u. I love how u reply to every comment. Keep up the great work
Ibrahim hi Thanks for commenting
Did she tell what round the twist means?
+Alan snellings She said it meant I was driving her nuts.
Dead on buddy
Could you make a video showing the difference of a drone brood compare to a regular brood.
And showing the difference of a worker bee and a drone bee and a queen?
There is much talk about queens and drones and worker bees, but pictures or a video would be worth a thousand words. What do they look like? I know the queen is the big one, but how can you tell if you have a drone ?
I have it in some older videos. I'll mention it in upcoming videos but it will be months before I can get them up due to the amount of video waiting to be edited.
Thank you, I am looking forward to see it.
You had balls there ole man,!!!!! I don't mess with them on pissy days!!!!! LOL .hope they made it?!?
Yeah man I don't like getting into them on days like this either. We lost a few thousand by the time we got home but we had an extra queen and there were still enough that we made two colonies out of the one.
Looking at those combs make me wanna eat waffles
Honey on waffles is good.
628DirtRooster unfortunately I dont like honey......dont know why though
dang it! now i want pancakes!
Clicked because the thumbnail looks like a head of cornrows 😂
LOL It does kind of.
Watch JP the beeman..Louis Slaton...two diffrent styles.. watch some of their videos..

628DirtRooster I DON'T KNOW WHAT THAT'S LIKE BUT IT DOESN'T MATTER!!! RUUUUUUUUN!!!!
Your gonna be a sport soul doing that

Yep

second video and i am scratching all over myself lol :D
+TheHrebo The itching goes away. ;)
I use the same "goat skin " for blackberrys
Good idea
My brother swears by the thornless blackberry plant.
Those were some angry females at the end. Lol. They will calm down.. Happy Hobby's.
Haha That's the fastest dad moved in a while.
do you ever consider just taking the comb and not vacuuming the bees? unless they are africanized then kill all of them!
No. They would just stay there and build it back.
Yo
Howdy
reminded me of Billy the exterminator
Oh Dang! That bad? LOL
I have followed your vid's for ages now..You get stung far too much , lol. I would be wearing leather..heat or not. good to watch though.
Try and drink while watching the wasps
2 cans of raid. problem solved
Not when all the bees die and destroy the entire world ecosystem including humans
No chance of that happening.
im learning the hard way. headed south from a big city....and wasps plus red/fire ants are my biggest concerns on my property. subscribed. props
Mister Bang Thanks man
What do u do with the bees. Do you have them slave and make you honey lol
Tommy Heap Kind of, they are sharecroppers.
why dont you wear gloves, oh why oh why oh why *hides in fear* i mean you do sometimes but i wouldn't go near 5 feet of that without like an iron man suit...preferably a hulk buster
They get in the way.
05:35 SHIT !!!
Amazing. Glad to see these guys die. No offense but I hate bees cause I got stung in my ear when I was 4 by one. Did the queen show up anywhere in the video? I skipped through it a bit so I dont really know.
Got a little bit of sad news for ya. I found the queen but the hive is alive and well. LOL Thanks for watching Tinkster.
I would have shook them out at the house you too much them down at then walked off and ate my honey bun so they could settle down.
Why did you have to say honey bun? Now I want a snack and it's 2:00 AM. :D
628DirtRooster haha sorry bud, I had the same craving when I watched he video. nothing better than a dr.pepper or Pepsi and a honey bun.
let there be law
Bee booty.
honey bees are going extinct.
blacksmith224 Don't believe the hype.
egg tooth
Vegetable lasagna
I'd burn the house down.
For the insurance money? lol
LOL!!...
You should have been there.
628DirtRooster
Believe me. IF I could have..I certainly WOULD have..sigh.
