It's my super swarm detection abilities that have me doing that. lol
We can sell cut out honey. If I get any I don't want to sell I just feed it to my yards.
Because of this channel, I've gone fro a bit meh on bee's to determined to get some hives because bee's, bee's are cool. In the UK so trying to figure out any license I'd need but it's happening! Thanks to you that'll be at least two more hives in the world. But I am gonna wear a suit, England is cold so the bee's ain't so chill but it means beesuits ain't so bad..
What did you do with all that brood comb? There was some nice pearly-white larvae in there.
Wish we could have used it but late season removals invite hive beetles in a big way if we try and save a bunch of open brood.
I was going to cover what the instructions said. “Don’t Fall “ and it’s all good.
Your killing me DirtRooster,,,,I was sure you where gonna say the guy with the big red nose in the picture was Mr.Ed 😂😂😂😂😂
His teeth weren't showing.
@@628DirtRooster true😎😎😎
Why do you not rubber band some of the comb into frames?
Late summer and fall we don't save open brood.
There at the end it looked like some sort of delicious slow cooked mystery meat in a giant crock pot. I wanted to put some of it over rice.
Well heck I know the recipe by heart. We'll fix you up some.
@@628DirtRooster Well at least it's high in protein. It's full of crushed bees, larvae and hive beetles. YUM YUM.
Gotta eat it while it’s hot though 😂
I took a fall off a 16 foot deer stand. Got to the top and was pulling on the sides to stand upright and the sides both let go. Man was that a scary trip down. Was wishing I had a parachute on the way down. Surprise of surprises I landed just right and only bruised my left leg when I landed. I hobbled around for a few weeks then was good as new. I contribute my good landing to the thick layers I had on and am happy I survived it.
Wow! Glad you came out breathing. I've heard some stories, as I'm sure you have, of people falling on their gun and other such tragedies.
Hey DirtRooster. Love the vids. Just wondering, I've seen other bee keepers spray the hive / bees during cutouts with a sugary water. I've never seen you do this. Why do they do this and why do you not do this? Thanks!
I don't want them wet and sticky going into the vac hose. Sugar water spray can keep them busy cleaning themselves instead of stinging you.
How long does it take to melt down honey in this slow cooker?
If I crank the temp up it melts pretty fast. Maybe a half hour. I usually melt it over a couple of hours at lower temperatures so I don't burn the wax.
