Going further on the theory. Is it possible that by caring about Harry that much the effect of the deluminator works with Harry? When Harry meets Voldemort in the chambers of secrets Harry says Dumbledors name and then Fawkes shows up… something random that’s suddenly less random…

One thing I think you overlooked: it is interesting how Dumbledore could find someone if they said his name, its very similar to how Voldemort put a curse on his name and could find someone as well. However, dumbledore operated out of love and hope, and Voldemort operated out of fear and hate, therefore his magic being weaker.

I think Dumbledore found a way to communicate with people (both living AND dead) through the mirror. I believe the message in the mirror says "Do you know where its kept" - it's probably from Grindelwald? Is he asking about the blood pact? There is also a new "Secrets..." teaser and we see another message in it. It says "I want to come home". Maybe it's Ariana??? That would be wild.
The only thing is - why this mirror is located in Aberforth's pub? And why it looks like HE uses this mirror and reads these messages?
EDIT: I just figured it out! Do you remember that piece of mirror Sirius gave to Harry? I think its the same freaking thing. And in the Deathly Hallows Aberforth was using this mirror too to keep an eye on Harry. *mindblown*

    Something worth noting here:
During that fight on the street, where Dumbledore has Credence on the ground... they're on top of large puddles of water. Reflective surfaces. Like mirrors.
Also, notice how when Dumbledore uses the Deluminator in the mirror world, all the light in the world is flowing into the it, with the only other light source being, wait for it...
The puddles. Shining light from the real world.
The Deluminator isn't some gateway into the mirror world, but it is the most powerful weapon in said world. Mirrors work by reflecting light, right? Without light, they don't work. What happens when you remove light from a mirror world? It disappears.
That's what I believe is happening in this scene. Dumbledore pulls Credence into the mirror world, whips out the Deluminator and starts taking all the light. He threatens to leave Credence in the empty void unless he comes quietly. Credence relents, so Dumbledore brings them back.

  • @DanMan0715
    @DanMan0715 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

My theory was that the deluminator is just a tool for "calming" an obscurus.
When an obscurial manifests their obscurus they lose themself and become lost to the outside world. They become obscured. The deluminator's ability to restore light is how it encourages and clarifies for the obscurial to find themself again. The person-locating/hearing functionality is just to help the user find the person under or inside the obscurus.
Dumbledore will use the deluminator to pull Creedence back to the light.
Bonus theory: Aurelius Dumbledore is just a scheme from Grindlewald to fulfill a prophecy he had. The prophecy will be something like "Dumbledore will be defeated when his love for a precious sibling clad in darkness is broken." Grindlewald tried to break that love as children and failed. Now, Grindlewald manufactures the sibling that will undo Dumbledore.

The deluminator is kind of like a Wizard (EMP) electro magnet pulse, magical battery, homing beacon and possibly a way to absorb and channel magical energy. The Obscurus, like a parasite, feeds on magic as an energy source to essentially satiate itself. The deluminator can then release said light as energy channeled through the Wizard to defend against the Obscurus. It’s literally a struggle between light and dark with the Wizard balancing the two with the deluminator and as we know the deluminator can transport Wizards, it’s reasonable to assume with the right Magic and energy, the Deluminator could be used to transport it’s user into a sort of light mirror world where the Obscurial’s power can be negated.

But wizards are able to turn off lights but light which come from fires. Like dumbledore demonstrates in PoA and GoF. ( movie atleast not 100 percent sure about book)
They have problems with light created by electricity.
That is where the deluminator shines ( get it).
But in the movies we see another thing that can turn off lights, also electrical. That are demontors. In every scene they are in the light either turn completely off or flikker so much that they are pretty much useless.
Train scene in PoA light in the train turn off.
OotP, the light in the tunel flikkers truns off the moment the demontor appears.
Edit: fixing some spellin. There are probably still some there.

As prep for Secrets Of Dumbledore & after recently binge-watching SCB theories, I just rewatched Crimes of Grindy for first time in a couple years …
    • Firstly, I did forget how CoG was shot so beautifully - set design, costuming, cinematography, CGI, etc … & trailer for SoD looks just as good or better
    • Next … time definitely heals some wounds: while the complete non-explanation of how Credence survived still bothers me - along with the initial, cringy exchanges betwixt Next & Tina (all because of a mis-print - an Auror couldn’t figure out that?, really??) - I was able to quell my anger for the err … greater good … of trying to enjoy the show more than was possible initially - which did echo SCB initial rxn to CoG
    • OK, OK - the big “Aurellius” revelio … I still think Grindy is lying - explained possibly that the blood-pact gave Grindy the ability to call Ffawkes to him, not Credence …
    • Unfortunately, still no better explanation as to who | what Credence really is or how he has survived with | as an obscurial for so long
    • Delumimator is awesome … can’t wait to find out about more amazing thing it can do!

  • @NotAnotherDouc-
    @NotAnotherDouc- 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I would push back on the observations about the deluminator being the only piece of magic besides an obscurus that can destroy or eliminate light. In the stories, the deluminator takes the orbs of light inside of itself and stores it there until released. That’s why Ron is able to produce light in the cellar of Malfoy Manor, because the deluminator still had light stored from when they were trying not to be caught by the snatchers (at least I think that’s when he got it). So the deluminator most definitely does not destroy or eliminate late. If anything it’s closer to the peruvian instant darkness powder. The powder smothers light instead of eliminating it, and the deluminator shrouds the light inside itself. Therefore, the deluminator definitely does not function like an obscurus.
I love the brothers’ theories and almost always find them compelling, but this one is a bit out there for me.
In general I think there are a whole lot of leaps being taken. Also, I think the brothers have a habit of building new theories off of the premises of their old theories, which have a compounding, circular logic that can get disconnected from what’s happening in the actual stories they discuss. This theory feels like a house of cards that could crumble if they’re even slightly wrong about anything else before this (such as the function of the deluminator, mirror dimensions, and more).
Still a fun video, though! And I appreciate and respect the time it takes to put this together, as always! I will always and forever be stoked any time a SuperCarlinBrothers Harry Potter video pops up in my subscriptions, even when I occasionally disagree 😉

If Creedance is Ariana's obscurus' new human form then Albus will get Fawkes during the fight because "a phoenix would appear to anyone of the Dumbledore family in dire need." Because like what's more dire than literally fighting your inner demons/guilt from thinking you killed your own sister? I have bet actual money in credence being aberforths son, and more over I am convinced he is on the other side of the mirror sending them messages as Albus and Aberforth feel bad for abandoning him. Tbh I also think the Jacob wand thing is just a marketing tactic because they can’t go back on the rules of how magic works so he’s probably faking using magic in that one scene (it may even be Grindelwald doing it because it looks like he’s attacking Queenie and is trying to stop the wand and Grindelwald wants Queenie to fully commit to his side and forget about Jacob..)

It's a gun isn't it? See that's exactly how i think Harry Potter is going to end. You'll have one of the elite wizards doing this long chant to activate the ultimate spell and then some totally normal guy with a gun will just walk in and shoot him in the head...and then just leave. Like not even say anything or draw attention to himself but just walk offscreen. After a few seconds you hear the door to the studio opening and closing and a few more seconds later you hear some dialogue in the background
Camera guy: "Was...was that part of the script?"
Random actor: *sound of pages being turned* "No, that was definitely not in the script"
Technician: "Did some random psycho just walk in here with a gun and shoot somebody?"
Doughnut guy: "Well, nothing we can do about it now. Should we edit that out?"
Director: "Nah, we obviously can't do a second take, we'll just have to call this a wrap and roll the credits."
