I thought phoenix was supposed to be good against fort/ large targets. May have needed range.
I found a good tactic with shielded fangs vs phoenix keep them busy.

Fort AA is universally good vs phoenixes & wasps due to their low HP. There are ways around it, for example putting a lvl 2 wraith in front, or when phoenixes level beyond 3 they can withstand 1 barrage. Also by taking range tech + temp range on phoenixes it allows them to shoot 5m outside of AA barrage range, as long as the forts don't come any closer.

Why would u go elite mm tech first when he has only lvl 1,2 phx. Seems like range is way better
