I am glad they have relaxed quite a bit! I believe in modesty, as a Christian. In the 90's, the dress code was really over the top. We had to wear panty hose all day 😂😂😂. We could only wear pants in the dorm, or going between dorms at night. We could not wear a denim skirt except on Saturday. I had a great time there and learned much about the Bible. However, I am glad they relaxed. We also couldn't wear sleeveless anything. Everything had to be the bottom of the knee.
When I was there in 2004 I was only allowed to wear skirts/dresses, unless we were actively participating in sports or in the dorm (with the exception of the first floor if it was before 9pm). I'm so glad that women have some more freedom now.
Whoaaa…so women no longer have to freeze in skirts 😅I still remember being afraid that I’d be caught wearing pants under my ankle length skirt because I was nonstop freezing. Also the so called “shower shoes” are literally the only shoes we wear in our state. 😂
I have a question. I'm a girl, but I usually wear a collared, polo shirt, and a skirt, it's ankle length. Would the polo shirt go against the dress code?

Hey, thank you so much for this video. It's very helpful. BJU is one of the schools I'm looking at for this upcoming fall and I will be visiting soon. 🙂 I had a few questions, though. Are skirts/dresses required for chapel attire or does class business casual attire suffice? And also, do you have any recommendations for pants styles? I wear jeans pretty much all the time except to church, so I'm not quite sure what to look into if I do choose BJU.
Praise the Lord! I’m so glad it is helpful😁 Skirts and dress are not required for chapel. Business casual is required for all hours from 8am-5pm. Black dress pants go a long way! I also recommend cotton pants if you prefer more comfy or casual styles, however just make sure you have blouses that go with them (no graphic tees or words on shirts are allowed). Solid color dress pants or a neutral colored versatile pattern are great though. I recommend you try to start thrifting now😁

I actually work at a large thrift store, but I get overwhelmed when I see all the different style pants so I usually just stick with my tried and true jeans. 😂 I guess I should just pick a bunch of styles and try them all on and see what works for me. Sorry, I had another question about the dress code. Is there a place to swim on campus, and if so, what are the requirements for swimwear? I was not able to find anything about it in the handbook.
Np! I have not visited the pool myself, but yes there is one but they have interesting hours. I believe there requirements are midriff covered and then for mixed events (AKA society / rare student life water events) it is shorts and a t-shirt.
I love this for your generation. I graduated when Bob Jones III was president and it was not this!!! Below the knees while seated only. lol.

That's the way it still should be. It looks very tacky to wear skirts/dresses without pantyhose.
