Yeah the color of friendship was the 2nd movie I watched on disney plus. Lol Aladdin king of thieves was the first! Hadn't seen that movie since i was 8! 🤣
I'm so happy that 'Color of Frienship' came in at number two. The single most underrated movie I've ever seen and I'm not talking just Disney movies, I mean all movies. The content of that movie was incredible. It's the only movie I can think of off the top of my head that was simple enough and entertaining enough to keep a child entertained while still showing them such a powerful message that they're able to follow. I was 12 when that movie came out and I still remember being struck by how powerful it was. Considering the world we live in right now, I really wish Disney would do some reruns of that. Or do a remake of it.
I'm so happy it even made this list at all, I didn't expect it to. Not because I don't like the movie, but because I thought they would ignore it for the more popular ones
I really like the movie too, but it was a tad hypocitical. The whole point of it was about racism and judging people by their races, yet the second the black girl saw the white girl, she said, "she's WHITE.." therefore immediately thinking she was bad. Also when the mother took the girls to the mall, and the white girl saw black people shopping, the mother said that it was all good, that stores will let anyone shop that has money, with no mention of the opposite being true just a bit south, in the very near past.
@@su-rv2uq Let me preface this by saying perhaps I don't understand what you mean by hypocritical. But yes, it was about racism. But it was about so much more. Especially considering South Africa (where the white girl was from) was in the midst of apartheid. The most important thing is that it was about preconceived notions. They thought a girl coming from Africa would be black. And she thought a family with a congressman for a father would be white. What I love about it most is that it doesn't encourage the "i don't see color" belief. It pushes that you can recognize color and still work together to build something
Waheed Abdullah it isn’t a DCOM. it did premiere on Disney Channel but it was a joint production with another studio so they don’t officially call it a DCOM, it is simply a direct-to-DVD film in their lists

5 strangers form a band to start a revolution, not the most original story, but a nice change from the usual DCOMS, plus the acting is actually good, the songs are brilliant and it's probably the most requested DCOM for a sequel (which hasn't happened yet).
@@blairmcauley2497 Always overshadowed by HSM like I have nothing against HSM but it's definitely NOT the best DCOM and idk why it's so popular like yeah it's iconic but it's not the best 😊
Lemonade mouth was incredible. But it didn't have have the commercial success that High School Musical saw and it didn't give off as powerful a message as 'The Color of Friendship'. P.S. I know most of the people on here aren't old enough to have seen or remember 'the color of friendship' (released in 2000). If you haven't, try to take the time to do so. It's a great movie in general but is also especially relevant in todays society.
I loved Minutemen. That and Pixel Perfect, Halloweentown, (1-3, the fourth one isn't really a fave), Twitches, (1 and 2), The Cheetah Girls I could go on.. also Hatching Pete, Dadnapped, Wendy Wu: Homecoming Warrior, My Babysitter's a Vampire, Lemonade Mouth, Let it Shine, 16 Wishes, Don't Look Under the Bed I could go on...
Camp Rock was my absolute favorite movie when it first came out! I loved all the songs and bought the CD not long after. My other favorite movies were Twitches, 16 Wishes, and Cheetah Girls 2
Left out Horse Sense, The Ultimate Christmas Present and Phantom of the Megaplex, Mom’s Got a Date With a Vampire. The Luck of the Irish was good. Shows another culture and has sports.
Shia Leboeuf was amazing in Tru Confessions. I think that actually might be the best portrayal of mental illness I've seen in any movie role EVER, and I tend to seek out those type of movies.
@@joewhitehead3 - I haven't seen that movie in 15 years, but I remember hating everything about it aside from Juliette Lewis' character. I did learn something valuable from it though. I learned that police will completely break the law and go against due process if some fat lady shows up to their precinct acting all angry and fat. "i want my son! Give me my son!" You know what would have made this scene great? If the cop just casually said "no" *scene ends* and the next scene opens with a direct shot of an oversized casket. That movie embodies every single cornball dysfunctional family trope there is. Also, in general I'd say pretending to be autistic is a LOT more difficult than pretending to be retarded.. I've got MY retard impression. So does every other kid who grew up in the 90's. That in and of itself, is a large part of the reason why DiCaprio's performance was so full-throated, in my opinion.

Princess protection program deserves to be on here
And Jump in!!!!!
They aren't the greatess of all time.
@@miabundgaard285 Jump In deserved to be on here
Let's be honest here, we all know High School Musical is gonna be number one
Totally, no other DCOM springs to mind, or would have the same legacy that this movie did! 😉
Well my parents say I’m not allowed to what that so I just watched this because I sore lemonade mouth which is one of my favourite movies
yeah it's always hsm like they should pick lemonade mouth over hsm because hsm is too overplayed.
@@ArianaCabello I Gotta be honest, I loved Lemonade Mouth more than all three High school musical movies combined
@@ArianaCabello but HSM has more of a legacy. Lemonade Mouth is a close third (in respects to musical DCOMs) for me.
This is real from Camp Rock brings me to tears every damn time
Camp Rock is higher than Lemonade mouth, and Teen Beach Movie doesn’t even make the honorable mentions??? This is not correct.
Camp rock is overrated
AGREED. WHERE IS TEEN BEACH
I love teen beach movie
@@Sub-v6b I think it’s underrated it is so good and deserves a lot of more love than it doesn’t get and lemonade mouth is overrated
Right!!!
I absolutely love the old movies, Brink, Motocrossed, Johnny Tsunami, Thirteenth Year… there’s a few great ones that weren’t mentioned on the list however, such as Susie Q, Model Behavior, Jump In and Ally Cats
Oh gosh Susie Q goes way back. And I absolutely loved model behavior back in the day. Damn that was when Disney was actually really good. Kids have no idea
@@ChrisCollins068 Not to mention Justin Timberlake was in Model Behavior! How did more people not watch that one?
I'm just glad that Tru Confessions and The Color of Friendship were in this list. Those were the first two movies I watched when Disney+ came out.
Yeah the color of friendship was the 2nd movie I watched on disney plus. Lol Aladdin king of thieves was the first! Hadn't seen that movie since i was 8! 🤣
Pathetic
@@MizfitZer0 youre pathetic
I saw those movies before this Disney + shit.
It's also the only movie based on a true story on the list
Facts
Most of these movies literally defined my childhood!!!!
Twitches, Wendy Wu and the Homecoming Warrior, Descendants are my favorite.
Why isn't 16 Wishes on the list?
Waheed Abdullah it isn’t a DCOM. it did premiere on Disney Channel but it was a joint production with another studio so they don’t officially call it a DCOM, it is simply a direct-to-DVD film in their lists
I loved that movie, especially since Debbie Ross was in it
@@froopnoops4505 who’s Debbie Ross lmaooo

Bruh, I'm pissed that Teen Beach Movie is not in this list, the songsand the choreograph was way better than the plot of the movie itself 😂
@@Erasureeraser I'm surprised because it's the only teen movie musical franchise they left off.

Lemonade Mouth is the best Disney Channel movie. Period.

5 strangers form a band to start a revolution, not the most original story, but a nice change from the usual DCOMS, plus the acting is actually good, the songs are brilliant and it's probably the most requested DCOM for a sequel (which hasn't happened yet).

yeah i sing like A LOT of songs from childhood..... it's pretty much most of what i listen to

The fact that lemonade mouth isn't number one is sad
Lemonade mouth was incredible. But it didn't have have the commercial success that High School Musical saw and it didn't give off as powerful a message as 'The Color of Friendship'.
P.S. I know most of the people on here aren't old enough to have seen or remember 'the color of friendship' (released in 2000). If you haven't, try to take the time to do so. It's a great movie in general but is also especially relevant in todays society.

I thought the same thing!
Shia Leboeuf was amazing in Tru Confessions. I think that actually might be the best portrayal of mental illness I've seen in any movie role EVER, and I tend to seek out those type of movies.
You obviously havn't seen Leonardo DiCaprio in what's eating Gilbert Grapes
@@odaneraps - I did. I thought his performance in that was too full bore. It lacked sensitivity.
@@Brakathor A lot of people thought his performance was what made the movie
