3 years later, Hellboy takes this premise (with some new ideas too) and runs with it to this very day. I agree with Ed & Jim - its a solid idea - there should have been more books!!

Its an icredible idea. Very simple one too. Im not sure who id want to draw it or write it though but i imagine it would be quite easy to do something good with this ip in comic form

I own an original page from issue! Sandy Carruthers lives in my town and I've met and chatted with him quite a bit. He actually has a small comic company they run kickstarters. you check out the work at sandstonecomics.com/ not shilling for them, but Sandy is still in the business. I've never went into the details about the MIB contract but I knew he didn't own any part of it

I was one of the few people that really loved MIB 3. Thanks for shining a light on the comics.

It was good. A fun time travel romp, I don't see the problem with it, either. It was fine

This would so work as a series in the future. Maybe ten or twenty years it ll get a fresh revamp more like the comic. I would love to see that myself taking the idea darker and away from the family friendly movies.

First, not a lawyer but I do like the subject of copyright and trademark. If you create a work and have say an identifiable logo you can put the word "Trademark"/"TM" along with it and not have it registered. It doesn't really gain you much. Only when you go through the registration process can you use the ® trademark symbol to identify that it is a legally protected trademark. So, in the case of this comic the creator probably fell in love with the concept and wanted to try and protect it, I think someone seeing the word "Trademark" is possibly less likely to mess with it even though it doesn't mean much. It's the coveted ® that you need. But that can cost a bit of money, a few years ago I went to a talk with some lawyers, I would recommend one for a trademark, and at the time they charged about $500 for a single trademark. Meaning they did the research and the filing. They mentioned you don't want to file incorrectly because then it's easy for another lawyer to invalidate your claim to the trademark.
Registered Trademarks can also be confusing because multiple companies can hold the same trademarked names but they cover different services. Like one might deal with books and publishing and another might be a theme park ride. Those are different trademarks and require separate registration. As an example there apparently was a "Men in Black" perfume or cologne that was registered, briefly, so brief in fact I think someone sued them so it likely was never used, but the money spent to try and get that would have been gone. So, that's why if I were doing it I'd get a lawyer to help.

Third issue cover, the smoke is pretty well done. Like the five pointed star.
The crossbow looked straight up from the John Constantine movie.

I'd bet money the artist used a picture of Bill Hicks (comedian) for the cover of issue 3.

Cool, then ask him about Men In Black: Alien in New York comic book. It is an unpublished comic, maybe series that only has a few pages come to light.

I remember Miguelanxo Prado (the spanish/galician comic artist) made the character design for the 1998 animated series.

Loved the cartoon.. I never knew Miguel Angelo Prado worked on it too.. I thought he just inspired the character designs. Been a fan of his since Heavy Metal in the 80’s..

Looks like there was a second three issue mini by the same team and still at Aircel. Missed it if you mentioned it already in the video. Definitely a bit of a mystery there for sure.
