Thank you so much for this video. It was very helpful I followed your clear instructions and fixed my toilet too. My husband said I'm not just a pretty face but is also a jack of all trades lol. Also saved me $400 calling a plumber too
Why don't Australian toilets use a refill tube connecting the inlet valve to the overflow tube? I want to utilise the 'fluidmaster flush and sparkle' toilet cleaning system but a refill tube does not exist in either of my functioning toilets and no water comes out of the spout designed to fit the refill tube anyway!?🤷
Thank you so much. My inlet valve was like a water fountain on the weekend and your video helped me out. Plumber was charging $250 and only took me an hour and a $30 replacement from bunnings.
@@NicoleHerrickDIY it really did thank you. Was wondering would you know how to adjust the half flush / flush flush to release less water. I feel with this replacement the half flush feels like a full flush now. Regardless thank you so much, plus your other videos are amazing as well
@@shinlee3921 so you can make the shaft shorter and you can also adjust the small screw at the top. Check the second half of my video where I talk about that.
Oh wow! what a clear instruction with perfect camera angle and view which no one else showed it.This really helps to understand what is in there. Thank you for the video
Thank you so so much for this. My toilet started to over fill nonstop and it wasnt the float. Everything I looked up was about to float. It was the washer at the bottom of the inlet. This was the only one I found that showed this part and I was able to make a run to Miter 10 and have it sorted in 20mins.
Thank you! Best video on TH-cam!Helped me fix the landlords inept attempt to install the Fluidmaster inlet. He didn’t put the filter in and had the top sitting far too high ❤️
Thank you so much been living in a rental for 3 months now and the en-suite toilet has been running and making noise 24/7 watching this was a quick fix finally can get a good nights rest.
Hey Nicole, when I replace inlet valves. I normally use the Fluidmaster PRO45 with either plastic or brass shank. If they are out of stock then I use the Fluidmaster 400UK
i used to think those aerodynamic toilet cistern seat combos were a great idea until i had to dismantle one and saw how all that yellow-brown gunk accumulates. while you cant see it when you clean the toilet it is giving out bad smells and you dont know where they come from. so i removed the unnecessary parts. i also found a serious problem with bowl outlets that go through the wall behind it. gunk constantly sitting on the inside of the rubber seal eventually leaks bad smells into the room. if there is no way to put a ground outlet in then i suggest you replace the bowl and smear lots of silicone over the rubber seal when you install it. the room loses that smell it has always had and you only notice that it has disappeared. this is life-changing if you have an en-suite toilet.
I rent. But it’s so much easier to just fix things myself. I’ve also renovated the kitchen and the backyard. I’ve lived here for a long time and it’s cheaper to make my rental home more beautiful than to move.

Great to find an Australian toilet, the others were quiet confusing with the hoses they were reconnecting.
Thank you 👏

A month ago my Inlet valve got replaced
Do you own or rent?
I rent. But it’s so much easier to just fix things myself. I’ve also renovated the kitchen and the backyard. I’ve lived here for a long time and it’s cheaper to make my rental home more beautiful than to move.
You are not allowed to do if you rent unless you are a qualified plumber
I didn’t ask for your permission.
The inlet valve is a Fluidmaster
A few months ago I’ve replaced the inlet valve because it made a SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS sound
Thanks heaps
Is a dux toilet cistern
They still make it but it is call ballcock washer suits dux it’s a fix a loo brand because the toilet that you have is a dux
Dux cistern
Great video, you should have worn disposable gloves....LOLS
Haha yes that would have been a great idea!
Your clockwise is my anticlockwise 👅
Scootland Braunskies haha! I get so confused when I’m screwing something upside down!
Most importantly the toilet roll is over, not under.
It’s the only way 😂
dux cistern
Yes 👏
The fluidmaster inlet valve are crap in my opinion! The design is designed to fail! Buy another one, three months later buy another.
I dont like them too
