- In this video, I tried to paint nine paintings in ONE WEEK?!
In the Milan Art Institute Mastery Program, we had to do a “production week”. This means, we needed to paint 8-10 paintings in one week. I chose to do nine… And to be totally honest, it did take me two weeks to finish…
However, I’m still really proud of the paintings I created. It used to take me three months to make nine paintings, and now I completely 9 in two weeks?! That’s a huge accomplishment for me.
I’m totally on my way to becoming a full-time artist! If you’re interested in following along on my journey, hit that subscribe button!

I am a professional artist and provide murals… if I didn’t project my work onto the walls, a 3 week project would be a 6 week project, so much quicker than scaling up! That is not cheating it’s common sense !
Yes! I totally agree!
9 paintings in 2 weeks is an amazing feat in my book. I haven't even found the time to start the one I want to paint now. They look great and I love your mix of media.
Haha it is a lot!! Definitely took a lot of focus, so thank you!! 💕💕💕
Fabulous work! Well worth the extra time! 🐯💖
Thank you! 💕
Love your honesty dude, thanks for sharing your experience. Especially when you said it's gotta get messy before it gets good!
No problem!! Glad you enjoyed it! And it’s so true, it always gets messy before it gets good. ✨

I love what you did. 😍 This video was exactly what I needed to watch. I was thinking earlier, "I'd like to see reviews of the Milan Institute" after signing up to be on the waiting list, lol. This was wonderful. I love your passion ❤️ Good luck on your journey 💜
I’m so glad this was helpful for you!! I had the idea to create them when I had first joined Milan because I’d wanted to watch lots of Milan reviews back then too. Thank you!!! 🥰💕

Stunning, stunning, stunning!
Thank you so much!!
Just want to say how impressive these are. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much!! That really means a lot to me 💕💕
As I watch your process, I think you could put the paper on first, then paint the orange in while projecting, then with the projector put the black paint marker in on top of the orange. You could probably knock that out in one day and save 2 days.
Wowzers, you SHOULD be sooo proud of yourself!
Haha thank you so much!! It was a big accomplishment! 😝
I love the projector. It’s amazing for me testing different compositions
Yay! Me too!
Which projector do you use?
Hi I love the way you paint. Can you tell me where you found all your tiger pictures from please ? I don't know where to go for things like that.
Thank you
Amanda from France 🇫🇷
I am in week 3 right now, I am busy freaking out about making my monster 8 stroke creation into a human face, don't get me worried so far ahead about producing 9 paintings in a week aaackk! LOL. I love your work though! Hopefully I run into you in the art chat!
Haha yes, I remember week three!! The monster portrait is difficult but just trust the process. You totally got this!! Thank you so much for watching and appreciating my work! Best of luck to you! 💕
Good tips...well presented...thanks
No problem! 😄
To be fair Vermeer used the camera obscura which today could be like a projector, if it means getting your art projects finished its all good. Awesome Tigers by the way, keep up the good artwork! 😄🖌⚒
Yes, I have heard that about the old masters! And I totally agree!! Thank youuuu!! ❤️
Wow you did a lot and looks great …yes much better w oils on top ..💃🏽💃🏽🥰🥰
Thank you so much!!
I love that leopard one!
Thank you so much!!
This is very informative! Thank you!
No problem! 💕
Love your art!
Thank youuu!!! ❤️
Your paintings are so great!
Thank you so much!
Gorgeous work
Thank you!! 💕
Congratulations! You did an amazing job! 👏 I’m interested to see how you use procreate to compose your sources. I signed up for the program on Friday.🎉
Thank you so much!! 💕 That’s fantastic that you decided to join the program!! Are you excited to start?! 😄🙌🏻
beautiful paintings 😍
Thank you so much!! 💕
I need to get a protector for my reference sketch bc doing the tracing tactic from the sketch paper to charcoal is tiring lol.
I love the paintings
Thank you! 💕
Did you use workable fixature or finished kind to seal your pencil work?
Beautiful work! May I ask the brand of your projector please?
What image app you use to create your images before painting them?
I think quality is better than quantity. It is a challenge though and you champed it out. Hats off to you.
Thank you! 😄
What type of projector do you use
Wow great job. Would you record a video about how you make that sources.
I’m glad you asked because that’s the video I’m posting tomorrow morning! Keep an eye out tomorrow 😄
Amazing! Love the whole process. All the tigers are stunning! May I ask how you create your source photos?
Thank you so much!! 💕 I have a video about how I make my sources on procreate if you want to check that out on my channel. Hope it helps!!
I’m a new subscriber and I love your content!! I’m in week 10 of the mastery program. Could you tell me what projector you use? I don’t know if it matters what kind of computer you have but I have an iPad that I just bought.
Loving your tips to speed things up. I am just curious, why tigers?
Nah, that's not cheating. Only the gate keepers think like this and we don't care what they think lol
Haha that’s so true!! 💕
Beautiful! Where did you get your sources? Did you create them?
Yes, I create them on Procreate on my iPad! There’s a video tutorial on my channel if you’re interested in learning how to do it too 😊
Hi Carly! Thank you so much for this! I love it! I am looking forward to enrolling soon...and your enthusiasm and energy is contagious, fun and uplifting! And I love your vulnerability, sweetness, openness and authenticity too! It really makes me want to be part of this group...so many nice people! I was just wondering where the link to the Acrylic Inks you mentioned are? Does it matter which brand we use? And OH! What about the projector? Is there a specific brand or model that you suggest or use? Ok...wishing you much more success and fun and JOY and love! ❤
Hey Karena! Thank you so much for all of your kind words! It really means so much to me!
I like the subject and the outcome partly, but I am thinking if it could have been done differently. Like may be not paint the lions so thoroughly but leave some " unfinished" parts. Still, I guess as they were kind of reproduced the initial approach have called for that type of completion. Anyway, personally I would have liked them better if they were not so " finished". Some little mistakes that could be interpreted as a suggestion of movement. But then again, the idea is obviously that the lions do not move, but stand still in eternity. Very epic indeed. Who asked that? Some football club perhaps? Anyway, prise to the artist. You have earned your bread indeed. And, true, that was the safest way, really. No messin' around with the lion. :) lovely cats
I agree with you about not using projector until you actually know how to draw because if you don't you're going to end up with things being funky. What projector do you use? I would like to try it out to streamline under drawings.
I found a simply bluetooth projector on Amazon! Here's the link if you're interested: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B082VXZL4J/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_image?ie=UTF8&psc=1&_encoding=UTF8&tag=carlyjeanart-20&linkCode=ur2&linkId=cbd2208c664e0b23aa27d7d73f179189&camp=1789&creative=9325
wow! what a great job. But I have a question, I see that many people in milans institute have like a similar style. Do they encourage that or its is just that you are inspired by them?
I think they have a similar art style because the lessons are taught a certain way. The artists in the program learn to make art the same way as the Milan's make art, which ends up inspiring work that looks very similar to theirs.
How did you build this cool and big easel thing? I find it quite hard to work with a regular easel especially with large canvases and I'm really thinking about building something like you have.
Haha thank you for noticing! It's basically a giant A-frame created with three eight foot two-by-fours! Then, I placed a big 4x8 panel of thin, cheap wood on top of the frame so that the painting would have something to rest back on. The A-frame just rests against my wall and is plenty sturdy. I hope that helps!
@@CarlyJeanArt Okay I see, thanks! Maybe i'll build one of these for myself! It's so annoying when the large canvases are constantly wobbling around while I'm painting and I already have a very high-quality and large studio easel here so... 😬
So amazing! Great job! How far into the program was Production Week?
Hey thank you so much! Production week doesn’t happen until you get to the portfolio section of the program which is about two thirds of the way through. Hope that helps!
What type of 📽 projector do you recommend?
I just found a simple one on Amazon. Here's the link: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B082VXZL4J/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_image?ie=UTF8&psc=1&_encoding=UTF8&tag=carlyjeanart-20&linkCode=ur2&linkId=cbd2208c664e0b23aa27d7d73f179189&camp=1789&creative=9325

Hey Jay, no problem! Here's a link to the projector I bought on Amazon: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B082VXZL4J/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1&_encoding=UTF8&tag=carlyjeanart-20&linkCode=ur2&linkId=4c75fe9ed1612d762a1b24991938f486&camp=1789&creative=9325
Only question is did you copy someones art, use free royalty free art, or paint that orig artwork yourself? [Or was it free art from milan?] This is something that artists def should be careful with😊
9 paintings in 2 weeks is super impressive. I can hardly get one painting done every week!
Thank you!! 😄 It just takes lots of practice and being able to work on more than one piece at a time really helps!
I've never considered trying to do more than one at a time honestly. I typically just immerse myself in one, but I'll have to give that a try and see if I like it.@@CarlyJeanArt
