Small stuff I can help with, even though I am a flanker not prop in my team, is the entire frontrow is taking very small steps forward. Small steps mean more traction over time compared to big steps. Another overlooked thing is the shoulder flexibility and strenth of the Springbok props, meaning they can move their mass ever so slighty into an advantageous position "over" the opposing props whilst keeping their centre of mass very low, and then pressing downwards. This results in immense forward pressure and especially lots of pressure on the opposing props neck/traps while the boks use their necks/traps as an upward folcrum from that higher shoulder and lower head position. Keep in mind while our starting props are pretty short Frans Malherbe who is our best pure scrummager In my opinion is 1.9 meters tall. He does the shoulder manipulation trick very well.
