Hey everyone. Quick apology to say, the screen capture DIDN'T capture any sound for this filming session so i've cleaned up the camera and NTK audio as much as I can but i know it's not perfect. I'll have it fixed for next video! - Connor
A big part of that actual Awake tone is the quad tracking he did - it's both a IIC+ and an early-gen Rectifier on each side. It's the only DT album where he did that.
As a lifelong Dream Theater fan, I can see where you were attempting to sound just like DT but honestly…it sounds amazing and very modern to me, I love it man! I’m a long time guitarist and have always believed that our own dna comes through anything we play even if we are literally covering another player’s or band’s material. Somehow our own imprint gets infused into it and it morphs it into something slightly different and unique. I totally hear the DT influence in what you created but man, it stands on its own as completely fresh, modern, relevant music. Keep creating man you’re awesome.
thick riff wednesday, i dig it! :p phenomenal playing, also loved to hear your thoughts while working! Looking forward to further episodes :) maybe include a bit more production-thoughts as well, like some defining eq-work, mastering chain, whatever, i would like to know about that side of your work as well :)

Wish we had a dual rec sound in a neural plugin!
@@ConnorKaminski STL Tonality Josh Middleton has a really good one if you’re willing to go outside Neural.
@@ConnorKaminski doesnt the gojira plugin use dual recs ?
@@zoedoesmusic4520 That’s based on the 5150 III.
