Damn. I'm a 70 year-old man who has followed Glen's career and really enjoyed his music...And this video did make me shed a tear or two and I'm not ashamed to admit it. Good-bye Glenn, and may you forever rest in peace.
1st time I seen Glen start to have trouble remembering lyrics on stage I sank back in my chair. Then it hit me.... This man had the heart of a lion! To get up on stage in his condition was one of the bravest things I have ever seen. He did not take it lying down! I'll always love this inspiring and courageous man....
Every Saturday morning my mom would get you up fix breakfast and we'd start cleaning house with the record player, playing Glen!!!! Everytime I hear everyday house wife I see her working and seemed like he seemed to be singing about her and she sang with him beautifully.... Miss them Both would love to have one of those Saturday mornings again!!!! Thanks for the wonderful memories and your beautiful voice Glen ❣️
Gone but not forgotten. Here on a day in late October 2021- I think of Glenn and his legendary legacy. So many great songs. Such a great musician. A long and diverse career... and just a decent and humane person. And I believe many, many people think the same thing about him. God bless you and your family Glenn. You may be no longer with us, but as long as your music is still around, And your legendary Life is still part of our memories, you still live on and have meaning in this world we exist in. Thanks for your contribution in making this world a better place!
Glen's song near the end, THERE IS NO ME WITHOUT YOU, is so great. My husband passed in '09 after 44 years of marriage. Glen's words, there is no me without you is so very true and I thank him for the song and for all the great music. Will always love Glen. !!!! Bless his family, Cheryl
Very few People Know How influential he was, ( forget his songs ) He was on countless songs of other performers. He wrote and arranged for 100's of other hits, not to mention his studio work.. ..He was a main member of the Wreaking Crew (look it up ) real talent !!! not like today... I could never have the time to write all he did ...He had Great life and gave us great songs and music ..Thanks Glen
"Try A Little Kindness" is one of my favorite songs of 1969 and my favorite song from Glen and no one else can or should ever sing that song other than Glen. The message is so powerful and true.
We are watching the country music awards tonight and I was thinking of one of the greatest...Glenn C. Absolutely loved his music. He left us with wonderful songs. God Bless Glenn and his family!
Really so sad this terrible affliction took him from us. As a 60 year old living in Scotland , I obviously didn't know him personally but I feel sure he was a gentleman that no-one could say a bad word of & his wonderful music was a joy to behold. RIP Glen, we all miss you so much. x
Glen Campbell made a song for his wife while having Alzheimer's yet we can't remember how to distinguish what is real or fake anymore I respect this man
Thank you CNN for this video.. I had a lump in my throat watching and listening to Glen Campbell. , and my memories flooded back to me when he first started singing.. He seemed like a calm good going kind a guy. This song, the last song, he will be remembered as A Rhinestone Cowboy as well as Gentle on My Mind..Never forgotten.. RIH Glen Campbell..
Nancy and Tommy... I posted my comment out of respect for a great musician and a good guy who fought a tough battle with class, if you can't deal with that then too bad, but you don't have to leave ridiculous comments.
I am twice and a half your age (61) and always getting goosebumps enjoying his great tunes and voice ... So sad he passed that way ... Lucky we still have his great music to enjoy and remember him forever ... RiP
Love Glen Campbell, growing up in Grenada, West Indies, every day there was one hour of country music from 9:00 to 10:00 his music played quite frequently and we loved it. I heard Ziggy Marley also say he listened to Glen Campbell's music.
I AM 60yrs OLD NOW, AND WE ALL",,, HAVE LOST, FRIENDS, FAMILY, AND SO MANY GREAT PEOPLE. FOR THOSE OF YOU THAT ARE STILL YOUNG! DONT WASTE YOUR TIME! HAVE MUCH FUN, HAVE GOOD FOOD, HAVE LOTS OF S..X AND MOST OF ALL BE HAPPY AND HEALTHY. MY GOD KEEP YOU ALL SAFE AND WELL. CHEERS FROM SOUTH AUSTRALIA. AG" 🐶🌷🐣🐦🙏
One of the very very best voices I've ever heard. I'm talking about singers going back before I was born, even back in the '40s. I've seen what Alzheimer's Dementia does to even people with I.Q.s above 160 & with average I.Q.s as a mental health nurse (now retired), and as a son and grand son, and once as a nephew. I miss Glen's voice; his LPs and CDs are gentle on my mind and spirit.
Bless Glen fighting to the end and how amazing that he remembered so many words of his songs despite struggling with conversation. He will always be loved and his music will live on.
So sad. He was just the most endearing entertainer ever. So talented, handsome, caring and lovable. So sorry for his family. Thank goodness we still can listen to his music and remember him with a smile.
Very, very sad to hear of the death of Glen Campbell. He had one of the greatest ever male singing voices which gave so much pleasure to so many over so many years. Our all time favourite is Galveston, which was in the charts when we married in 1969. RIP, Glen, singing with the angels now. Sincere condolences to his family.
Truly one of the greats and will be missed. He was an outstanding guitar player and many didn't realize was a studio musician for many years before making it big. RIP Glen we loved you as a person and an artist.
Glenn Campbell......listening to his voice and brilliant talent illustrates to me that God does exist......Perfection on display.....thank you Glenn for sharing your gift .....you will be loved in Heaven just like you were loved on earth
I've always been a devotee of heavy metal and hard rock, and that's what I sing and play. But Glen Campbell always struck me as an outstanding performer: a pitch-perfect singer and a highly skilled and inspirational guitarist. And yes, his final song did bring tears to my eyes. My father died due to complications of medication when he was deep into Alzheimer's Disease, during the process of which it was like I was now the father and he the child. So my thoughts are with his family, because I know what it's like to lose a loved one to that disease as it chips away at their personality. RIP, Glen. This was the loss to the world of a huge musical talent, although his recordings ensure that the memory of him can never fade away.
He was not good, he was the best! His songs holds so many memories for so many. We can never forget Glen and his memorable songs. We'll be meeting in Phoenix Glen, RIP...
So much sadness and loss with Alzheimers.. I spent a nine years caring for A;zheimers persons and their families...and it was the highlight of my 50 year career as an RN. To use all of my experience and education. and intuition was a challenge way beyond mere knowledge. A very neglected health care arena but a growing concern. Glenn Campbells story really and the courage he and his family had to be so public is wonderful/ Bless them .
Thanks for been a fan of my dad before he passed away, perharp i did like to have some conversation with you thru my private gmail hangout app if you are familiar with that ?
So powerfully sad and moving, and it means such a great deal to me. I was recently diagnosed with early stage Alzheimer's. I've already lost three older sisters to Alzheimer's.
Very sad to see Glen have to live thru this disease of alzheimer's. I was attracted to his music as a little boy growing up listening to Sunday morning's radio, country music sessions.
Man what a great Guitarist, person, father, husband, and friend, Glen Campbell. The world misses your voice Glen. Thank you for memories. It's very hard to see you all go. I grew up with you all. I exhale with a dash of damn.. At an awe. Time has moved on. So many of you have left us. I feel sad. As I picture it all. Those flash backs really got me. We all leave in the end. Our time spent on Earth is short. .... wow
Thanks Glen, WE WILL REMEBER YOU even if you dont. May God Bless and keep you in his clutches, you used his given talent well and deserve the Kingdom of heaven.
They're all gonna be gone one day. So So many have already gone away. And I miss em everyone. They're music has touched my heart. And my memory struggles to keep up with them all. At 50yrs old, I may just be joining them sooner than I would like to. But,, Thanks for the memories Glen & Family. You've been a great musical star.
One of the most brave actions I 've ever seen, diagnoses Alzheimer and keep performing ánd let them make a documentary about it! I've seen it and was brought to tears, especially when I heard 'I'm not gonna miss you'... My mother died of Alzheimer in 2004 and each time I hear this song now I get watery eyes! I don't like or dislike his music but this song made an impact on me like no other song before. Thank you Mr. Glen Campbell ánd your family for this courageous unselfish act and keep his memory alive, and I have no doubt that you will, I wish you good health and happiness!
Rip Glen and may you reach for Galveston like a rhinestone cowboy. Your legacy will not be forgotten, you will be missed and now you will singing to the angels 😙😙
Jonny Colt. So you don't like Glen Campbell or his music, but you take the time and effort to come on here and make a nasty comment just after he passes away? Wow, your life must be pretty sad and empty.

Alzheimers has got to be the most heartbreaking, torturous, and evil affliction that affects the entire family, no words to describe the pain. 😧😔

2019 and I still L O V E I T.
It was Haggard that said that
Gentle on my mind was the first Glenn Campbell song I heard. That man could sing like nobody's business. RIP Rhinestone Cowboy.
This song brought a tear because of how bad it is in comparison to his body of work.
So powerfully sad and moving, and it means such a great deal to me. I was recently diagnosed with early stage Alzheimer's. I've already lost three older sisters to Alzheimer's.
