Sinn Sisamouth is loved because he was one of the talented people of the past. However, he is not the only loved one- many others including: Ros Sereysothea, Pan Ron, Meas Samon, Chea Savoeun, Eng Nary, In Yeng, ect. were also loved. We LOVE the old stuff because that was when Cambodia made their own music and we had a 'sound' to be classified as. In today society of entertainment MOST to all of the new songs Cambodia has are copies from other countries and remakes of the old songs.
I like Sin Sisamouth voice because the tone of his voice can fit into any emotional moment whether you're deeply in love or have broken heart. For example Noy Vannett, he can sing very well but his voice doesn't fit for romantic moment. Prep savat, he maybe can sing but his voice only for people who is drunk or sober
To me the only artist that can come closest to Lokta Sisamouth in present day is Bong Pheap ( Lbong Chhouy Sopheap ).Some may agree,some may not.But that's their rights.Who's to say one cannot be addicted to Lokta Sin Sisamouth's music ? I'm the livin proof !...;))))
