"Tiny houses, tiny cars, tiny retro-handhelds, tiny food, tiny cats, tiny cat food..." and tiny bank account.
😂
"Things are so expensive these days" - Has 5 retro handhelds, 4 mini consoles, 3 all in one retro cartridge consoles, 5 1980s computers, a bookshelf of software, 4 monitors, more consoles...
Tiny pps.
Whispers..."Little Bits"
If it ain't tiny, you're doing it wrong
Clamshell designs bring back good memories of the DS And Gameboy Advanced families.
I got a mini laptop a few years ago and there's really something weirdly satisfying about having something tiny that runs full windows and being able to use a keyboard with it.
“We all know how smooth “heck” is” that caught me off guard😂😂
One important feature about this device is that the screen is landscape native. Unlike other devices like the aya neo for example, where the screen is actually portrait, forced into landscape which causes all sort of resolution issues with many games. But on this device (2024 version) thats not an issue :)
Definitely!
I think Valve uses some kind of magic with SteamOS to get older PC games run on a portrait display.
@@smidlee7747 the whole steam deck and how it manages power and battery is pure magic 🪄
@@smidlee7747They do. It's called proton
Good to know, so you can use AMD AFMF and double the FPS because of this screen.
Can you imagine always having a computer that can fit in your pocket
A cellphone?..... I know you meant a Windows PC.
@@smidlee7747 nah I meant smartphones
@@smidlee7747 that was the joke, you dork
You can run windows on android phones now too
I still have my GPD first generation. Still works great to this day.
I still have mine but one of the trigger buttons got damaged and it's been just sitting in my dresser collecting dust. I wish GPD still made spare parts for it but no
Now this is a real handheld 👍 Good job Dweeb ❤
kinda wish the sticks were on the inside rather than the outside. Especially since X and A are usually the main contextual buttons since on a normal controller they're closer to the stick. With this layout you have to stretch further to do the actions that are meant to be quick. Nevermind the fact you've got to get passed your own muscle memory to go left instead of right.
I'm with ya. I wish they just copied the Steam Deck layout.
I've owned one for several months. The controls are quite compact so you don't actually have to stretch nearly as much as you might expect. It took me about 2 days to get used to the side by side controls.
Love your warm and fuzzy content.
HECK YEAHHHHHHHHH!!!! Took a pause from editing my PortMaster clip just to watch this. Coffee in-hand and chair rolled back. Been really waiting for it. ❤😄
Cheers buddy ☕
Looks amazing. Would love to own one.
Brings me joy to see a reviewer who gets the concept of this handheld! I've got my own (2023 model) and love it, especially how it sits in my tiny hands and how much power I've got in my pocket. I definitely appreciate you throwing in that it's not a good choice for most people, though, because anyone who doesn't like clamshells, needs a bigger screen, or has a reasonable budget will have a bad time with this one. Great video as always!
As long as it comes with an usb-A hole I'm up for it
The 2924 version has USB a. They swapped the occulink port for it which IMO was a bad move. This thing paired with the G1 egpu is great if you travel.
Great channel. Very funny. Couldn’t agree more. It hits all the right notes for me and I’ve got a ton of these. An addiction? A very destructive addiction? Yes.
Been waiting for mine! It should be here in a few days. You've gotten me all excited for it again after a decent wait, lol!
Niiice!
What’s it like
@@rowanquinlan6049 I absolutely LOVE! It. I did a couple tweaks that really improve the experience. First set motion assistant to start with windows and start minimized. Then in motion assistant set up some keyboard shortcuts for some TDP presets, and ones for + and - 1 TDP. I have it boot straight to windows when it turns on, and go to steam big screen by default. I have it set to shut down when you hit power and go to sleep when you close the lid. I installed just the right grip so it’s easy to hold but still fits in the tiny case, and bought a super slim charger and magnetic attach cable. It works like a freaking DREAM!
This video is truly excellent. I’m glad TH-cam recommended you!
Thanks buddy!
"That's what she said" oh man TD I almost died right there 😂😂😂😂
Another awesome video thank you!
Motion Assistant also helps with gyroscope controls. Maybe the application was developed based on that? Who knows.
Wake up babe, there's a new TechDweeb on.
Tell your babe I said hi
Babe sorry I was deadess sleepy and just woke up.
"In my opinion which is all that matters"😂
Wow! This thing is smaller than my old ASUS EeePC 2G Surf that I took with me everywhere about then years ago, but so much more capable!
I can put up with Windows if it will let me play just about anything I want to on it.
Finally a keyboard/controller combo that really seems to work!
Yeah, it's pricey, but I'll figure out something…
You had me at "pocket."
Nice presentation, love such machinettes, maybe the best with Win Mini is the two joysticks, direction and cursor - will steal that in my navigation/scroll code.
I bought this not expecting much, I just wanted to try a tiny laptop. But this was smaller, more comfortable, more performant and just more fun than I expected! It's definitely risen up as one of my fave devices, great review as usual!
great review, I love my win mini! One note about mouse mode, the triggers actually speed up the mouse acceleration so you may be more comfortable using that over the trackpad when gaming.
Good to know!
your wood finsh on your desk makes this video very cozy,.... also great video and interesting device.
Thanks for saying so!
My favourite small handheld! 🔥
Man I really like everything about this device but I'm still rockin' my Ayaneo Air 1S. The idea of a tiny laptop in your pocket is so cool though 😢
I love mine !! Great device !!
Nice! What are some of your favourite games to play on it? I'm loving Witcher 3 and Crusader Kings. I love that I can use the trackpad in the inventory in Witcher 3 and then use the game controls for the rest of the stuff.
@@TechDweeb i know you didnt ask me, but modded bethesda games are great if you run a mod that allows input from both mouse and controller. I have reignited my love for modding games with this device. that's one aspect reviewers forget about this device and other gpd products. It is a joy to mod games on umpcs like the gpd win mini. thank for seeing the vast potential of this device.
@@TechDweeb I like to play sports games. Madden 24 and NBA 2K24 in particular. Plan on playing The Last of Us and the Tomb Raider games too.
GPD just made an Announcement for a New Device Called The GPD DUO, 2 screens. It looks interesting, I forgot to Mention it has OLED Screens as well
Extremely Good ❤
Small PC time with the Tech King
Recently bought the 7840U version of this and I love it, runs CAD, Tekla BIM Software, Bluebeam Revu, Idea Statica and I can just play video games whenever I want. GTA V was my first install on it and it plays great. Battery life could be a bit better but if you got one of those big chonker brick batteries you score yourself a reasonable amount of extra life force.
I'm really interested to see how this little machine handles BazziteOS. Would love to see more videos from you about putting that OS to the test on some of these PC handhelds.
I just noticed you only have 77k subscribers, i'm surprised, with this level of content, it should be a lot more.
Is that a gaming PC in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?
It's my wiener.
@@TechDweebthat is a solid straight man (as in a comedic routine) joke 😂
You dont need the app open. Click the windows Audio icon in the bottom right hand corner next to the clock to turn on / off DTS-X. Spacial audio off disables it. DTS-X only works for games running at a higher TDP like 10w and higher. Don't use DTS for lower wattages or you'll get sound clipping.
Good to know!
Gpd makes fantastic devices. I don’t have this one as I have the max 2023, but I was very tempted. I still get tempted every time I see it😂
emulation test when? also great video. happy to see that you have come a long way.
Really cool! Reminds me of the sony Ericsson Xperia! As always thank you
Ooh! Can you do a video on the Win Max 2? Been toying with getting one.
Pro tuber vid 👾🕹️ thanks TD

The new ayaneo slide is awesome playing sanua's saga hellblade 2
I love the look of the slide!
New to this channel. I was wondering if you are using voice filter? or just natural cold?
No filter. It's 90% me, 10% extra dweebed up version of me.
Clamshells are the superior form factor. 👌🏽
I had the same dream as little dweeb😊 only besides my pocket computer I wanted a wristwatch computer with radio fm (mp3 didn't exist) and phone, I should have patented my ideas when I was 5 in the 80`s 😂 greetings from Spain!
Nice!! Is this the 2024 version?? I’ve been having this on my list for awhile cause $$$ lol
Yup, 2024 version.
That USB. What an A hole.
As in USB type A haha. Funny.
This reminds me of the Nvidia shield portable, i wish someone would make a portable device like that
This is the first form factor that got GPD to where they are today
But….. Linux?
I considered this a while back as a travel laptop/gaming handheld but the keyboard is much too small for it to be functional as a laptop replacement. Their WIN MAX 2 is more in line as a travel/portable laptop replacement but too bulky as a handheld and price is way more. I need a GPD WIN medium!
External keyboard when needed. They are small.
I love how there are so many different variations of handheld PCs, one for everyone. All I want is a controller with a mini pc inside and no screen, just connect to AR glasses.
That exists, forgot what it's called
I admit I'm commenting at 2 minutes in, but my first impression this form factor looks great for emulating old PCs that require keyboards. But wow, those specs are better than my full size computers! It's matching the replacement full size computers I'm researching. geez. I was not expecting this.
Hi TD! I've got a WinMax2 (6800u) and I really like it 😀. I've got a @retrogamecorps sticker over the GPD though, cause I'd rather shill for Russ that GPD 😛 It leans even harder into the laptop side of things, it doesn't fit in a pocket, but I still love how smol and cute it is while still being a powerful laptop with lots of ports. I really like that I can use it on vacations to back up all my photos (sd card slot), and my family and I can play some games and have a real computer to look up stuff. My wife uses it at home all the time to play Hades, though she plops it down on a tray table at the couch and uses an xbox controller.
Usual info wih great humor. Jumped my wife laughing at the red flatulance!
What about retrogaming? I saw some footage of Contra on NES but nothing much about older generations in general and how they perform
That wax in the ears part really got me lmaooooo 😂😂😂😂
@TechDweeb What do you think of using the new M4 Ipad as a retro console now that emulators are on the app store?
Amazing idea! Any way you can play retro games on a great screen is worth doin'.
Imagine this form factor with the Snapdragon X Elite SOC. We just need a solid translation layer for all X86 games and it will be awesome.
I switched out my ROG Ally for an AyaNeo Slide specifically because of those Windows hiccups dealing with an on screen keyboard. I could see using this guy for the same reason.
I'm with ya
I think, like The Phawx, you too will learn to love this form factor as a hybrid device.
I'm sold already
Clamshell design...😍
At first I thought this one was the one with the bigger keyboard which looks even more unwieldy to hold.
The Win Max. Yeah that one is pretty big.
@@TechDweeb ya how they thought putting controlls on that was a good idea I'll not understand.
"We all know how smooth heck is"
Man, this thing looks so fun! There are so many choices for handheld ganing nowadays. I don't know what to go with 😱 Its a good problem to have though.
I'd absolutely love it if they released a super cheap version of this with the n100 for like 300 bucks, I want one so bad but the price instantly makes it not a chance in hell
I'm with ya there. N100 retro and indie games in this form factor would be a great fit!
wait about 6 months and pick up last years model, You should be able to get the entry level model for like 500 bucks
@cheeeeezewizzz if that were true I'd be able to get last years gpd win 4 for 500 right now, but unfortunately they don't really sell enough of these for their value to go down that much.
Hoping for an OLED Win Mini. SteamDeck OLED spoiled me for LCD.
the 1st oneeeeee. yeahh
🏆
I love such Little Things. I have my Nuc Laptop with Arc Grafik Card and be happy about the sweetspot. Becouse i do not trave a lot.
I want one of these, but will probably never bite, maybe when newer models come out. The dpad and buttons seem really far to press. They give me anxiety to look at, but you seemed to play with them fine. They are completely inverted to the Steam Deck layout, which I have gotten pretty used to, I think that layout makes more sense. I can totally see the appeal in this device, and they have came quite far since their previous models. I like the portability of it, the fact you can close it and easily store it, even without a case if you needed to.
I love the first rule in gaming. Can it please Doom?
Perfect Landing @ 15:00 in that Skate Session. Happy Friday!
This and the steamdeck are the only handheld PCs I am interested in
I think this thing is so cool, especially with the right use case. If this had existed for my deployments to Afghanistan, it would have been perfect. May be great for people who travel a lot, military, even college students!
crazy how i just saw this in the mall yesterday 😭
Any way you can get your hands on a clockworkpi uconsole, for a review?
I hope I can!
Usually how much power draw required to play PS2 games? Is 8w TDP sufficient?
I bought the original GPD Win Mini with 64 GIGGLEBYTES of DEDOTATED WAM! However i do wish i had the USB A port. That would give me some extra convenience by allowing me to use my original Microsoft Arc Mouse without an adapter. Yes, i got the original one without Bluetooth.
is the lower model less powerful than ally?
Hmm, link to buy not posted?
Fixed
Can you do neo geo hidden gems video I love this series and your game selection is amazing
nice seeing Freddy Kruger doing tech reviews.
I had the very first GPD Win back in college and absolutely loved it, until its battery puffed and I sold it to a friend who wanted to replace the battery, and I bought a Switch. I really loved the form factor of the original GPD win so I'm hyped that they're back to the clamshell design. At the time I had the GPD Win, it was the only real name in handheld PCs, we didn't have a Steam Deck, or an Aya Neo nothin, or any of the options we have now. Excited to see how this bad boy feels. The only one I'm really looking at is the Steam Deck because of the trackpads, but this is definitely a contender... my rule of thumb (hah), is that if I can't play FTL: Faster Than Light on a handheld gaming PC (IE, it doesn't have a trackpad), I'm out.
I cant wait until the Dweeb reviews the RG35XXSP. Hope he makes a video on Mustard OS as well. Lots of talk about that one these days.
Looks like it would be perfect as a Mini-Amiga Pocket ! 😊
That's a device which is to be added to the list of portable Win console. And PC. It's not for everyone, like you said, but it offers a wide range of other tools than Win consoles don't have...
In a recent video, you said you like me because I've watched it till the end. Now you said you don't like me. Which is it man? Make up your mind, the suspense is killing me!
I'm fickle. Deal with it.
So....about that link from where I can buy it...Can't see it!
Doh! Sorry, added 😅
Can you hook this up to the 12tb kinhank gaming HD? Try this for your next video content.
Definitely!
I have been interested in the gpd line for a while, but they all seemed underpowered. The new AMD proc seems to get rid of that problem. I am tempted more now than previous. What size nvme does it use? 2230? 2240? 2280?
it uses 2230 but there is an stl file that allows you to 3D print a case that fits a 2280 nvme ssd, you just need to buy one of those nvme extenders
Much prefer this over the fat deck designs. Makes games look more impressive running on something smaller
Motion Assistant also let's you use the on board Gyro for games dude! Damn I'm gonna need to make a video soon.
Also good to know! I never use gyro in games. I know lots of people like it for flick stick FPS style but I could never get used to it.
how about upgrade Memory and Disk space? - Grate review!
I am very interested in getting the mini, Although 3/4 of my GPD Win's developed issue with the ribbon cable so im cautious to buy another clamshell form factor from them, I guess i was pretty unlucky but was able to fix them myself, I went through 3 batteries with the GPD Win 2 in less than 6 months until i gave up with it when the hinge snapped, My GPD Win 3 triggers failed pretty quickly also which i was able to repair, What are the odds of this many failures with the Wins :(
I hope they have worked on deisgn quality control
this generation of their products have been a lot better than their devices in the past from what I've heard/read. I own the Win Max 2 and Win Mini and both feel very premium and high quality. I haven't owned any of their older devices so I can't really compare but I haven't had any issues with the ones I currently use
Does it have gyroscopic aiming?
yes, it has gyro
