Best is prawn and mullet fished on pushing tides with slow drift on the boat.
plus blood worm can get by the river mouth grunter love it.
don't forget about the swimming prawns at night normally caught by torch near the mouth of river a mission to catch.
not been there for many years. but planning to by small farm up river in year or two time.

Were you camping on gielies farm? On witsand side? Do you never pump prawns for grunter? Lots of leeries can be caught on the sandbank opposite Breede lodge. Wait for low tide, anchor your boat on the bank in middle of river and as tide pushes throw lures/live bait into the channel towards breede lodge
