other people made good points, but but to add I can also definitely say that poison fits in the notion of parasitism being a form of illness. The slowking isn't dead, but it's sick, with the parasitic shellder having taken control of its weakened state. Not to mention that they apparently both became this way because the shellder's brain got juiced up by the "spices" produced by slowking's body, and thus another tie to the poison type.
A little late to the party, I know, but ideally I think that slowking would have had an ability like Dhelmise's that powers up ghost type moves and it's signature move be changed to ghost type since it's so shockingly ghost type-like already.
You pointed out how trees were important for a lot of the myths. Well to tie them into Slowpoke, to evolve one into a Galarian Slowbro, you had to use Galarica twigs found from trees, and make them into a cuff for Slowpoke to wear. So do you think the twigs maybe used again for Galarian Slowking, but as like a crown it wears, before Shellder becomes it's new crown? I mean it kinda ties trees to even it's design? idk
I think an interesting thing to note about Galarian Slowking is that half of its body is purple. The reason this is so interesting is because if we are to believe the Shelder upon its head is vampiric, it could be eating away at the Slowking's body. Usually when blood is unable to access certain points in the body, they become dark blue or purple from lack of blood flow. Meaning, Slowking might also be undead, much like the vampiric inspiration.
This right here. Since the tail is conical in shape, it would make sense that the shellder ends up growing around it to create that spiral shape. I mean, the tail is a constant, regrowing source of food for the shellder, so why wouldn’t it grow?

This was super interesting! I came up with a theory based around that and part of the old datamine and returning pokemon, so spoilers (kinda): The tree's otherworldly origins and the fact that we know the Ultra Beasts have a role in one of the story's parts from the datamined title cards links up quite well! I'm going to guess the tree (and Calyrex) are what keep life in the Crown Tundra stable, but because the tree gives off a lot of dynamax energy to do that Ultra Beasts show up and start attacking and/or disturbing it similar to how they're drawn to Ultra energy. Then you have to defeat/catch them to stop the birds/regis/Calyrex losing control or something.
Lockstin, you should do a video talking about what Absol is. I've done a quick Google search on it, and its origin and reference material seems like the makings of a solid video....
I am certain that someone must have mentioned already, but they do remember me of the mentats of dune that used the 'spice' to attain mental powers; the same as this slowking but in a different manner. I know that is very slim association, but looks like a little easter egg.
funny thing about vampires, some did a test, not with vampires, but the next big thing, leeches 1 hand smeared with garlic, the other hand not, and the leeches got attracted by the garlic hand. there is a chance vampires are actually attracted by garlic, not repeled by it
I think that Galarian Slowking's design plays on the idea of the Puppet King, the idea that the person in charge isn't really in charge because there's someone behind the scenes (usually even unknown to the King) pulling the strings. In this case, the Shellder bit down so far that it is now essentially the one in control. It's possible the Slowking is still alert in there and believes it is making decisions but as it turns out, it's just a puppet now.
My head canon is that this is a shellder thats taking full control of the slowpoke. I mean they specified that it's the shellder that it's gaining psychic powers
... I mean, to be fair to Shellder, I'm pretty sure it evolves alongside Slowpoke when it does this. Could be a conditional evolution, like the many trade Evos that exist.

The depiction of Mordred being the son/pawn of Morgan Le Fey is a relatively recent addition to the King Arthur mythos that has no historical merit aside from Mordred and Morgan's names sounding kinda similar and Morgan's constant scheming against her brother Arthur being mixed with Mordred's betrayal and taking over the kingdom. They sound on the surface like they could be connected until you remember Morgan's schemes basically amounted to Magical Pranks like sending the Green Knight to have his head chopped off, also when Arthur falls in battle against Mordred the first Sorceress to come heal him is his sister Morgan Ley Fey who had given up with her schemes to go live with her other Sorceress friends on the Island of Avalon.

This was super interesting! I came up with a theory based around that and part of the old datamine and returning pokemon, so spoilers (kinda):
The tree's otherworldly origins and the fact that we know the Ultra Beasts have a role in one of the story's parts from the datamined title cards links up quite well!
I was expecting Lockstin to upload a video about the new gameplay that was released lol
Lockstin, you should do a video talking about what Absol is. I've done a quick Google search on it, and its origin and reference material seems like the makings of a solid video....
"The spice expands the consciousness".
That's all I need to say.
It says read more but there is nothing to read more
Seeing him go "sPooOoOokkieEeeE" made my entire week
That undead guy seems like the protagonist from happy death day
I didn't expect to see Abhartach show up, but hey I'm fine with that lol.
He is my number 1 want for a Celtic character for Smite.
I am certain that someone must have mentioned already, but they do remember me of the mentats of dune that used the 'spice' to attain mental powers; the same as this slowking but in a different manner. I know that is very slim association, but looks like a little easter egg.
You accidentally invented 2 more evolutions of slowpoke: Slowdude and Slowguy.
I'm getting some serious Dune vibes from the spices part.
funny thing about vampires, some did a test, not with vampires, but the next big thing, leeches
1 hand smeared with garlic, the other hand not, and the leeches got attracted by the garlic hand.
there is a chance vampires are actually attracted by garlic, not repeled by it
The amount of people saying first Is honestly disappointing
10:23 thanks for the image I wasn't tired anyway😁
I was just watching a crown tundra video I’m so excited🤗 I can’t wait for the streeeeam
where is the stream? cant find it
A wooden stake, specifically from the Yew tree? Funny, cause in Russia, to kill a vampire, you need a wooden stake from the Aspen tree.
I want to take that “hat”of his head.... :> I wanna see his eyes 😂
I'm Irish and watching you try pronounce that word was fun😂
I don't know how to pronounce it either 🤣
**Abhartach comes back again**
The people: HOW MANY TIMES DO WE HAVE TO TEACH YOU THIS LESSON OLD MAN
Cmon I love the design 😭
The lashes threw me off
I always thought how it wold be if the thing was on his head. Im happy with what happened.
Oi, Okuyasu!
me too but the eyes are just no god no
@@ed3nhaz4rdous they need to be larger and wider apart
My head canon is that this is a shellder thats taking full control of the slowpoke. I mean they specified that it's the shellder that it's gaining psychic powers
*"Help me Step-Slowbro!"*
*"NO! Bad BlueFire!"*
... I mean, to be fair to Shellder, I'm pretty sure it evolves alongside Slowpoke when it does this.
Could be a conditional evolution, like the many trade Evos that exist.
I remember reading once the ancient Egyptians thought dwarfs were magical and even had a dwarf god. Then I guess Egypt-British empire-it all comes together IDK
3:27 ‘tis the spice melange! We must alert house atreides!
2 minutes in and already loving it!!
You're in school arent you?
I watched this after not sleeping for a while and the headcrab animation at 7:51 genuinely jumpscared me
The tree might also be based on Yggdrasil, the World Tree in Norse Mythology
Why does everyone always say in Norse mythology is there any other world trees?
@@themostbritishpersonalive868 I think it’s because the Norse mythology Yggdrasil is the most well known tree of the Life because of pop culture, mainly the Thor movies and the Magnus Chase and the gods of Asgard books
@@noodle0512 but are there more world trees other than yggdrasil
@@themostbritishpersonalive868 I know, I just said that the Yggdrasil is probably the most popular of the World Trees, I’m not denying the fact that there are more =)
@@noodle0512 no seriously I'm asking I've never heard of another world tree does one exist
OMG 😂 when I watch it the SPOOKYYY! part at 11:36 slowly fades into an advertisement and I legit thought this was part of the video.
Unpopular opinion: Galarian Slowking is somewhat cute
Imo it looks cute when it's happy, but otherwise... not so much.
Agreed that is a unpopular opinion
I do find him cute ! I LOVE purple. And his edgy androgynous face makes me smile, actually.
Maybe I'm just weird. Yeah.
Every mon has a fan! I think Slowking's new form is very silly in a good way
@@kattwithcats927 Agreed

The name of the ability, curious medicine, could be referring to how the guy woke up after dying, with a sort of curious medicine
I'm telling you: the next games have to discuss the consiquences of all the legendary pokemon being caught!
This was good timing. Was rewatching your earlier videos and you really improved over the years
906K subscribers?! I can only dream of having that many.
Get out of here please
How bout you make content? That would help
@@DayFlounder I do make content. It doesn't get many views though.
@@Zaderos Who are you talking to?
It has state in bulbapedia that "According to Professor Magnolia, the Pokémon distorts space to change its size while affecting the world around them."and it also states that "eternamax Eternatus's power grows so immense that it causes a great storm of Dynamax energy around it, ripping holes in spacetime in the midst of the storm as it releases a virtually infinite amount of energy." this mean that dynamax powers can use to distort space and time, and can even create a holes in spacetime. So those legendary might came from another dimension
(Sorry for my terrible English)
Ah yes 2 views and 19 comments it seems youtube has learned brain
Man you should do Lore stories. I completely forget that we were watching a video about Pokemon and Slowking. Think about it man you had me hooked.
