@@tartarosist First of all - I can work/use MSI without eye strain. Dell was killing my eyes literally. In terms of overall view - MSI looks very good. Straigt frame borders (Dell had some problem with bottom bar - checked on two units which). Better menu and also avaiable via PC app. sRGB/Adobe RGB/P3 settings avaiable on MSI (on Dell not).
I recently bought the G274QPF at Costco for 220 bucks which is an insane steal for a gaming monitor! 1440p resolution, 170hz refresh rate, Wide Color Gamete, Rapid IPS panel, 27 inch which is the sweet spot screen size for my desk setup and has more connection ports ! And was very satisfied as my early Christmas present!
Let me preface by saying that I really enjoy these reviews and this channel overall. My problem is that everytime I go to pull the trigger, after watching one of these reviews, its either sold out, hasn't been released, insanely priced gouged or a newer/better Monitor review has just come out! 😬

Hey, love the in-depth reviews with good competitive info. Have you heard about the new Acer 390 Hz monitor (XV252Q FBMIIPRX or XV252QF)? Its only $500 USD (!) and supposedly the motion clarity is very good. I've also seen claims that its backlight strobing doesn't affect brightness (almost like DyAc+?) and it can strobe at 390 Hz. There is only a single video review out which doesn't go into much detail. I'd really like to see all of these claims tested! Might be a monitor to look into. Keep up the good work.
eyval. I have this monitor but the LED on the backside is so weak...it barely lights up...I am going to open it and see if I can redirect the signal to a better RGB strip.
Dell s2721dgf costs 350€ in austria and the msi 500€, so I went with the dell. If they were equally priced, MSI for sure bc I really dislike the ips glow of the lg nano ips.
My minireview of pg279qm against xb271hu (same panel as the old pg279q): Very bad contrast, backlight bleeding and blooming compared to xb271hu. Colors are good or might be even better but lacks the punch and vivid, looks very kinda dull compared to xb271hu because the contrast. All in xb271hu wins hands down in picture quality. Now motion is where pg279qm takes the cake. Very fast, clear and smooth. Much smoother than samsung g7 240hz. I think it's the g-sync module that makes a huge difference. G7 is a stutterfest compared to this. And lastly the Reflex Analyzer. It's not ready. When you enable it in geforce experience, at least battlefield 1 starts to lag like crazy making any measuring pointless. Tried with two different mice and i do have nvidia 3000 series gpu. You can still take accurate single measurements from the monitor osd while latency mode in geforce experience is disabled, but you can't utilize software's features like counting average numbers. Conclusion, i'm kinda disappointed but if you really need the fastest 1440p display for some game of yours and you don't care about picture quality or reflex analyzer, just the pure speed, well yes, i guess this is the best or one of the best monitors on the market.
I literally decided and got this monitor a few days ago. No sRGB clamp is very unfortunate. Games look great but web content does not, even after a full calibration (i1display pro+displaycal). MSI crippled this monitor with no sRGB clamp. Still on the fence about returning it as I didn't think web content would still be this bad. Why MSI, why no sRGB clamp? EDIT: Web content using wide gamut looks fine. It's the content that is not wide gamut that doesn't.
you seem to know more than the average person with this stuff. should i get this monitor? im currently using a cheap va 144 hz but i want a smooth looking high refresh rate monitor. i want to be able to enjoy fast paced games without dealing with ghosting or some type of motion blur effect. im considering either this monitor or the lg 27gp850. which you reckon would be better? even tho tn panels are smooth, i dont like their colours and viewing angles
@@calllmejosh2024 well it's hard to say what might suit others but I will say this - it has a VERY GOOD contrast ratio, the best I've seen from an IPS panel. MSI did implement an sRGB clamp thru a firmware update and the color gamut is really deep. So deep that reds appeared to take on a deep pinkish hue. The firmware update MAY have corrected that but I don't have to monitor anymore to see how good the clamp is. It's a really fast monitor. Response times and input lag are some of the best and ghosting was a non issue at any refresh rate when I had it. The ONLY reason I returned it was because of the lack of sRGB clamp at the time. Now I'm kicking myself in the butt for now keeping it. Case in point, I ended up getting the Asus PG27QM which is about 300$ MORE than the MSI and personally to me the MSI has a better contrast ratio and is just as fast if not faster. I don't think you'd be disappointed in getting it. Just be sure to enable the sRGB clamp when watching anything online as the extended color gamut is going to make TH-cam and videos look oversaturated.

Can you please review the MSI G273QF or G273QPF(same monitor with a height-adjustable stand). It has the same response time performance as this MSI and it costs a lot less.

Nope. But it doesn’t need it because it doesn’t do 4K. For XBOX and PS5, the included ports should be enough (1440p120Hz for Xbox, and 1080p120hz for ps5 since Sony is dumb and doesn’t support 1440p)
@@BijanJamshidi It has a special console mode look on the MSI website...saying it can do 4k...(bit confusing maybe). Are you gonna review the Gigabyte 4k hdmi 2.1? Another interesting screen like this one. "Console mode accepts 4k signals esp for ps5' on their website. P.s Few reviews on amazon uk saying "oversaturated" colours. Interestingly no mention of this console mode to accept 4k signals. (Upscaling?)
At the end, I can't tell if you are recommending this or the LG. It's like -- "I'd go with this... Unless this is like it IS... Which it IS... So, I'd go with the LG... but this is good too." ... What?
Its funny the LG GP850 doesn't seem to have variable refresh rate and strobing enabled on the retail models, so you might not want to include that into comparisons...
Thank you for this great video but one question I saw your samsung odyssey g7 video and I want to ask will you recomend it for me (just want an 2k 240hz for just games like valorant and cs go and cod mw) thank you
I use this for my Ps5. I Play Fortnite on 120hz and Session on 60hz. I got brightness on 70, Contrast at 70 and sharpness at 0. Should i use mprt or hdcr? Does somebody got tipps to get the best for the PlayStation 5?
this or the G7 odyssey? I have a 980Ti so I just discovered that I cannot push 240Hz due to DP 1.2. debating whether to upgrade the GPU or downgrade the monitor. G7 is 90€ more expensive than the MSI here
You say you won't notice the contrast ratio between 1000:1 and 800:1. So what's the point in this monitor? May as well buy the Dell S2721DGFA and save £50....
bro, what is the difference between a displayport 1.2 and 1.4? I currently have a monitor with displayport 1.2 with resolution 2k 2560x1440p, what benefits does 1.4 DP give you?
The difference is capability, if your monitor comes with 1.2 then it’s probably fine as 1.2 will be able to use the monitor’s full capability. 1.4 is needed for monitors higher than 4k 60hz, a 4k 120hz monitor would need 1.4 as would 5k 60hz and beyond. Your monitor being a QHD 165hz (or below) would be fine with a DP1.2.
Can you share your settings for this monitor? I got this monitor a couple days ago but the colors look really unnatural and i'm struggling to get it look right cuz there isn't even a setting for gamma and saturation and i don't want to buy a 200 euros colorimeter tu use just once.
what is the difference between 27GP850-B and 32GP850-B besides size? I want a 1440p monitor with 144hz+, but I heard 27 in' in the sweet spot for 1440p. Thank you anyone.
Don't get this monitor, quality control is terrible. When i bought that time my unit came with dead and struck pixel and sent back for exchange but still has the same issue and sent back for exchange for second time. This time no or struck pixel but it came with "dust" under the screen. Since it is located at corner and not noticeable, i just keep it.
@@tienathua1820 I’ve tried other high end 165Hz 1440p monitors. The motion blur reduction just doesn’t match up to what the zowie does. I do only play FPS so that’s a factor to consider with my opinion lol
honestly the monitor is not cheap, and a good screen calibrator is atleast £99 here. Atleast sell the monitor already with calibrated settings dialed in. After all, not all monitors are the same, and won't have the same calibrations. So far almost all monitors in the industry apart from the one's designed for Content creators and designers are not calibrated and are missing so much of its potential just cause its not calibrated...

when do you think theyll be making affordable 1440P 240hz monitors? and whats the best HDR monitor for you?
6:32 "And others run like Star Citizen" ...LOL 😂😂
thanks for your reviews man, im late to the party but your the only reviewer that use tarkov as an example for monitors. Im between this monitor that is 165hz and the gigabyte m27q x that runs at 240hz, but honestly if im only playing tarkov i will not get anywhere near the 240hz not now and maybe not ever.. do you think this is a better monitor for Escape from Tarkov?
Hi, what Monitor has you bought? I have the same issue right now.
*Optix MAG274QRF-QD vs lg gp850-b*
if price doesn't matter ⁉️
Hard to find this monitor available for purchase anywhere. The non QD model number is everywhere and I believe they aren't the same.
Can you please review the MSI G273QF or G273QPF(same monitor with a height-adjustable stand). It has the same response time performance as this MSI and it costs a lot less.
This has QD which makes a huge difference to the price and performance of the monitor!
This still a good monitor? Thinking of buying one
What you have now
I had 2 of those, both with issues and dead pixels, colors too way oversaturated. Not good enough for almost 500
I've had two as well. Back light bleed was pretty bad. And the second one I bought had dead pixels. But damn these monitors look nice beside the back light bleed :/
mag274qrf-qd vs lg 27gp850
which one better ?
Just grabbed one for $367.99 woot woot!
How do you typically calibrate your monitors?
Which will better choice for gaming & media consumption between these two?best bang for the buck.. Ergonomics doesnt matter as mount on arm..Prices converted from indian rupee to us dollars
LG 27GP850 $427
MSI MAG274QRF QD $527
Been wondering the same myself for the past few days, which one did you get?
Which did you pick
Msi is better
Can you do a calibration tutorial? (Unless you think there are enough of course)
Already have one.
@@BijanJamshidi my life would be easier if I actually used the search function.
@@BijanJamshidi where
did you find any dead pixels or stuck pixels ?
Will 60FPS video stutter on this monitor on 165 Hz setting adaptive sync off or on? Also, would you recommend this monitor or Samsung G7 240Hz 27"?
Is it hard to calibrate the colors so that they are accurate?
No HDMI 2.1 but has a console mode? Interesting. Still very tempted by this monitor.
Should I buy Msi or better Dell? The price isn't main. . Because a lot of returns in Ukraine about lg gp 850 with defects.
At the end, I can't tell if you are recommending this or the LG. It's like -- "I'd go with this... Unless this is like it IS... Which it IS... So, I'd go with the LG... but this is good too." ... What?
Bijan, what about the new mag 274qrx? Any chance of a review?
Can u please help me to choose between
1) Gigabyte m27q
2)lg gl850
3) this msi model
Its funny the LG GP850 doesn't seem to have variable refresh rate and strobing enabled on the retail models, so you might not want to include that into comparisons...
All monitors I test with BFI are tested with VRR off, as it should be, so this doesn't affect my results.
Thank you for this great video but one question I saw your samsung odyssey g7 video and I want to ask will you recomend it for me (just want an 2k 240hz for just games like valorant and cs go and cod mw) thank you
Me and my wife/gf are hardcore tarkov players. We only play tarkov. Thats it. What msi screen should we get. Both have gtx 2080 ti cards. :)
Hey Bijan, I bought the non-QD version MSI MAG274QRF. May I ask if I would be able to use your ICC profile? or are the 2 models considered different?
did you find any dead pixels or stuck pixels ?
@@يامن-ه1ك I did not. Fortunately :)
I use this for my Ps5. I Play Fortnite on 120hz and Session on 60hz. I got brightness on 70, Contrast at 70 and sharpness at 0. Should i use mprt or hdcr? Does somebody got tipps to get the best for the PlayStation 5?
This one for 550€ or the new LG 27GP850 for 500€? Also this MSI doesn't have sRGB clamp?
I heard there is a firmware update that adds an rgb mode that caps color gamut.
this or the G7 odyssey? I have a 980Ti so I just discovered that I cannot push 240Hz due to DP 1.2. debating whether to upgrade the GPU or downgrade the monitor. G7 is 90€ more expensive than the MSI here
Bro I brought this monitor the colors and seems off hurts my eyes immediately returned it..lol jesus
Hi Bijan! Nice review.
How about now? After 1 year, is there any other options that offers more than this monitor in the same price range? Thanks!
Did you get it bro
@@knowwork9 I go with this.
man i got a serious case of BLB with my M27Q
You say you won't notice the contrast ratio between 1000:1 and 800:1. So what's the point in this monitor? May as well buy the Dell S2721DGFA and save £50....
How will this monitor work for really dark games like Escape from tarkov ?
Hi , can someone please help post the best color and contrast settings for this monitor ? I just picked one up.
bro, what is the difference between a displayport 1.2 and 1.4? I currently have a monitor with displayport 1.2 with resolution 2k 2560x1440p, what benefits does 1.4 DP give you?
The difference is capability, if your monitor comes with 1.2 then it’s probably fine as 1.2 will be able to use the monitor’s full capability. 1.4 is needed for monitors higher than 4k 60hz, a 4k 120hz monitor would need 1.4 as would 5k 60hz and beyond. Your monitor being a QHD 165hz (or below) would be fine with a DP1.2.
Can you share your settings for this monitor? I got this monitor a couple days ago but the colors look really unnatural and i'm struggling to get it look right cuz there isn't even a setting for gamma and saturation and i don't want to buy a 200 euros colorimeter tu use just once.
do you prefer this over the zowie?
Would u recommend it for a laptop 1070 ti i play only Valorant with 144 fps on 1080 p and watch movies on my laptop??
what is the difference between 27GP850-B and 32GP850-B besides size? I want a 1440p monitor with 144hz+, but I heard 27 in' in the sweet spot for 1440p. Thank you anyone.
Ahhh it would be perfect if it had a 32” variant
Don't get this monitor, quality control is terrible. When i bought that time my unit came with dead and struck pixel and sent back for exchange but still has the same issue and sent back for exchange for second time. This time no or struck pixel but it came with "dust" under the screen. Since it is located at corner and not noticeable, i just keep it.
Mine was fine lol. No backlight bleed and little to no ips glow
Which black equalizer is better between benq and msi??
What's the difference between the 273 and 274?
After experiencing dyac+ I can’t look at anything else with the same satisfaction 😔
really! compare to this monitor???
@@tienathua1820 I’ve tried other high end 165Hz 1440p monitors. The motion blur reduction just doesn’t match up to what the zowie does. I do only play FPS so that’s a factor to consider with my opinion lol
I've read that enabling dyac+ introduces a lot of input lag especially in CS GO. Can you confirm this, please?

In my region this monitor comes with a price of 600$ is itworth it ? Can you please suggest?
Great monitor but should read more reviews especially with monitors that expensive
I just bought one, I hate the colors. How can I change them?
Can you post your settings? I am trying to calibrate my monitor
Color profile is compatible with Msi Mag274QRF not QD?
honestly the monitor is not cheap, and a good screen calibrator is atleast £99 here.
If you were to choose between this or the G7, what would you pick? As I'm looking to buy a new monitor to go with my 3080 and want 2k gaming at >144hz. Budget is no option and want a max screen size of 27". Also, love the vids, your reviews are excellent!
