  • In this video we take our stock 750W Trailblazer and 1200W Trailblazer in a real world off-road test to get a baseline result before we can do more extensive testing. This is an initial test since any actual mountain ride is not passable until late spring because of the snowpack. We will follow with a more thorough and longer test in the summer when we can take them to some actual climbs!
    Testing Parameters:
Consider these figures the IDEAL SCENARIO for even avid mountain bikers!
Both bike batteries were fully charged and fully discharged on a 10A load prior to testing with the full capacity calculated by a calibrated shunt. Remaining capacity was calculated by taking the known full capacity value minus the remaining capacity after the ride. The testing parameters are accurate but a longer climb would undoubtedly require more input from the motor system due to rider fatigue so consider these figures the IDEAL SCENARIO as the climb was only 2.5 miles.
White Trailblazer- Race spec components, 750W, Class 1, stock 48v 10.5ah battery
Black Trailblazer- Pro spec components, 1200W, stock 48V 10.5ah battery
We will do a follow up tests on a longer climb with heavier riders to get a more accurate measurement for people who are not intent on pedaling as much as our race team riders. Keep in mind, rider weight is the biggest factor in hill climbing range as our riders weighed 145lb and 165lb respectively and are extremely competent riders. Pedal assist levels were mainly kept to 1 or 2 with no throttle used and a healthy amount of rider input.
    Total ride- 6.4 miles
    Elevation- +1500ft

So this isnt real world, this a calculated figure off a short ride drain calculation. Also 145lb rider, that's a 10 stone guy, I mean this is funny. I don't comment but I couldnt not on this (real world range test). This goes to show nothing and this is best case scenario with a light rider. Bad as Lamborghini with these figures 🤣

Notice how we said we will follow this test up with heavier riders and longer rides, so we can compare results! In this particular video we have data for 145 and 165 lbs riders.

@@hipowercycles No cause you lost us with the misleading title of a real world range test then did a calculation. Why would we watch longer ?

@@CrazyBikerGuy They didn't lose me with the title. I actually got some info I had been looking for, for my next battery build. So, for "ME", it was real world and I appreciate them taking the time to make this video, and I hope they keep up the great work, and ignore anyone with the word "CRAZY" in their name, as it speaks volumes about their character.
