      EXACTLY. I'm fat-phobic and I will shout it from the roof tops. Why would I wanna be unhealthy and more miserable with less quality of life and a shorter life ahead and miss out on so much involvement of my kids and grandkids' lives? I don't want that. I am afraid of getting fat. I hate the aesthetic of being fat (at my fattest ever currently after having a baby), and my taste is to prefer the more streamlined look of not having extra squish and rolls. That's about me. Not others. And, I really don't wanna buy a new closet. So yes, I'm fat-phobic, thank you very much.

    My entire family is considered overweight / obese. I grew up eating fast food every single day. I feel like it gave me a fast food addiction. It took me until 26-28 years old to cut the habit down to 1-2x a week. I started going to the gym at 2am 4-days a week. I am in the best shape I have ever been in and I’m beating the obesity that runs in my family. It is worth it.

    This has happened almost every year since 2014. An "obese" entertainer will be on every daytime talk show saying love yourself for what you are, to standing ovations, then the next year they will make the same rounds showing their weight loss and we are supposed to stand and cheer for the thin version. That is the heavy celebs who don't die an early death before their scheduled appearance. I told you las year that Lizzo would be back and thinner than ever. It is the standard entertainment mantra.

They are so positive and supportive and have been super kind to me. No excuses, they wake up early, walk, exercise, many doing all of this while keeping their family obligations and work. I have yet to see anyone see or paint themselves as a victim or engage in drama. This is masculinity at its best and I find it inspiring and want to learn from them.

      Fat-phobia is a thing. I've been overweight most of my life and people absolutely treat you differently.
      People in restaurants watch you eat and others act like being fat is contagious.
      God forbid you comment how much you weigh when you're on a forum looking for information on heavy duty camping chairs or a bicycle that will support a big person or whether a piece of clothing is true to size because you get an avalanche of people trying to give you nutritional and exercise advice without ever receiving an answer to your question.
      Yes. I'm exercising and watching what I eat. I've lost 75 lb this year and am working on the rest. It takes a lot of discipline.

      @@docdray8546 I’ll make a comparison for you. It is not until quite recently that more influencers have revealed their cosmetic, enhancements and surgeries. Before then, many young women would look at these celebrities and just think that all they needed to do was work out, eat healthy, do their makeup better, etc… So basically it destroyed their confidence by making them feel like if they worked hard enough, they could achieve the same results. Influencers/ celebrities taking Ozempic and losing a lot of weight is the exact same thing. Someone might look at that and say “wow, she’s losing so much weight. I try so hard and I can’t. There must be something wrong with me”. So, yeah. There is a problem with not being transparent about these things that they are showing off on their platforms and I have a problem with that. Who cares? I do. I care if a celebrity with a largely young woman following is showing off her significant weight loss and not revealing the fact that she is using a medication to do so. It parallels the lines of influencers showing off their bodies/ “good looks” without revealing cosmetic enhancements they have had. It leads to many young women wondering why they just don’t have the discipline, ability, etc. to lose weight like their favorite celebrity. This puts pressure of unrealistic expectations on people, especially young women who might be comparing themselves or their health journeys to her. So, yeah… I care.

  • @Dbentzjr
    @Dbentzjr หลายเดือนก่อน

    When someone begins to heal themselves, its a delicate balance because the inertia of having already been rolling in laziness still exists - so the struggle is akin to pushing a boulder up a hill. However... as time goes on, with enough consistency and hard work, the hill will become level and things will become easier to manage. Everyone has a different journey, and we all have our coping mechanisms or crutches. I hope everyone can overcome their struggles and begin to live fuller, happier lives. I admire those who battle themselves and pass on what they have learned to make others see that they can do it too. Nobody is perfect, we are all struggling, but life is much easier when we help and encourage one another along the way.
