The New York Subway is such an important part of NY’s history that has received a lot of negative press lately. It’s still the fastest and safest method to get around the city.
Statistics show that in 2022 there was 1 violent crime per every 2 million riders. As of 2024 the crimes have decreased by 3% while ridership has increased by 14% to 3.6 million daily riders. It’s an easy target for the doomsayer-content creators but the Transit, its workers, and the many who designed and built this system deserve more credit.
    Thank you.

Such a refreshing take on the NYC underground transit experience. As a DC kid visiting New York City in the ‘60s a subway ride was better than anything found at an amusement park. I loved standing at the window of the front car, watching the train roar through the tunnels and above ground. In college, it was my ticket out of Brooklyn. 70¢ for two tokens with 30¢ change to call up a hot date. Those were the days, my friends!

The views never get old. I remember being a kid and looking out the window as the 7 Train took the curve from Queensboro Plaza into Manhattan. I get to share that experience with my kids now and it's still such a fascinating ride.

It’s such a fun and surreal experience between the trains and all the people dressed up. I think because it’s such a part of daily life we don’t notice the changes. It brought me back to being a kid and how archaic the trains use to feel.

There are so many stories of bravery on 9-11. I had never heard Harrington’s story. Great video as always.

Thank you so much. I took some time off to travel and research more locations. I want to begin filming more in New England so I was visiting Boston. I have many great adventures coming up this year

Jose, you made a wonderful video. In the early 70s, I remember the cars on the L line that had the ceiling fans and the seats were woven with bamboo.

    Hello, fellow Jose!😂
Just wanted to thank you for being so positive in your assessment of the greatest subway system in the world.
Having been born and raised in The Bronx, I've definitely experienced many high and low moments in my 43 years on God's Green Earth.
Nothing can be perfect, no doubt. Yet it never ceases to amaze me how a 120 year old network of elevated and underground railways can help move generations of humanity. From the 100th anniversary of The Statue of Liberty, to the late 90's Yankees Dynasty, to 9/11. Yup, I've seen it all, baby. Keep up the good work.🗽

I'm flying out from the UK for my first ever holiday in NYC in just over 4 weeks-and I won't lie although I'm a little bit nervous about using the subway (I'm sooooo bad for using transport networks in other places lol)-I'm also really looking forward to using it, it's going to be such an interesting experience. Also hoping to check out New York Transit Museum as well

I filmed that station in my Upper East Side video and remembered how great it fit the story I wanted to tell.
